Welcome newcomers to the fog! Here you can ask any sort of questions about Dead by Daylight, from gameplay mechanics to the current meta and strats for certain killers / survivors / maps / what have you.

Some rules and guidelines specific to this thread;

  • Top-level comments must contain a question about Dead by Daylight, the fanbase surrounding the game or the subreddit itself.
  • No complaint questions. ('why don't the devs fix this shit?')
  • No concept / suggestion questions. ('hey wouldn't it be cool if x was in the game?')
  • No tech support questions. ('i'm getting x bug/error, how to fix this?')
  • /r/deadbydaylight is not a direct line to BHVR.
  • Uncivil behavior and encouraging cheating will be more stringently moderated in this thread. We want to be welcoming to newcomers to the game.
  • Don't spam the thread with questions; try and keep them contained to one comment.
  • Check before commenting to make sure your question hasn't been asked already.

So I just had this 15 minute hatch standoff...

...which was really annoying, as usual. I was playing trapper and only had this supertoxic Nea left on my plate. So we're standing there looking at each other. After 10 to 15 minutes guy decides to send me a friend request (to get me into accepting it and not being able to control the trapper).

So I'm sitting there thinking: How about downloading the Steam app to my mobile phone with one hand, while keeping my other hand on the mouse. Steam app downloaded, accepted his friend request, patiently waited for him to (try and) trick me.

Then he sends me a message saying „What the fuck are you doing? Camping..." and I knew as soon as he saw me typing, he would try to escape. Just as I type the words "Hatch standoff", this moron REALLY tries to jump into the hatch and I catch him, bring him to a hook and afterwards delete him from my friendslist and uninstall the app...

I hope he reads this <3

EDIT: after re-watching the video, it was actually his friend that tried to trick me into messaging (he died earlier).

Yes, I can understand that you might be upset with me for mowing you down and hanging your battered body on a hook.

I can empathize with the fact that you would feel personally victimized after I've chased you around swinging a big, meaty blade at your back.

I know it's annoying when I stomp the hell the generator that you've worked so hard to restore.

And believe me, I can only imagine how frustrating it is to have your limp body tossed over my burly woman shoulders while I try to feed you to a giant spider in the sky.

But I'm trying my best. I'm really trying my hardest to give you and your fellow survivors a fun game. I play fair, and believe it or not, I even cut you a break every now and then if I notice you're struggling.

So when you win, please try to win gracefully. Make your escape and I'll take my loss like a champ.

I'm bound by the Entity to maim, kill and sacrifice you, but that doesn't mean we can't get along.

So please, don't teabag me at the exit gate.

I'm tired to lose matches cause i can't even see where the survivors are running! I just played as a nurse and it was so frustrating cause the shit framerate and continuos frame drops! After every blink i was not able to understand where the survivors were running with 10 fps ... Now i know why is on ps+

I think I'm going to be a killer main with Michael Myers and Leatherface. I originally bought Michael because everyone here was saying he's top tier, but I notice I've been doing a lot better with Leatherface, probably because I'm lower tier.

It's really stressful playing as killer sometimes though, all the goofs and gaffs the survivors play on us. I think I've only had my ankles broken once, and I'm at rank 16 now. I've noticed that sometimes when there's only two people left though, one will camp the hatch and wait for the other to die. In my opinion 3 kills is still a win to me.

I plan on buying the pig too, as her reverse bear traps sound fun to use.
