| is there a mod for permanent battlefield damage? Posted: 05 Aug 2018 06:50 PM PDT i was wondering if there was a mod that would add stuff like permanent craters and certain dead units like downed airplanes and destroyed tanks. i think it would make the world feel a little more natural and give a sense of History when you see old planes and craters or old medieval banners and armor from long passed wars. | AI achieved science victory without spaceports? Posted: 05 Aug 2018 03:35 PM PDT Just lost to AI via science victory but I'm confused how they obtained it. They have four spaceports but all four were pillaged (and they didn't get repaired on the winning turn, I selected the just one more turn option and confirmed all four were still pillaged and no new ones were created). Also I had both great people (Sergei Korolev and Carl Sagan) that give space race production. Thought it might be a glitch so reloaded the save three times but AI won via science next turn each time. Any ideas how this was done and what I could've done to prevent or delay it? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 05 Aug 2018 06:33 PM PDT R5: After finally taking the time to learn how to build parks consistently instead of just hoping I'll have the right conditions, I went a little nuts. The game ended somewhere around my 3rd park but I just had to keep going. The first few parks were found via careful pinning and a few instance of planting trees. Later, I got the Eiffel tower and 3 more acceptable spots popped up. (on prince difficulty, I was playing solely to get the hang of parks) [link] [comments] | ||
| Civ 5 or 6 for an absolute beginner? Posted: 05 Aug 2018 12:18 PM PDT So today my girlfriend and I had the urge to play a strategic board game, we couldn't really find what we were looking for so I convinced her to try playing a LAN game of Civ with me. Now she is an absolute beginner, doesn't even really play video games. So I'm wondering which game is the easiest to grasp. I'v played both Civ 5 and 6 but it's been a while since I've played, and I'm definitely no expert. If I recall, Civ 6 has a lot more micromanaging so I'm kind of leaning towards 5 but I would love to hear everyone thoughts. Whatever we choose shes going to play the tutorial first before jumping into a real game. Bonus question: We have a desktop and laptop to play on, in order for us both to play, we will need 2 copies of the game on two different steam accounts, correct? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| [Civ VI] culture victory tips (or what not to do) Posted: 05 Aug 2018 08:56 AM PDT I won a cultural victory last night (for the first time on Deity) and was actually peaceful nearly the entire game! I never took a city by force, (got 1 from rebellion, and raised 1 small city actually) and I made many many mistakes along the way but Still managed a cultural victory On like turn 275 or so. Biggest mistake: once I was basically sim citying it and waiting for faith for natural parks and looking for any More spots for seaside resorts, after a long while I realized every other country had fascism, and I had democracy. Policy card wise I did not want facism, but it turns out that doesn't Much matter, if everyone else is 1 government change to that government immediately! I didn't for 15 or 20 turns and I could have won the game that much faster. Everyone else within a few turns befriended me and opened their borders, this was a huge boost to tourism on top of removing the tourism penalty for having different governments. Mistake no. 2: don't ignore archeologists! If you only build art museums you miss out on a lot of tourism, and full, themed archeological museums are worth way way way more tourism than art museums. Mistake no. 3 if you have open great works slots, and Money, trade for more great works (and try to theme your museums) Mistake no. 4: I never got around to build my government district because my city layouts just didn't have a nice spot for it, it was such a waste to not build this right away, but at first I was short on pop, then there just wasn't a great place for it, eventually I just put it where it didn't even give any adjacency bonuses, so you could say my district placement was terrible for this game. | Posted: 05 Aug 2018 05:09 PM PDT Ok so, can someone help me whats happening here? at the top of my screen it says I'm generating 1558 tourism from cities, however these national parks when I hover over them while checking culture victory display a lot more. This doesn't look right, can anyone take a quick look and help me understand what's happening here? I'm new to civ 6 and don't visit this reddit much but this has left me scratching my head! If this is a known issue im sorry for asking here, but this is weird to me. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] | ||
