Pandaren in BFA - Some thoughts

Ok, i had a pretty interesting online conversation i wanted to share with you about the Pandaren storyline. I know Pandaren still suffer some kind of hate for some reason but at some point, now that they're here, let's just move forward.

Their biggest problem is : they are crossed factions AND they are shown as pretty peacefull. It's hard to make them fit into the "eternal war between two factions" mythology.

Thing is, leaving them aside and trying to forget them is lazy and disrespectful for the Pandaren players. So instead, let's turn a weakness into a strenght.

We all already know that the next expac will involve the old gods at some point. I'm also pretty convinced old gods are the reason the war is rising more than ever between the two factions.

Here's one posible way to make them fit the Battle For Azeroth theme while respecting their lore :

We know that the pandaren race had to deal with an old god influence (Y'Shaarj) and they learned to keep their emotions in check to avoid fueling the power of the Shas. That makes that race the most prepared to resist the old god influence.

It will be pretty logical to see that race benched or ignored by the faction's leader during the war. We already see it in the beta.

Here's the idea : make the Pandaren the main defense of both factions against the old god's influence. The race that will help prevent both factions to completly fall under the old god's will. That would make them an important part of the war and their respective faction without twisting their lore. When the expac will reveal the old god plan, the Pandaren could step in and protect the factions.

EDIT : Just to clarify a point, I'm not suggesting something like a major event focusing on Pandaren saving everyone or being the last hope of Azeroth. Just few questlines to show how they finally find their place in their factions by helping them resist the old gods is enough.
