Posted: 24 Jul 2018 12:36 PM PDT I'm sick of having to hit the "Power Up" button over and over again to boost a Pokemon that dropped at a low CP. The default can still be one incremental power up at a time, but this shouldn't be the only option. EDIT: I wanted to clarify something that came up in a reply from u/biggestofbears below. I am not suggestion that Niantic allow us to power up our Pokemon in any increment we wish. I am simply suggesting that they let us perform multiple individual Power Up's in one action. I.E. if each power up increased my Pokemon by 50 CP, I am not suggestion suddenly that I can increase the CP of my Pokemon by 75. However, I think I should be able to increase it by 100 CP without having to perform the action twice. Further, an internal counter could identify that this move would have been the equivalent of 2 individual power ups for the purposes of things like quests. EDIT 2: Thanks everyone for all the replies!!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:21 PM PDT I think that too many people want shiny Pokémon to be easily accessible and it's really annoying to me. I don't get it. They are supposed to be rare. I see so many "ideas" where you practically get them as a gift, that would make them unsignificant. Change my Mind if you can, maybe i'll Unterstand something i could Not see until now, but until then i'll secretly keep judging people. [link] [comments] |
Battling Gyms should reward you with Coins, holding Gyms should give you Stardust/Candy. Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:05 AM PDT It's really frustrating to have a Pokemon with zero motivation in a gym when you've already earned your 50 coins for the day. You're basically just waiting for it to lose a battle so that it can return to you. The way it works now, the best way to earn coins is to go out at night and take over a gym as late as possible, hoping that in the morning you've earned your 50 coins. By rewarding a player with stardust/candy instead of coins for holding a gym, there would be a big incentive for players to hold gyms, especially since there would'nt be a need for a cap anymore. Rewarding battling with coins would feel way more satisfying than waiting until your Pokemon is finally defeated. There could still be a cap of 50 coins, with a reward of 5 coins per battle won for example. Are you happy with the current system? What are your thoughts? Edit: Thanks for all the replies! Don't get me wrong, this isn't a post about the amount of coins we can earn a day. I'm all for a cap. I just feel like the current system feels kind of random sometimes and battling gyms often isn't very rewarding. [link] [comments] |
I said it in a previous post, and I’ll say it again... Posted: 24 Jul 2018 07:37 AM PDT Niantic needs to add an option to change the quality of the game to help preserve your battery life. They should add a High quality, Medium quality, and Low quality feature. High quality keeping the game at its maximum appearance, while medium lowers things, putting less stress on your phone, and low keeping things at a minimum appearance. I'm just tired of my phone dying after 1-2 hours of playing Pokémon go. Its affecting the rate I catch Pokémon, hatch eggs, and how much I play. What are you thoughts? EDIT: Stop telling me about the power saver mode that currently is in the game. It doesn't work well. EDIT2: With the different quality's, I don't mean that they only reduce the visual quality.. I also mean that it would limit how much code it runs, and lessen all of the things it does in the background that it doesn't need to. [link] [comments] |
Can we stop complaining about a “PokeCoins shortage”? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:44 AM PDT The thing everyone must understand is that PokeCoins are this game's form of premium currency. Anyone who has ever played a free mobile game knows that they always feature in-app purchases, usually in the form of premium currency like this to make their gameplay easier (or other things like no advertisements, etc.). Typically in a free mobile game, the developer gives you absolutely no way to earn premium currency beyond the initial amount they give you by teaching the game's mechanics, and maybe a bit more for completing goals in-game. The fact that Niantic allows players to earn currency at all should be commended in the first place. The game never harasses players with advertisements either, nor are there any in-game prompts to buy coins. In fact, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the Shop just to even see the in-app purchases. However, lately I've been noticing more posts about more ways to get PokeCoins in-game. While I admit, the way they're earned now is a little nonsensical, I think that should be changed first before we implement extra ways to earn coins. We have to remember that the coins are Niantic's way of earning revenue considering there are no other in-app purchases. If it weren't for these, we wouldn't get nearly as many updates and events as we do now, and content would come to a screeching halt. The only thing that should change in my opinion, is the current method of acquiring coins. Introducing several ways to earn coins would make the game even easier and hurt the game's content flow. EDIT 1: added a few sentences. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 03:30 PM PDT I think everyone from avid level 40s to the casual player has to be more pleased with their item storage of late. I have heard far less complaints about revive shortages or lack of Pokeballs. It is a solid workaround by Niantic as they face the challenges of implementing a POI submission system. A couple notes...if anyone submitted to this subreddit 6 months ago they would like to see 2 new ways of obtaining items they would have been downvoted to oblivion because "Niantic wants you to spend money". I think Niantic implementing these new features shows they're not as short sighted as that. Both gifts and research give incentive to play more, and by players playing more they'll get more revenue. Give a little back and get a lot more in return. And hey, it seems to be working. I hope people here take note of that. Next, I hope they start incentivizing daily coins better. It's been an issue for a year now just overshadowed by the still poor EX system and game crippling bugs. Still, it's bad. There should be a 1 to 1 correlation between the amount of effort I put in the game on a daily basis (if that's how they choose to distribute coins) and the amount of coins I get. There shouldn't be a dependance on how long my Pokemon camps in a gym. There is an issue if I take down a gym of maxed, meta defenders in 10 minutes, it gets knocked out right away, and I get nothing. Compare this to a dead gym that takes 2 seconds, and it stays rotting for 8 hours 20 minutes, and I get a complete reward. Reward me effort! So, more effort means more engagement which means a happier, more invested player base which means more money spent on coins. Just like how the research and gifts have played out. [link] [comments] |
Just tried my first solo-raid at level 27 Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:13 PM PDT And I got.... I'm so happy I was able to solo a tier 3 raid! I know Porygon is the easiest one but I've always loved it and now I finally got one and it's 98%! Just had to share my happiness :) [link] [comments] |
As requested, I've created 4 more Retro posters for Pokemon GO Items! Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:05 AM PDT The response to my previous posters was outstanding, but there was also requests for items specific to Pokemon GO. So I return today with 4 more posters featuring the Poke Stop, Lure Modules, Lucky Eggs, and Starpieces! PostersAs always, I would love to hear your opinions, and feel free to use the posters for wallpapers! [link] [comments] |
Your starter pokemon should be "lucky" Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:49 PM PDT This would at least give us some incentive to keep the starter instead of turning him/her into +1 candy. There should be at least some benefit to having the starter. What do you think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:33 PM PDT Since I hadn't seen anyone else mention this, I thought I'd post it here. I noticed that Ludicolo sometimes catches his hat from falling off his head during his idle animation in gyms, and I thought it was pretty cute. I wish we could see these unique gym animations elsewhere (like in the Pokedex, perhaps?) [link] [comments] |
[idea] Place a bounty on stagnated gym's pokemon. Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:23 AM PDT To increase turnover for gyms that sit for days, the game can generate a bounty that rewards stardust/candy for each successful battle at said gym pokemon until it's knocked out. For example, each successful battle against a bounty pokemon could reward either 200 stardust, an ultraball, or a candy of the type. A gym full of bountied pokemon taken down could give you 6 to 18 rewards. On the plus side, the idea could lead to a new 'bounty hunter' badge. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:10 PM PDT Not bashing how anyone plays the game, if you enjoy hunting for perfect IV pokémon then go for it. Back when i was playing pokémon competitively (smogon rules) it made perfect sense wanting to breed the perfect IV pokémon plus the appropriate nature. I would sometime spend hours trying to breed the perfect iv pokémon then i would infect it with poke rus and hit up the best spots to EV train. You NEEDED the extra edge. Unless they change PVP in pokémon go, i'll never be too pressed about getting perfect IVs in PoGo. What are thoughts guys/gals? [link] [comments] |
[Bug] Dear Niantic: Why does it matter how i enter the gym? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:40 AM PDT Since the introduction of the remote-berry feeding feature something has been bothering me. I am currently 20 meters away from a gym with my mon in it. „Too far away" to feed. Why cant we remote feed if we enter by clicking on the gym? It would work if i enter the gym through my medals - but that seems kinda unnecessary, given that i am standing right next to the gym and can easy access it from the map. Usually i like to feed while walking - but don't „pokemon go" too far - or the [too far away] feature stops you from feeding any more. ;) (Please fix) [link] [comments] |
Why can't we take AR pictures of Pokemon we already caught? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:05 AM PDT I hate AR mode when I am attempting to catch a Pokemon I get so nervous of it fleeing on me. Wouldn't it be better if we could get an AR shot of the Pokemon even after we catch it? I would love to be able to get an AR Photo of let's say a Gyarados or a Lapras if I go to a nice beach. [Screenshot] I finally got 400 candy for my Wailmer, just as I walked the 100th km with it! Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:34 AM PDT Exactly 400 candies and 100km walked! I finally managed to get 400 candies for my Wailmer, the last few being from walking. When I checked my buddy's status I realized that besides getting the right amount of candy I also hit exactly 100km walked with the guy! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:23 PM PDT I was discussing Pokémon Go mechanics with a friend and I thought Pokémon Centers would be a great addition to the game. We could replace some of the PokeStops with PokéCenters. We could get less potions and revives at PokeStops and be able to drop our Pokémon off and fully heal Pokémon at the PokeCenters after a few hours or minutes. I think it would bring new additions and new changes that would make the game a lot better and more familiar to long time franchise fans. Plus it wouldn't hurt much, people would either use it or not. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Whilst we’re all waiting for this update to be forced, let’s reminisce the good old days :) Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:08 AM PDT One of my favourite Pokémon go memories was about a week after launch. My friends and I were at a local hotspot at around 1am (commitment!) when a Gyarados appeared on the nearby list (which was extremely buggy at that time if anyone remembers). Anyway, everyone started sprinting aimlessly until we heard a yell from the other side of the building shouting "ITS HERE"! Before I know it; my friends and I sprint over there along with about 50 other trainers that came from absolutely everywhere! It was so amazing that so many players were around at such a crazy hour to have their chance at the first Gyarados most of us had ever seen :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 07:20 PM PDT I can't be the only person obsessed with checking my stats in all video games, especially the time played. As Pokémon go has been out for two years now and it is differently my most played game (for me) this past two years I think it would be nice to see my time played in the game. I know that Niantic keeps records of what you do in Pokémon go. This isn't a must have but it would be a really fun stat to look at. [link] [comments] |
[Complaint] Walking Distance should be more accurate! Posted: 24 Jul 2018 12:54 AM PDT I'm still really mad about how the game register the walking distance for eggs and buddy. Yesterday me and a group of people walked 7km in a strait line on a street in a area without skyscrapers or very tall buildings and it only registered 4km. We had full cell coverage and gps was always accurate. We didn't turn of the devices the whole trip and caught and spun every stop. Device we had where Iphone X and Samsung S9. I know we would get less distance if we had gone zigzagging though the city but a straight line walking... Why... [link] [comments] |
What do you look up frequently? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 08:31 PM PDT Hey everyone! Just hit level 40 and am looking for something new to tackle, so I'm making a Pokémon GO "field guide" app! I'd love to know what you look up frequently that you'd prefer in app form. Right now here's what I've got finished so far:
I'm all ears for anything people would like added as I approach the first release :) Thanks, Matt [link] [comments] |
Pokedex should also track shiny catches the same way as lucky ones Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:00 AM PDT Well, as title says. It would be great to have a shiny counter in your pokedex aswell. As a player who's main goal is to collect a living shiny dex it would be great to keep track of how many of each shiny you have caught in total. Some might be transferred or traded away. Thoughts? [discussion] I just turned the sound back on for the first time in almost two years... Posted: 24 Jul 2018 06:01 PM PDT Oh wow! The memories that flooded in! I'm not sure how many of you turned off the sounds and music forever ago, but I certainly did. Hearing the music again was like a blast back to the beginning in summer 2016. Running around aimlessly trying to find the nearby Pokémon with absolutely no compass but the fiery desire to get the shadowed Pokémon you knew was SOMEWHERE close. Hearing the sound of the ball click, click, CLICK and knowing you caught it. It's amazing what sound and music can do... it made me smile so much. [link] [comments] |
