Can we get seasons in 1.13?

Posted: 25 Apr 2017 10:25 AM PDT

Four years ago, /u/Dinnerbone was tinkering with the idea of seasons and even asked for suggestions (source) about that. I think this is a good time to remind him :)

How would you feel personally about having seasons?

It occurs to me that by changing all the dyed blocks to be similar colors, the World of Color update is actually making the game less colorful.

[Suggestion] "Call to Action" enchantment so you don't break the flow of breaking blocks

Posted: 25 Apr 2017 02:03 PM PDT

Have you ever been strip mining and you're zoning out breaking stone and placing torches when suddenly you come across a dirt patch and you have to stop and rummage your inventory for a shovel? It's the worst when dirt and gravel just break the flow of mining. But the "Call to Action" enchantment helps with that.

When a tool has call to action on it, it will work anywhere in your inventory if you try to break an appropriate block. So you don't have to open your inventory and move the tool to your hotbar.

For example, if you try to break stone and you have a pick in your inventory, a ghost image of the pick appears in your hand and stays until you break the block. Same applies with an axe to wood or a shovel to dirt.

The enchanted will not switch with the item in your hand. A ghost copy of itself will temporarily overlay the item currently in your hand so you can break the block. When the block is broken, the tool disappears and the original item returns.

So back to the strip mine. If you go in with a pick and a shovel with "Call to Action" on it, dirt and gravel will no longer stop you because the shovel in your inventory will temporarily replace the pickaxe while you break it.

Just something to make everything easier.

This enchantment has one real drawback, that being you can't see the durability of the tool.
It is also a treasure enchantment and can not be found in an enchanting table.

Pretty Mistake. This is a mistake filled overhead of the top block (skylight) taken from each chunk in a minecraft savegame. Totally broken but pretty. :)
