| League of Legends tournament site prize scam Posted: 23 May 2017 01:25 PM PDT Hello I am Metaphor (Shout) a player who recently won the HTC tournament with my team "Team E Turner" We competed on a website known as "Battlefy" where they advertised a prize of $100 + HTC Vive's for the entire winning team, yet upon winning, were only given the cash portion of the prize and a "sorry" Proof that they offered the vive. https://twitter.com/Metaaphor/status/866988831337099265 https://imgur.com/a/yMiaA Then after the tourney ended they updated their website and changed the prize https://gyazo.com/cc3fe6c1f6ac0d189f09cc84943e13ec Here's the email they sent me saying we wouldn't get what was promised due to miscommunication, somehow they apparently messed up 5 vives for the entire winning team with 2 vives being randomly raffled away to anyone who won a game in the tournament (not sure how thats even possible) https://gyazo.com/b182bcbee93fa1611362b9056fcda2e3 After tweeting out what happened and it gaining a bit of traction on twitter I was also sent this article about them doing it again, and they are also promising vives to an overwatch tournament https://gyazo.com/f32a9dcb218a6c650968236ca8cd2c5f Here's someone who has connections with HTC contacting them and they say they did not give them the prizes to handout to begin with so im not sure how they even plan on doing the raffle https://twitter.com/AGeNtl0l/status/866880408679583744 https://twitter.com/AGeNtl0l/status/866881193601531904 A link to the entire twitter thread and the bracket that we competed in. https://twitter.com/Metaaphor/status/866819931043577856 EDIT : One of the admins specifically saying its 1 Vive PER PLAYER [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 23 May 2017 10:39 AM PDT This is a repost (unfortunately). The current season of Intel Extreme Masters will not feature League of Legends. We have taken a decision not to schedule IEM events around Riot's LCS calendar. In the current LoL landscape during the off season Western players are being traded or are on vacation while Korea and China are running tournaments with their teams locked in. Working around those limitations didn't seem like the right way to move forward. Our 2017 events won't happen to be in a period where pro LCS teams are free to compete. In discussions with Riot it was also determined that LCS wouldn't pause for Katowice. This means that for the first time since 2011 LoL won't be there. I am sad I won't see some of you there next year. As I write this, I am not sure if we will or will not run LoL events in IEM in the future. Should scheduling events around LCS become easier, I would certainly like us to. ESL will continue to support LoL overall with national championship events around the world. Finally, I have promised to put money towards charity if we had a less than perfect tournament in Katowice - I will be in Poland in July and I will donate the salary bonus I've received last year to a charity that helps children with cancer (http://naratunek.org/). League of Legends has been a major part of the growth of Intel Extreme Masters and has delivered some amazing memories. Thanks to anyone that's watched all of our events, or just one. For anything we didn't get right along the way, I apologize. I'll be answering questions in this thread as I'm sure there will be some. - Michal P.S. Post your favorite IEM-related memories here if you have any. Posting mine in the comment. [link] [comments] | ||
| The guys from Riot Anticheat just temporarily shut down the biggest script provider Posted: 23 May 2017 01:38 PM PDT So a friend of mine just told me what happened. A guy made a thread in the actual scripting forum. The thread got deleted after 5 minutes because people thought it was just a fake guy trying to trigger them. The actual thread: http://prntscr.com/fbbn1h After the thread got deleted and he got banned from the forums, he went ahead and joined the discord of the script provider. A friend of mine asked for proof, so he went ahead and added 1 RP to my friend's account. Before: https://prnt.sc/fbbcpj After: https://prnt.sc/fbbd4v He held his promise, and every account that injected the script got banned after 30 minutes and the script is detected. So basically everyone who scripts for 1 game will get instantly banned after that. So this is just a heads up, that riots anticheat guys do their job. Just not as good as the Blizzard ones. | Posted: 23 May 2017 03:54 AM PDT 35, 40 minutes in as adc when you have 70% crit you are comfortable but if you go crit, every minute before that is uncertainty. On paper it is increased DPS and works. But in reality it does not feel good to play. Players building Bork is a sign of that. What I want when I play adc is a new carry item that gives a consistent damage output like Bork, Maybe an item that deals more damage the less hp someone has to work with burst mages and aoe teams, maybe an item that does more damage the farther away you are to encourage adcs to keep distance. | Mundo Buffs on the PBE are concerning... Posted: 23 May 2017 07:29 AM PDT Tl;dr: I would like for Riot to consider changing Executioner's Calling so that the amount of healing reduction applied scales with bonus ad. This helps struggling regen based champions, namely Mundo and Vlad, without relying on straight buffs to these champs. This rant is about Executioner's Calling (EC). I will mostly be talking about its interaction with Mundo since I have a lot of experience on him and I feel he has been hit the hardest by the item. But much of what I say can be applied to Vlad as well. Recently Mundo buffs appeared on the PBE, link, and, as you can see, these buffs are pure stat buffs. Now these aren't major or meta shifting, but my concern lies with the approach Riot is taking. Mundo's issues don't lie in his ability to deal damage, but largely in his ability to survive in teamfights, especially later into the game. Of course the reason for this is EC. For 800 g you get 40% healing reduction for 3 seconds when dealing any physical damage. If you keep this applied to a 2000 hp Mundo throughout the duration of his ultimate at level 11, you effectively deal 400 true damage to Mundo from the Grievous Wounds (GW), plus some physical damage from EC. To put that into perspective; Caitlyn at lvl 11 with a 1300 g B.F. Sword would deal around 370 physical damage over those 12 seconds. That's more damage, and true damage at that, from an item that costs 500 less g. Of course that's only during those 12 seconds, but those 12 seconds often times make or break Mundo's ability to impact the game. These calculations are done without considering runes/masteries. With this change, I foresee 1 of 2 things happening. First option, Riot continues to buff Mundo until eventually his stats are enough to make up for EC gutting his kit, and then they have to nerf him back down to the ground. Or secondly, Riot nerfs EC (either stats or price) and Mundo can freely stomp people with his already impressive damage numbers. Neither of these, I feel, are good situations from a balance perspective. So let's look at how to change EC. There are a couple frustrating things about Executioners that I hate, but I understand their purposes.
So that's all annoying, but understandable. But, the one last thing I really hate is that its a flat 40% healing reduction. And this is really what I would like Riot to look into changing. I understand GW as a game mechanic has always had a fixed value, but I think it would be worth reconsidering this. For EC specifically, I personally feel that having the heal reduction scale based on bonus ad would really help put the item in a more manageable spot without changing its other features. This allows for a lot more decision making from the player (I hear Riot likes these words) in the game. Currently decision making is fairly binary. Are you an ad champ against a mundo or vlad? Buy EC. No? Don't. With the healing reduction scaling on bonus ad the decision tree branches out considerably and becomes much more vague. Do I buy EC early to deal with Mundo's regen even if the healing reduction is lower than before? Maybe, if you are ahead enough and feel that your build will trend to more ad. Are you even and not planning on buying more ad? Probably don't buy EC, but maybe the ~20% base healing reduction is worth it and you have exactly 800 g after your back. With this, the early purchase doesn't completely gut Mundo's kit, but still offers adcs the opportunity to deal with him charging at them later in the game. Note: there are a few fringe cases where this idea might get out of hand, namely Jhin being able to attain large amounts of ad. Don't want him running around applying 90% healing reduction, but maybe a simple cap on the healing reduction would fix that? You could also have it scale based on level so that the early purchase doesn't make Mundo so useless in the early to mid game, but then you still get this frustrating interaction where Renekton can hamstring Mundo later in the game with an 800 g purchase and no other deviation from a standard build. It's not a small endeavor to change a core mechanic like GW, not even sure if Rito's spaghetti code could handle it, but I think it would be for the best. Of course, this idea raises a lot of questions about everything else that applies GW. Do we keep everything else at 40%? Do you change things on a case-by-case scenario and maybe have morellos GW scale with ap? Or maybe just have all GW scale by levels of the one applying it? Anyhow, what are your thoughts? Did I miss something crucial that makes this a terrible idea? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 23 May 2017 09:17 AM PDT hey guys, I'm an adc main who has taken a liking toward our mighty sniper, caitlyn. recently she got couple of changes on the pbe that includes: hurricane interaction removed. base attack speed down with bigger attack delay. bonus attack speed on passive. now I wanna run those down quick and get some insights from others on lol community. hurricane changes: I get the hurricane changes as it made her very linear in terms of flex and power curve. this item broke one of caitlyn main weaknesses: the headshot stacking. the item made her spike stronger and more consistent letting her headshot every 3 or 2 AA which is rdally strong. also it ruined her itemization as it became mandatory making her build include hurricane and IE, with RFC as the best item to complete the long range headshots. this change will bring new itemization into caitlyn and will spice things up. now for the stats changes: lowering her attack speed to almost match graves, who is about burst and not really dps... and adding 10% attack speed bonus to compensate? doesn't really make sense... they already made the highest attack speed item in game (paired with PD) to not be so good on her, and as the hyper carry late game, her dps is overall going down as her base attack speed too a nerf. the attack delay I believe is meant to help her cancel animation into W to increase her mechanics level, but can someone give me insights about the stat changes? since I'm on mobile RIP formatting [link] [comments] | ||
| Trick with Garoyle stoneplate. Posted: 23 May 2017 02:43 AM PDT Gargoyle Stoneplate passive gives you +40 armor and Mr if at least three enemies are near. It also works if you cant see them. So if you walk near a unwarded bush and you see your stats go up you'll know that at least 3 people are in there although it might already be too late for you... It could be usefull if you want to check if enemy team is doing a sneaky baron or dragon from inside the pit. Or check an ambush on red buff bush from krugs. Options are very limited but can sometimes be useful so i don't know if that helps lol; but at least now you know. [link] [comments] | ||
