There's a very similar format setup in CSGO called FACEIT Pro League where all the top pros/semi-pros/top FPL-C (FACEIT Pro League - Challenger players) (which would basically be like getting Rank 1 in Challenger to get access to this server) and it is taken EXTREMELY seriously by EVERYONE that plays in it due to there being a player council (which consists of the top veteran pros) who will vote to kick somebody out of the League if they do not take it seriously. FPL usually runs around 3pm-3am in EU and 8pm-2am in NA (usually when pros are done with scrims and all that)

This is my own design, I couldn't wait any longer to see if Rito would let him become Star Guardian, so I made it happen myself. Thank you to all the Rioters & summoners that found me waddling around Anime Expo and encouraged me, I am bringing this beast back to LA very soon!

You certainly weren't perfect, but the bench system made it super fun. I played an ARAM right after my last URF match and it felt too slow. I'll miss you, All Random Ultra Rapid Fire.

Founder of FPL: "A question to League of Legends community & professional players of LoL: Would you be interested into setting up FPL Circuit for LoL and everything that CS:GO has? Curious to hear your feedback about this."

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 12:33 PM PDT

Hey guys, i play CSGO and League of Legends sometimes and thought i wanted to share this tweet with you.

One of FPL creators just tweeted for feedback to LoL pros and LoL community, though i doubt it will reach them without your help - As title says

As there is a huge discussion going on the LoL subreddit about FPL in CSGO and inhouse leagues for pros.

For those that are unaware, FPL is an inhouse league for professional players where they are able to play in mix all day long (like a private matchmaking) and stream it to the community + communicate on voice. FPL exploded in CSGO few years ago and brought many big professional players into the scene by developing young talents. FPL also has a qualifier system with 100k+ players playing monthly in lower divisions, all in same circumstances as FPL.

Just wanted to share this here as i doubt many here will see his tweet, would be cool to see League of Legends and FPL.

LoL would destroy fortnite in viewership on twitch considering every pro would stream FPL all day and it would be kinda fun seeing them communicate in voice all the time against other pros and new talents.

There are other streamers present there (like shipthur) but Tyler and Qt are the biggest ones.

Tooltips Update

MMR is this mystical, omniscient metric that literally shapes our playing experience. So why is it hidden?

Posted: 11 Jul 2018 10:36 PM PDT

I honestly can't think of a real reason why we can't see our own MMR when it more or less shapes League of Legends for us. It's the cornerstone of matchmaking, it defines how much LP we gain/lose, how fast we climb and who we play with. From what I understand it's also based on how well you perform, making it a more accurate reflection of your own individual skill relative to other players than your rank. That sounds like a pretty darn important metric if you ask me. And yet we can't see it. Why?

What possible benefit could there be to keeping MMR hidden? And what possible downside could there be to showing it? How can someone unfairly exploit the knowledge of their own MMR? If anything, players knowing their MMR adds an extra layer of complexity to ranking.

AND WHILE I'M AT IT, why are duo queue restrictions gated by rank and not MMR when MMR is what decides matchmaking? Why can't I duo with my Silver friend from Plat, but I can get a random Silver player in my team? When I do get a Silver player in my Plat games, the answer I commonly get is "Oh rank doesn't matter, MMR is what really matters" - if that's the case, why don't queue restrictions take MMR into account rather than rank?

In fact, the only thing we do know about MMR is Riot telling us "Trust us guys, it totally exists"; beyond that we have no way of knowing how MMR is determined and no way to measure it.

Cloud 9 potentially going back to the old roster?

Goldenglue tweet confirming he is playing in academy this week. (he deleted it shortly after)...

As we saw last week, the roster was Licorice, Svenskeren, GG, Jensen, Smoothie... With GG out the best explanation would be sneaky?

Heal is a targeted spell

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 06:56 AM PDT

I've been playing since season 3 and only just realized that you can cast heal on a particular target rather than just spamming it to benefit the lowest health champion. I can't imagine what else I might have been missing.

There's a low budget cosplay contest in Latin America where the most creative ones win. Here's the winner of 2016.

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 03:21 AM PDT

The rule is to keep the cosplays as low budget as possible and to resemble anything from LoL.

LBAD stands from Los Bronces Andan Diciendo and they were amazing enough to keep this contest up for 4 years in a row, and hopefully many more to come.

This or That: Excuses Excuses

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 09:00 AM PDT

LMS Head Coach: LPL/LMS players play on 50-80 ping on KR server, what's the excuse now?

Posted: 11 Jul 2018 11:23 PM PDT

https://twitter.com/nelson_sng/status/1017279549023739904

re all those interviews saying NA plays on 60 ping it's so bad.

Apparently this doesn't impact the Flash Wolves, most of China, the entirety of GAM who solo queue in Korea, or anyone else who practices on Korean solo queue.

Hate to say it, maybe it's not the ping. Maybe North American players are just really bad, or else really lazy and don't practice much at all?

The Chinese servers has a rating system you might find interesting

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 12:09 PM PDT

On Chinese servers, at the end of the game you will get a rating based on your performance that game, which will be shown post game and in your match history. By match history not the client one but the official app one.

https://u.catgirl.host/l3qo3m.png

The best performing player on the winning side gets the MVP award, best performing player on the losing side gets the SVP award. It's based on a point system where the points you get are based on various factors in game. Supports can win MVP if they played good enough, I've gotten MVP with support before.

There are also other labels such as:

Carry局 = You carried

躺赢局 = You got carried so hard that you would of won even if you slept through the game

甩锅局 = You lost but you weren't the worst player on your team, someone else played really really bad

尽力局 = You did your best but still wasn't enough

碾压局 = Enemy team was god damn awful and wasn't near your team's level

福利局 = Someone on the enemy team inted or afk'd giving you guys a free win

Emote Suggestion: T-Pengu

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 08:37 AM PDT

Hey there. In my many months of regularly playing league of legends 6 hours a day like a functional adult following the patch that introduced emotes, I, as a proud early adopter of the famed D'Pengu emote, realized something was missing from the game.

To balance emotes, I felt it would be great to include another emote featuring the popular T-Pose, so that we League of Legends players have some counterplay (I heard Riot Games loves this) to D'Pengu users and assert our dominance on other prepubescent children in our games. That would be through a possible "T-Pengu" emote. I've drawn up a possible design with the aid of my well-honed illustration skills:

https://imgur.com/51gVYKJ

So yes, that would be all. Thank you for reading my humble suggestion.

What would Bjergsen's career be like if he didn't move to NA?

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 01:14 AM PDT

Perkz raised an interesting point recently - the NA soloq environment and other factors make it so that any player that moves to NA will see a drop in their level of play.

Imagine if Bjerg was part of the H2K team that made the deep run at worlds as opposed to Ryu? In their knockout games Ryu was criticised as having a poor performance.

Imagine Jensen and other EU mids and players had stayed, how competitive would the region be? Would Bjergsen have achieved the international success we expected of him?

Bjergsens first season in NA involved him clapping all of soloq and solo killing every other mid laner in LCS matches.

Has Bjergsens talent gone to waste?

How do top laners have map awareness?

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 06:04 AM PDT

I was an adc/mid main before this patch and I was aware with the map and where to go and transition, but I switched over to top now. I enjoy top because I build tank and I can walk into fights and still leave with half health, it's pretty cool! But what I can't figure out is what to do on the map! I ward but sheesh, didn't realize how hard it is for top laners to make a decision about moving mid, bot or staying top.
