Reinforcement Etiquette

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 08:38 AM PDT

One of the most annoying things about being a defender is reinforcing a wall with two spaces for reinforcements and having a teammate get the wall next to you. This causes both of you to find a new place to reinforce. This is especially annoying when you want to roam or have more gadgets to place down.

Obviously this doesn't apply to larger walls, but still be mindful. It's like picking which urinal to use in a public bathroom. Don't go right next to somebody. Go one over. Let's say you need to reinforce consulate garage, don't go to the middle if somebody is already there. Go to the end so they don't have to walk around you.

So please, don't be that guy. Don't reinforce next to people.

Edit: since this getting some attention, I thought I would add some more.

If you're playing an op that doesn't have any time consuming gadgets to put down like most three armors or roamers, go get hatches. Most of the time they'll only have one thing and then their utility to place.

Just because Jaeger is three speed doesn't mean he should get hatches. He has to put down barbed wire and his ADS.

Just because Doc is slow doesn't mean he can't get hatches. He only has his utility to put down.

This of course all depends on the site and which ops you bring.

This is all in the name of a streamlined prep phase. Every second counts.

The shield in Blackbeard's Elite Skin should have a tally scratched into it it, somewhere in the corner, counting how many times it's been nerfed.

Idea to Deal With Players Who Leave Ranked Matches Early

Posted: 12 Jul 2018 08:08 AM PDT

Last night was rough for me and a friend playing Ranked. My friend is Platinum Three and I was Gold 2. (I dropped to Gold 3) We played five matches last night, two of those we had two teammates leave before the first round even started, and of course, we lost having a huge disadvantage at the very start. Then we won the fourth match, and on the fifth and last before we decided to quit, we had two guys who killed my friend and the other random in the first round and continued to shoot us multiple times until we were one shot until we lost the match. My solution is to add a "Salt Mine" System to the game, and have far bigger punishment for teamkilling and leaving matches and Ranked. In the Salt Mine System the more you leave in the middle of matches, the more your Mine fills up. As your mine fills up, you'll begin playing with and against players that leave matches about as much as you do. This would allow players who don't really care about the game or their rank to play like-minded players. This allows for a more competitive environment for players who do play somewhat care about the game. I know a common argument will be that this system will raise Que times for Ranked matches, but honestly, I would rather wait for ten minutes for a match that will likely include five players on both teams and keep a competitive atmosphere. If you don't care about your rank, I don't care, but those players should be filtered out with other players like them. It's not fair to have my gameplay experience ruined because of somebody who doesn't care about the game. I think this would be a simple, easy, and effective solution that would at least help the game feel more fair and competitive.
