Nearing the end of a level on my Halo 2 Legendary run, my squad of 5 beam rifle marines gets grenaded for the 27th time... run it back...

Accidentally restarted the entire mission instead of reverting to the last checkpoint.

And WOW. That shot was awesome!!! I've always been a PS guy, so I only played the original couple Halo games on my friends consoles back in the day. I always enjoyed them, and thought the stories were cool, but as you would expect, if I can't play the games on my PS3/4, then it's kinda "outta sight outta mind."

Well, fast forward to about 6 months ago. Where i'm living now requires me to drive about 90 minutes to work each way. A work friend told me about a Halo audiobook because I mentioned how I've been listening to tons of pods and books on YouTube to help with the long drive. MAAAAANNNNN.... I'm SO glad I gave the audiobook a try. I listened to a little bit of The Flood and was like NOPE, i'm starting at the beginning with this shit lol. So I went and started with Contact Harvest and Cole Protocol. I loved hearing the stories of Sgt. Johnson and Captain Keyes... the POV of a grunt who's best friend is a Huragok... the fanatical Covies, the tight-assed Navy brass and the Marines. I started looking up information about things mid-book... literally pausing the audiobook and googling questions that would pop up. That's how I found this sub, and sites like halopedia and others. I devoured the "original trilogy" (Fall of Reach, Flood, Strike) and kept going. Master Chief leading Kelly, Fred, Linda... Dr Halsey... Keyes.. Christ, i'm eating up these 12 hour books each day on my way to and from work. I'm having to limit myself on weekends so I don't finish books too early. But I love it. And of course, I still don't have an Xbox, so i'm watching the game movies on YouTube. Onyx... wow. Tear jerker. Kilo 5... damn. Straight up awesome. I find this site called alltimelines.com and realize there is SO. FUCKING. MUCH. Halo media out there and i'm like Daniel Bryan out here... YES! YES! YES! YES!

So anyways, according to that site, staying in order now, I just finished the game movies for Halo 4 and Halo 4 Spartan Ops.

I have Fractures downloaded, and I know there are some stories that I can listen to next. I plan on buying Smoke and Shadow tomorrow when I get paid (even though it's not even 5 hours and it's still full price but I can't find it on YouTube or a torrent).

So my question is this to you guys, if you've read this far lol... Seeing as I'm catching up to what's current (I only have 2 games left and a few books like Envoy, Bad Blood, Legacy) and I'm fully invested in this universe now, in your opinions, are the comics and graphic novels worth buying? What about the Hunt for Truth stuff? Is that like an audiobook or what? Is there anything else out there that I can attemp to quell this insatiable hunger??

I'm so happy that I gave that first audiobook a shot because even though i'm a big basketball and football guy, I'm really a nerd at heart. This universe has a lot of similarities with one of my top 5 all time TV shows Battlestar Galactica. The Master Chief is a fucking bad ass. I love Keyes, Blue Team, the Gamma 3s, Veta Loopis and now Buck and Palmer. The should-I-love-or-hate em qualities of Dr Halsey, Admiral Parongoski and Jul Udama. I really appreciate the awesome stories this franchise has given me and hopefully I can interact with yall on this reddit stuff as well.

Wear and Tear customization

How would you guys feel about having the ability to customize how "gritty" your spartan is in the next halo game. I know a huge part of the community is in favor of a grittier, bloodier, halo, and i feel like something like this will be able to give people in favor of that whilst giving people who aren't the ability to choose. It would be kinda like the Mark IV scarred in halo 5, except you could choose the level of damage and apply it to any armor set. Or better yet, make the wear and tear of your armor be based upon your rank, for example: an onyx level spartan would have the option to put significant scarring on their armor, almost like wearing it as a trophy, compared to lower ranked spartans in the arena who'd have fresher, cleaner armor. of course this idea won't be forced and you'll still be able to choose whether or not you want the battle scarred armor or regular armor regardless of your rank. I think it would make for a pretty cool concept, giving higher ranked players a sort of trophy to show off against others.

Hey everybody, I'm looking for the music that plays when the Arbiter confronts Tartarus and his brutes at the climax of Halo 2. The strings that play as he arrives, and as he delivers "Tartarus, the prophets have betrayed us." My understanding is that it isnt on the OST but I swear I have heard it in one of them before. If anybody here can help me I'd appreciate it!
