Fallout - Who thought it was a good idea to give the slowest robot (protectron) all these important jobs?

I mean think about there's a burning building and you have the slowest robot trying to extinguish a fire or a criminal is on the loose and you have a robot going 1mph with a nightstick or you're on the verge of death and a protectron is across the room with defibrillator arms and it takes forever to get to you

FO76's "Build Your Own PIP-BOY™ 2000 MK VI"

My friend is a graphic designer and made this little badge in preparation for Fallout76

'Take Me Home, Country Roads' cover is #1 on the American Itunes Top 100 Songs of today

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 12:19 PM PDT

Fallout 4 was marketed with "Welcome Home" and Fallout 76 should definitely be "Take Me Home"

So the Grognak pip-boy game in Fallout 4 is AMAZING.

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 08:00 AM PDT

I broke down and bought the arcade pack from the CC (first purchase off of there, I had an empty warehouse in Starlight Drive-In and building an arcade there was perfect).

And so I finally had time to properly play the pip boy games —for once not on my wrist in the middle of the wasteland surrounded by danger and overburdened— and while every game is basically a better version of the game they are copying, Grognak really stood out to me. It's like a streamlined and more fun Dragon Warrior, which was one of my favorite games growing up.

Everything about the game is great. Choosing a party, how the stats affect combat, even the descriptions of enemies make you wary of them! I highly suggest everyone gives it another shot, all the games really.

Setting up the arcade was a blast too. Finally went and got Grognak's outfit and axe to display near the arcade cabinet of his game. Setup a soda fountain and lots of stools so it's always packed. Love it!

Am I the only one who finds it really sad when the Power Armour guy at the start of the Fallout 76 trailer looks at the bombs dropping and he just keeps staring on with no emotion until he dies?

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 02:16 PM PDT

If you watch the trailer, that scene is really impactful like he's seen his home completely destroyed and has nothing else left when he slowly puts his arm down and just stares at the explosion. Plus that piano intro of Country Roads playing over it makes it a lot sadder.

I don't know maybe I'm just a sensitive pansy but I always found that bit really depressing.

Tip to Bethesda for Fallout 5

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 10:21 AM PDT

Let us be evil. I don't wanna slit the mayors throat in a closet at 4 AM and somehow the entire town knows about it and is shooting at me.

(Also fix the physics for the companions, I tell them to go to one place and when theres a simple table blocking them instead of going around it they just say "I can't get there")

Who here is thankful that Bethesda isn't ruining the Fallout franchise like Activision is with Call of Duty?

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:28 PM PDT

Personally, I'm insanely thankful that Bethesda continues to do good with the Fallout franchise and listen to the community. For example:

-They spend multiple years (instead of 1 or 2) working on the games so that when they are released, they are complete and well made, which many video game companies fail to due now (cough cough COD WW2 cough cough)

-They don't charge absurd prices and give you a complete game for the $60 you spend. The DLCs are also reasonably priced, and aren't required to play the base game.

-They know what the community wants and they use that knowledge while creating their games. A lot of the community wanted a multiplayer fallout, so they make one. But thankfully, they've stated that not every Fallout from now on will be multiplayer (cough cough FUTURISTIC CODS cough). This makes all of the community happy.

Obviously Bethesda isn't perfect, but I'm thankful for what they do with Fallout.

Theatre and Financial district omg

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 08:57 AM PDT

Have around one month of playtime invested into FO4 and decided to give the railroad a try. Holy crap. The missions are so much fun and have me exploring an area of the map that I hardly ever explored in the level of detail it deserves. The Theatre district in particular is definitely boiling down to being one of my favorite parts of the maps. It's tight and narrow with garbage and refuse cascading from cracked buildings and has a whole vertical aspect that just isn't anywhere else in Fallout. Walking around the city on the massive overpasses is just crazy, and to think that I've been missing out all this time. Definitely cements FO4 as my favorite.

The easiest way to "bypass" the deathclaws on your way to New Vegas.

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 06:24 AM PDT

First off if you individually drop random explosives onto mines and something activates the mine it all goes off; I've named these deathclaw IEDs. So with that knowledge I destroy the powder gangers and collect every explosive they have and then I set up these little nuggets of joy before every deathclaw on the way to New Vegas. Shoot em once with a 9mm and watch them sprint over to their death; not so scary without your legs huh?

Game Stop cancelled my power armor pre-order

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 09:56 AM PDT

I reiterated to these fools half a dozen times that I do not want my Xbox One power armor pre-order cancelled. Guess what, they cancelled it. The only people that win among this chaos are these scum scalpers on eBay. GameStop is absolutely 100% dead to me.

By the way I'm using speech to text on my posts so some words maybe left out or incorrect

I guess people who haven't played Fallout 3 are confused when they see the name 'Gary' everywhere in Fallout 4.

A bit at of uniform right now but where the hell can I get some purified water in fallout 3 I feels as if I’ve searched for hours and I promised I’d get that poor guy some water

Winning the Vegas

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 11:26 AM PDT

If you eat the laser detonator from lonesome road, open your pip boy, equip the detonator, hover over any of 2 weapons, a rocket launcher, or fat man, (you need at least 1 missile, or mininuke depending on choice, also the weapon that uses the ammo.) use dpad and hold it, scroll to am equip the weapons ammo to dpad slot. Exit pip boy. Get out laser detonator, and use dpad to equip ammo. If all is done right, you should have a gun the shoots endless mininukes or missiles and the rate of a mini gun or faster.

Did the power armor guys at the beginning of Fallout 4 survive?

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:15 PM PDT

Given that we do not see their remains or any power armor left outside Vault 111, nor the weapons they used. Could we assume that they survived the nuclear blasts? Given the power armors protection against radiation and so on?

My theory about all of the major power armour sets we've seen so far

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:16 PM PDT

Edit: More than a theory, this is an attempt to clear up skepticism about X01 being prewar, postwar or even an artistic reinvention of X02

T45: The first prototypes. Inefficient power consumption of fusion cells, need to wear a suit under it, armor made of steel

T51: A step up from the T45, armor made of both steel and polymers

T60: Another model similar to the T45 experimented only in major research facilityes like in the Boston area, with them not being as widespread, Vault Tec records only mention them in Boston

X01: A prewar, high tech, top secret armor, a version with quantum properties currently exists. Used by the Enclave in its earlyer stages and by its Remnants after Raven Rock, later replaced by X02

X02: The advanced postwar power armor we see Enclave troops wearing in FO3, armor made solely of polymers, with efficient power usage and a battery as durable as the ones on the Ghostbuster's proton packs

Hellfire armor: An extremely fire resistant suit with advanced servomotors that enhance one's strenght even more than earlier models. Worn by Enclave commando in Fallout 3: Broken Steel, the current peak in Power Armor design

I don't know why I like this pic so much. There's nothing exciting going on in it, but it captures the feeling of the wasteland pretty well.

WEST VIRGINIA FALLOUT TOUR!!!!!!!!! (Personal tour)

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:46 PM PDT

In West Virginia as we speak, I'm from this region! I am currently in Point Pleasant, WV at the Mothman Museum!!!! Bought a few hoodies and T shirts, heading to Huntington WV to good Ole Hill Billy Hot Dog stand!!!!!! (It was on travel Channel a few years ago for the biggest chili dog ever) then on to Camden Park with my kids!!!!! All while wearing my Fallout gear and listening to the new version of Country roads on Itunes from the game soundtrack!!!!!

What I thought was awesome, the mothman museum is a small mom and pop business and when I rolled in, the lady there is super nice, she smiled and said this game is saving their town because after the movie came things kinda slowed down and ever since the announcement of 76, our community from this area has been streaming in!!!!! Good job Fallout Community!!!!!!! O yea btw they just had a fire recently at the museum and are trying to rebuild it so if youre in this area, get out here!!!! its only 3 dollars for adults and 1 dollar for children!!!! Great weekend trip!!!!

What is your personal Minutemen head canon for FO4?

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 11:14 AM PDT

In my lore delegates from all 37 settlements got together and formed a new nation with the new and improved Minutemen as its military.

My sole survivor is elected president of the Republic of the Commonwealth and retains his role as General in chief of the Minutemen (think how the US president is Commander in chief)

After drafting and ratifying the Constitution of the Republic, the Minutemen reached out to the Brotherhood of Steel to form an alliance, with the Brotherhood agreeing to help secure the Commonwealth and provide reinforcements if the Republic ever needed help.

In return, the Republic will provide tributes of food, caps, and ammo as payment for their efforts. And a new embassy at the Boston Airport will be opened to help promote negotiations.

With the combined might of the Minutemen and the Brotherhood, the commonwealth enters a period of prosperity and security not seen sense the NCR out west.

Sanctuary is crowned the capital of the Republic which houses our congress and executive branch of government and is turned into a thriving community where everyone has an opportunity to start a life for themselves and live in peace.

The gunners have been mostly wiped out, with the surviving few driven out of the Commonwealth. With them gone, Quincy is retaken by the Minutemen and is resettled as the Republic's newest city.

I would write more but it would get ridiculously long if I were to. So I would love to here yours my fellow Minutemen fans!

P.S No Preston Garvey jokes plz! (or any jokes for that matter)
