Bethesda was listening, and answered with Far Harbor.

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 07:15 AM PDT

After the 76 announcement, like many people I went back and played Fallout 4, and naturally the DLCs too. That's when I realized that Far Harbor is exactly what fans have been asking for. People always complain about 4, how it's not enough like New Vegas. Well Far Harbor starts to bridge that gap. Of course it still has all the game mechanics from 4, but it stands out from the rest of the game.

•The story. Far Harbor had an admittedly short, but complex story. There was no "pure evil" side, and it made you take a new look at the new factions. I'm doing a Brotherhood playthrough, and Acadia made me wonder if the elimination of all synths was really a good thing. And of course, your actions through out the main story affect the outcome, and you are left with tons of choices, other then "Kill bad guys and good guys win"

•Skill checks. Another mechanic brought back from the old games with more vigor. In Far Harbor you can pass a skill check to heal someone. But it's not just (heal or don't heal), it's (heal, use mysterious strum, don't heal, preform makeshift surgery) this is used again on cranberry island when repairing generators

•Faction speech. Just like in NV where you can have unique dialogue depending on who you choose to side with, you can do this again. As Brotherhood Knight, I had the ability to bash Dima a little bit more in behalf of the Brotherhood of Steel

I'm sure there's more examples, but this is just some change I've noticed replaying the DLC. It show's that Bethesda is listening to their fanbase and shows that they care. Knowing this should help ease worries about 76, because if it turns out to have problems, you bet Bethesda will work to fix them.

I Have a Lot of Faith in Bethesda

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 12:59 PM PDT

I have my own doubts about 76, but Bethesda is and has been one of my top developers for a long time for a reason. They consistently and reliably release entertaining, immersive games with wonderful worlds. All of the people who are the public face of Bethesda seem legitimately passionate in a way that really endears the company to me.

Even when the formula that they use for the games changes, the games are always wonderful. Morrowind was more of a hardcore RPG than Oblivion was, but both were great games. Fallout 4 may have been missing some great features from 3 and NV but it was still an awesome game.

If they want to try something different, than I have faith that it will be at least worthwhile, even if it's not the single-player RPG that we've come to expect from the company. I'm more than willing to play it the way they want it played if it means fulfilling the vision they have for the game. I trust Bethesda, so I'm very willing to give Fallout 76 a shot.

Happy birthday USA! Love from Italy!

Bethesda should create a real Nuka-World but not in the sense that it would be based on a fictional soft drink. Rather they should call it Nuka world and keep the 60-70s vibe, but make it a fallout themed amusement park.

Am I the only one bothered by the mess?

It's been 200 some years since the nukes wiped out civilization. Isn't someone going to clean up a bit?

Country Roads, Take Me Home (Fallout 76 Edition) Full Song Found

[Spoilers] I haven’t felt this good in a long time.

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 01:17 AM PDT

It's been a couple of tough in-game days, and I've been completely out of stimpaks. After going along with the raiders in Nuka-World, I finally decide it's time to take those assholes down. I head back to Sanctuary, and grab my best weapons. The Aeternus. The BFG 9000. The Experimental MIRV. And some grenades for good measure. Jesus Christ. Walking into Nuka-World, kicking down the doors, and kicking those raider's asses felt so good. I can only imagine how the final raider boss, Nisha, felt when I came knocking. Atom Bomb Baby was on the radio, and I nuked her and her crew to smithereens. Now, I know not a lot of people like Nuka-World, but this is one of my top gaming moments easily, besides Portal 2. Thanks Bethesda

Democracy is non-negotiable! Bethesda released a pretty slick Power Armor paint job.

What happened to Coca Cola?

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 07:28 AM PDT

I know the Fallout timeline shifted from ours around 1940-1950 something, basically when the transistor was supposed to be invented but wasn't. So Coca Cola would've already been around, since it was created in the late 1880's. So what happened to Coke? Did it get bought out by Nuka Cola? Did it just lose money and was forgotten? Or is it still around, just not nearly as popular? If a Fallout was made in Atlanta, maybe Bethesda could explore what happened with the World of Coke (if they'd be allowed to, legal rights and stuff).

Please let us name our C.A.M.P.s

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 12:35 PM PDT

Bethesda please give us the option to label our camps and have them pop up on other players maps as marked locations. It would make it so much easier to find people willing to trade and/or roleplay.

I just got done spending an hour on the wiki, clicking myself from one Van Buren article to the next.

Wow, there is so much more about Van Buren than I thought.

I recommend reading through at least the main ones, to absolutely everyone who gives just a single fuck about Fallout.

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 04:30 PM PDT

Damn so I was playing through fallout 3 again and i was amazed with one line at the beginning. So I killed the overseer and amata said "I hope you never need to see your dad killed in front of you" I rememberd that your dad is killed and in front of you and was very surprised of it.May sound like a noob but I love fallout nv 3 and 4 mostly for lore and just loved this line.

Could power armor protect the wearer from the great war?

Posted: 04 Jul 2018 07:21 AM PDT

Watching the fallout 76 trailer again and the part where U.S soldier in power armor watches the blast go off had me thinking... Would it have been possible for some soldiers in power armor to survive in conjunction with a few other factors (location, distance from the blast, strength of payload) This could explain BOS in game.
