Archeage alpha could have destroyed my life Posted: 25 Jul 2018 12:16 AM PDT There has yet to be the magic that is archeage alpha in any MMO experience i've had so far. While i have found another MMO to suit me at this time, i always think back to those few weeks, those days i stayed home all day, where Earth became some weird alternate reality and Archeage became my real reality. There was just, so much going on. I was exploring, defending my "tree turf" with my guild, fighting hard for my faction, tending to my house, learning the land market, getting involved in naval gameplay. Omg! it fucking blew my mind! This was a game i wanted to know EVERYTHING about. From the lore to it's mechanics. I wanted to learn how to be good at this game, i wanted to be IN this game. Screw real life, Archeage is life. But Trion woke me up. Trion helped me realize that real life does matter more. That in order to compete in my ideal world, i'd need to compete in real life first. I'd need to be successful. This led to a number of life decisions. I focused more on school, my relationship, my career. I learned that the fruits of my real life labor were not actually worth what i could purchase in Archeage. I could spend all of my paychecks to be powerful in archeage OR travel, go out to eat, buy my girlfriend a gift. So i had two options, now that i became successful in life i could go be successful in archeage or enjoy real life more and find a game that i could play on my spare time. Thanks Trion, you saved me. I love you [link] [comments]

How to get new Lunafrost and why this change sucks Posted: 24 Jul 2018 08:40 AM PDT Many people have been talking about getting Lunafrost from Larceny Crates so I thought I should bring up the other ways to obtain them. I will also say why these changes only hurt new players and put currently geared players even further ahead. You can use the lunarite u get from crates to craft them right click 30 regular lunarite in your inventory and you will get 1 random sealed. the higher tiers of lunarite require less to make a random sealed frost. I did a lot of testing on PTS and from this method about 50% created are Rare Honorbound Lunafrost (Old T2 Honor Lunafrost), 40% Flawless Lunafrost (Old max tier crafted Lunafrost), and 10% Superior (Arcane) Lunafrost (Old T3 Honor Lunafrost). Then you get to play another RNG game to try and get the type you want! You will be rolling the dice on every single available lunafrost of that type. Meaning you could want a +5% move speed frost but keep getting +3 mana per second for your chest piece or +30s of breath time for your helm instead. You can also even stone the lunafrost now to get lunarite back but you only receive about 50% return from the two Rare Lunafrost types and 90% return from the Arcane. Each step requires labor so if you are a free to play, non-patron... yeah, good luck. Here is the best part! Every Lunafrost is now bound, including the new flawless. You might get one that your friend wants and he have what you want, but there is no way to trade your new hiram gear that you have been grinding the past month for to get the correct frost. Lucky all of the player before this patch that saw this awful change coming were able to pre-purchase any lunafrost they thought they would need before. So these changes really only hurts new players trying to keep up with them. But don't worry those existing players not only made enough for themselves but all of the old flawless lunafrost they made are still tradable! So you can buy them from those players for +1000% the craft cost and keep lining their pockets with your hard earned gold. Add this change to the growing list of proof that XLGames hates new players. (Serp sleeve change, 20 labor per item synthesis, no more permanent library earring / serp ring / yny guardians ring) "An XL Patch requires two things. One thing no one asked for for [Drop back fall damage], and one thing no one wanted [Lunafrost Change]." - Player who quit recently because of similar changes I guess since u/Trion_thebluemuzzy is gone, u/Trion_Brasse should be reading our subreddit but since our CM that cared left the business for being a shithole comapny (he wont ever say that because contracts require him to wear a gag) and then the shithole company fired the one guy that cared and was respected throughout the community, I guess this subreddits voice will no longer be heard. Feel free to respond proving me wrong, that you read this subreddit but then ignore it completely. TL;DR Lunafrost: You can get more sealed Lunafrost from combining lunarite, and evenstoning the bad lunafrost to get more lunarite. TL;DR Rant: Trion and XLGames dont understand their game and can't make changes that help new players without giving existing players unfair advantages [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 06:27 AM PDT Hey guys, I understand things have to evolve to keep the game competitive, but I'm unsur to understand why they hard nerfed Archeum trees ? Why did they mention you need less archeum now ? And why didn't they reduce labor cost ? Also, with charcoal change and trade run change, it's harder to make money. I know they are some really juicy road you can abuse in the new trade run system, but overall, what's the new game direction ? We all supposed to just hard farm Hiram ? [link] [comments]
EU server to start on right now with a friend? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 08:52 AM PDT What's the best EU server to do a start right now with a buddy? We plan to play 2-3 months or so, nothing hardcore just have a good time building a nice house and doing some farming and trading. We will, of course, patron but probably not spend anything else in-game. [link] [comments]
