Posted: 10 Jun 2018 01:08 PM PDT Xbox 1 So.I've tried this game and the first hour of play is irritatingly hard for me. I pretty much rage quit everytime. I spawn miles away from my friend usually at night and we die a tonne before we even get to meet up This is stopping us from playing this game. Heeelp. Its so hard to find even a semi Decent base to regroup and assess the situation. Is there a way to spawn closer? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2018 10:47 AM PDT Regarding the heatmap I have a few things to share with you people. It seems youtube videos and especially wiki are a little bit off on how heatmap works. I've tried and tested a few things myself using the console command and wiki is correct on the most part. First things first, torches, candles and burning barrels do increase the heatmap, but do so at VERY low rates. If you want to force a horde and you have the patience of a saint, keep opening and closing hatches,it increases the heatmap by 0.05% (so it takes 25 opens or closes of a hatch or a door to increase heatmap by 1%.2500 will be required to summon a screamer). Do take note campfires increase the heatmap *dramatically*. Every 45 seconds or so they increase the heatmap by around 2,5%. It takes 4 campfires and about 5 minutes of burning wood to summon a screamer or a horde (apparently it doesn't matter if it's wood or fiber, but frames or logs are one of the most efficient way to use as little wood as possible). You need to keep the fires burning otherwise the screamers will commit suicide. Their very existence depends on it. Here's where the thing gets even more interesting. You can use the campfire not just to farm zombies, but also to *protect* yourself from other players. Assuming you have enough wood, you can set up screamer death traps for humans on locations you desire. You can set a campfire with 500 logs to burn almost indefinitely until your next login. Burning barrels and torches do increase the heat but they have a lot of interval so they are not great for summoning hordes unless a player wonders too long near your base . Campfires on the other hand will keep summoning a screamer and keep her in that location . You should probably not put the campfire traps anywhere near your zombie traps but rather on the edges of a cross around your base . Unless someone snipes said screamers they cannot simply pass by 1 or more screamers near your base. [link] [comments]
What was the last update on PC for good AI? Posted: 10 Jun 2018 10:28 AM PDT I'm asking because I'd like to revert back to an earlier alpha that had decent AI without the pathfinding issues, zombies bouncing up and down on uneven terrain, actually getting hunted when near zombies when carrying meat. Anyone know the specific alpha version when AI was still good? I plan on playing this on single player until A17 comes out. [link] [comments]
Is there a way to disable zombies only at day but let them spawn at night? Posted: 10 Jun 2018 03:27 AM PDT Having to be extra cautious of zombies when I'm building is a bit tiring. Especially with those damn screamers and zombie dogs, which could mess with my building plans. I just want my building time to be more relaxed and peaceful while the defending time stay intense. Is there any way to do this? EDIT: I'm fine with mods and/or editing XML. I just don't know where/what to modify - if anyone can guide me I'd be grateful! [link] [comments]

[PC] VPN affecting 7 days to die local network connection to local server ??? Posted: 10 Jun 2018 02:58 PM PDT I can't understand this here, I would understand if I connected to a server on the Internet that was somewhere else that a VPN could affect the ping and have some lag issues, but I connect to my own server which is on a 2nd PC next to my main PC, and I use the local IP to connect to the server, it seems if I'm connected to my VPN (Private Internet Access) I get random problems while opening containers (takes very long time randomly) and doing some actions in game. The strange thing is, it doesn't happen if I disconnect the VPN client, the VPN shouldn't affect a local server since I use a local network address for it, I'm lost as to why it could affect the local server here, the PC where the server is located isn't on the VPN and the VPN client isn't installed on it. Posted: 10 Jun 2018 10:20 AM PDT Sham sandwiches are really underrated. They are relatively easy to collect in bulk, they restore a decent amount of hunger, and they have no smell. To compensate for the food poisoning, just drink stamina regen consumables, like beer. [link] [comments]
Best way to make a pitfall trap deadly? Posted: 10 Jun 2018 08:08 AM PDT Building a pitfall trap 3×3 wide and I was planning to put down barbed wire to slow their fall so I can shoot them, (kinda like cobwebs in minecraft) then they fall into 3 consecutive blade traps in the center of the hole, then any survivors fall into a barred off window view with turrets and an area where I can hit the crawlers. What should I improve? [link] [comments] |
