Just started about 2 days ago and I must say I wish I would of given this game a shot back in the day, im having so much fun diving into this game, this really has a lot of what ive been looking for in a game. Its gonna be hard for me to go back to the other RPG's ive been playing. After playing I totally see where other games have overdone their mechanics in either their crafting or combat and haven't captured the feeling I get when I play this game. I can see what other Runescapers have been saying all this time.

New Guthix Lore Directly Contradicts Previously Established Lore

By now alot of you will have done the memories in the new update, some of you might have also noticed there are some very clear and glaring mistakes in the new lore about guthix which after further research directly contradict whats already been established. This problem stems from 2 of the entries inparticular, the seren one and the edicts one

In the seren one its stated that guthix never really loved or cared for seren but it was all her effect and he knew it. It says how he lied to her the entire time, basically used her like a drug for his depression and casually brushed her off at the end. This is completely wrong cus we KNOW guthix truly cared for her and that loosing her really broke him. In the quest "the light within" guthix himself says "i wish for nothing more than for her to stay but the gods have forced my hand, i must ask her to leave but it will break my heart to do it". Does this sound like a guy who didnt really care for her at all? Its been stated numerous times elsewhere that seren shattering made him weep from the sorrow

He then talks about how she took a different path from what he expected and shattered herself instead of leaving. Again this is a mistake cus in that quest again we tell him that thats what seren will do. He already knew what she'd do so again this part seems to be an out right mistake

And ofcourse this isnt even counting the fact that since he's the source of the world guardians power he should be outright immune to her effect, exactly like how we are for being the world guardian

Secondly the edicts memory states how he decided to remove the gods from the world because the mortals where becoming too dependent on them. This is clear contradiction to previous lore cus everyone knows the reason he kicked the gods off the world was because they literally nuked the world and burnt the anima, which in turn burnt guthix himself. He kicked them off in a fit of rage after he saw what they did, not because the mortals where becoming lazy/complacent. This has been stated in pretty much every lore segment that talks about the god wars but a more direct quote would be from the edicts memory in the normal memorial. There it states "i returned to a world burning and had to take action, the gods needed to end". It clearly states that he kicked them off right after waking up and because of the damage they did in the war

But more so than that, the recent memory talks about how guthix was looking at the mortals development and how they where interacting with the gods. This again is incorrect because it is well documented and stated by jagex themselves a few times that guthix went to sleep in the 1st age and didnt wake up until the nuke, he was asleep throughout the ENTIRE time the gods came to gilenor and did their stuff. And even if you try to say he could of been watching them in his sleep i point you again to that edicts memory i stated before. In there it says how guthix woke up from his burns and wasnt aware that there was 4 people watching over him all this time, much less who they where or why they where there. It clearly points out he wasnt aware of anything until the moment of his awakening so he wasnt "judging mankind for its complacency"

Even if you then try to say he stopped the god wars and then judged the mortals, you seriously think the thing he'd be most angry at is the mortals after what the gods did? Thats like an enemy country firing off nukes to wipe out cities around the world but the act you condemn them for is the working conditions of their work force, its utterly ludicrous

Either way you look at it, these 2 new memories inparticular are simply incorrect and direct contradictions to whats already been established in the game. I feel i must call jagex out on this matter, who actually wrote this stuff? Was it someone new who didnt know the lore in the game, did this stuff even get checked before it was approved? Either way these 2 entries are glaring problems being put inside the game and they need addressing. Either changing or its recommended you remove them and replace them with something else like when guthix destroyed renmark, how he brought the pests into the world, talk about his depression after seren. Theres plenty of other far better stories you can do to talk about his darker deeds than these frankly badly made attempts at lore

Banning innocent players

My friend, who plays RS3 for like 3 weeks, got a ban yesterday (macro perm ban). The ban says he used 3rd party client software on OSRS, but he doesn't play OSRS, he's just questing around in RS3, and he's been a member for only a week.

It sounds like he's been hijacked, but his account is brand new, his email is brand new and he only played on his own laptop (mac). He already did a security scan on his computer and found nothing.

How common is it that noobie accounts get banned because of mistakes? And is there a better way of getting into contact with customer support other than appealing on the website?

FC for new core memories- possible new best div xp in game

If you haven't tried it yet, the new divination activity has some crazy xp rates when you open the middle core memory. This requires 6 core memory fragments to be placed onto the plinths on your server. The flower opens up for only a couple minutes and during this time, xp rates are estimated to be over 1Millionxp/hr with div urns, bonus xp, urn enhancer, ava, outfit- these xp rates mostly from the resulting full memory jars accumulated at a very quick rate via this method.

In order to maximize our xp, we have started an FC to call out worlds with 4/6 plinths and 5/6 plinths, and encourage FC members to hold onto memory fragments for use in these worlds.

FC name: "corehunting"

Also feel free to come by for quick mqc requirement fulfillment.
