For those of you who haven't read the Live Events Dev blog #1, Jagex' hardest working team are introducing a THIRD income stream in the game! Awesome right?

Not only do you pay $11 a month with a fremium style MTX-shop (you know, which most games only use for cosmetics), but you can now also pay for the ALL NEW BATTLEPASS. Oops, RUNEPASS!

Copied straight from free popular games such as Fortnite, RuneScape will now reward you with TH items if you play the game. Oh, but if you pay on top of your membership you get more rewards from the battlepass Runepass, Amazing right?

And you can now also pay extra for double keys per month, in case the daily cap of 20.000 bought keys isn't really your thing. I guess it's multiplicative with the premier club, so there's your special reward for 2018!

TL:DR Jagex is adding a third monitizing form to the game, applying yet another fremium style MTX system in addition to their $11 subscription a month.

J Mod update on some of the on-going Elite dungeon issues?

Haven't seen anything since the 24-hours post.

-Is grinding story mode for tokens an intended method? Is it considered a bug being abused, will it be changed on Monday?

-Any word on dampening some of Seiryu's particles, mainly his wake-up animation which makes seeing some of the enigmas nigh impossible?

-Players getting killed outside of the arena

-Improper KC rewards - too many for Masuta, Seiryu at times not giving any

-Some of the achievement issues

Love the update. Btw.

Seiryu Reaper only gives 21 points when u kill all in Solo???

I feel a bit dissapointed about the amount of reaper points u get. I mean when u do all vorago kills in HM u also get more Reaper points right?
Why not for Seiryu then?

As a whole, it looks like the community sees this update as pretty underwhelming in terms of rewards. If jagex nerfs the token drop from 5k to 1k or something like that for trio mode, i think people will have even less incentive to go. Also, regardless of the number of people who continue to use the 300k token per hour method, there should be no bans issued or we are going to have some serious problems. Per shauny -

In its current state, the New Elite Dungeon is extremely one dimensional. Without further balancing, it will become yet another mind-numbing repetitive grind.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new elite dungeon. However, with the way things are currently balanced, the update is destined to fail once the novelty/fun wears off and it becomes about the rewards. The issue lies in the way rewards are distributed based on group size, resulting in a very limited and repetitive play style depending on your reason for doing the content.

As it currently stands, Soloing Seiryu will give 10-20 scales on average per kill, while killing it in a group (2 or 3 players) will only reward an average of 0.2-0.4 scales. In addition, every boss awards 5,000 Tokens regardless of the group size, meaning more people = faster tokens/hr.

This balancing means that Solo gameplay will only be done to farm scales, Trio gameplay will only be done to farm tokens, and Duo gameplay will be caught in an awkward place that makes it pointless to do for any reason other than fun. There really is no middle-ground at the moment, as deviating from the above rule becomes ridiculously inefficient. The group size simply determines your play style.

To fix this, both the scale and token rates need to be adjusted based on the number of players you have. The scale rate for Trios should be slightly increased, and the rate for Duos should be between Solo and Trio rates. The token rate for Solos should be slightly increased, the the rate for Duos should be between Solo and Trio rates.

This way, Solo will still be the most efficient way to obtain scales, but the token rate will be adequate so you won't be feeling like you're only doing it for scales. Duos will be a healthy middle ground between scales and tokens. And Trios will still be the most efficient way to obtain tokens, but you'll still receive a decent amount of loot/scales. Obviously, the rates could be balanced in a way where all 3 group sizes have the same rate of scales and tokens (which is what I'd prefer), but Jagex seems to want scales to be obtained primarily from Soloing. This seems like the best balancing solution, all things considered. What do you think?

I'm an ironman (btw), so I need to complete the dwarf's checklist in order to get a death talisman. One of the items on the checklist is the House Key, an item you find under a pot in front of the witch's house in Taverly. I don't have it in my bank or on my keyring (it can't even go on a keyring), and every time I try to grab it I get this message.
