| ADC is Dead? Botlane Ruined? Apdo/Dopas Thoughts On The Meta Posted: 18 Jun 2018 10:08 AM PDT Origianl Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCxnzUons7cTranslation from comments: https://www.youtube.com/user/davidkim6302mc (Thank you) "Right now the meta can't get any better than this for TF, which is why I'm kinda holding off playing it so I can play other champs. Because there are a lot of weird picks, people who don't even know anything are talking as if they know it. Don't talk if you don't know properly. Actually Top, Mid, Jg hasn't even changed much, its just that bot lane has changed a bit. Using bruiser champions in bot lane isn't necessarily good as well. There are a lot of times where Kaisa and Lucian is way better than bruiser champions. Its just that its become alright to pick what you want. It does not mean at all that doing that is good. Its actually okay to just pick normal picks. Rather its when bad players pick weird champions and go bot lane things go wrong. As I said Top, Mid, Jg hasn't changed much its just that Mid has to pick according to the bot lane so whats good has changed. Tbh this is way better than before because ADC has become weaker. Before if the bot lane loses that team would lose the game but these days since the impact of top and bot are 50-50 I prefer this meta. Before it was bot lane that decided the game so it was pretty bad but now the impact of each lane is pretty similar so this is better. ADC isn't bad rn its just that it was too good before which is why it got nerfed. ADC didn't get worse just balanced which is why other picks are coming out. At lower tier games just playing as you used to will have a much better winrate. If you go bot Irelia, Yasuo stuff like that its a free loss. There is absolutely no one who plays them properly. They don't even know at all how to play them. If you're gonna pick something pick Moderkaiser. If you don't even know how to play Yasuo and Irelia why play it in bot lane? If people who know how to play it picks it its okay but... " [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Skin Concept: Server Crasher Taliyah Posted: 18 Jun 2018 08:46 AM PDT The aspect is similar to Cyber Pop Zoe, only on black and red as primary colours. Maybe a watchdogs-style mask. Her Q (Threaded Volley) throws keyboards at the opponents. Her W (Seismic Shove) a monitor raises off the ground knocking back enemies. Her E (Unraveled Earth) Ethernet inputs rise off the ground. Her ultimate a line of servers rise as a wall. Quotes examples:
Lines such as "You underestimate me.", ""I must finish my task." or "Experience is the best teacher." would be unchanged. Most others would be cybernitized. I feel taunts work fine enough but open to suggestions. Edit: I forgot to add "You need a stronger firewall" (Ultimate) [link] [comments]

| Esportslaw's Take on Riot's Decision in the CG/EF Match Posted: 18 Jun 2018 09:25 AM PDT To my knowledge, we just witnessed the first ever awarded victory in the history of competitive League of Legends. It's also possible this will be the last given the fact that Riot's chronobreak technology would generally allow them to restart the game from close to the moment of the crash, but that technology wasn't working yesterday for some reason. This decision is understandably the subject of a ton of debate, and I wanted to chime in to try to focus all of the discussion on the truly key issues here. It's also important to remember that Riot was in a lose-lose situation here; no matter what they chose, a sizeable chunk of the community was going to be upset. If you take nothing else away from this post, I hope you'll agree that no matter what side of the issues you come down on, there are reasonable people on the other side as well. My background: I've practiced law since 2013 and own the world's only law firm that is solely dedicated to esports (www.esglaw.com). My client base includes esports teams, broadcast talent, streamers, and esports-focused businesses. I have worked with 7/10 current NA LCS, but I have never done legal or other work for CG or EF. If you want a more full bio, here you go. The Rule: Let's begin by taking a look at the text of the NA LCS Rules. The pertinent rule here is 13.1, which states:
Interpreting the Rule: I bolded the most important sentence in Rule 13.1, which states that "League Officials, in their sole discretion, may determine that a team cannot avoid defeat to a degree of reasonable certainty…." The rule then outlines 6 different possible criteria for determining if a "team cannot avoid defeat to a degree of reasonable certainty" – I say possible criteria because the rule explicitly states that League Officials may, but are not required to, use these criteria in answering the ultimate question. I've seen misconceptions on both sides of this issue, and it all starts with the way in which the rule was written. People pointing out that the factors were not met in this instance are technically correct, but the variables are not dispositive by the plain text of the rule and they shouldn't be treated as such. Are they relevant? Of course, and we'll discuss why/how below. But this isn't an open and shut case and it shouldn't be seen that way. Conversely, the official statements from Riot don't appropriately characterize the rule in my opinion. On the LCS broadcast and on Twitter, Riot stated that they determined "CG did not have a reasonable chance to come back in this game…." That isn't the question. The question is whether a "team cannot avoid defeat to a degree of reasonable certainty"? Determining whether a team has a "cannot avoid defeat" is a very different calculation than whether they have a "reasonable chance to come back." A team that only has a 5% chance to win may not have a "reasonable chance to come back" – depending how the person applying the rule defines the word "reasonable" in this instance – but it's not correct that they "cannot avoid defeat" if they have a 5% chance to win. Applying the Rule: As has been pointed out by many people, when the factors explicitly laid out in Rule 13.1 are applied in this instance, none come down in favor of awarding the victory. Here is the final game screenshot.
Does this mean the ruling was improper? Not necessarily. Again, Rule 13.1 is highly discretionary. With that said, one of the more important principles of statutory interpretation is to honor past precedent - e.g. how was this same or similar rule applied in the past? Following precedent is often crucial to reaching fair outcomes because it creates more predictability in terms of what inputs lead to what results, which allows everyone affected by the law to be put on notice of how it will be applied in practice. I fully admit that I'm writing this quickly and I have neither the time nor the inclination to search for every game that was remade in the history of competitive League of Legends. That analysis would be appropriate in this case, but particular weight should be given to decisions in the same region as well as more recent decisions. On quick search, I found two recent matches (one in NA challenger and one in EU LCS) that were remade. Let's take a quick look at how the factors play out: FLYA vs CLGA Final Screenshot:
In both of these cases, the 6 factors didn't apply either. The gold differentials were roughly the same (though the EF/CG differential was actually the smallest), but in both cases the game was much earlier, the tower differential was smaller, and no inhibs were down. Reasonable minds can differ on whether or not this precedent should be used to argue Riot should've issued a remake this time around as well. The situations can be analogized, but they are far from identical and neither provides an example of a more extreme situation that was remade. NOTE: There are plenty of other data points out there, and I'm genuinely curious about what they show – if anyone wants to take the time and drop them in the comments that would be awesome. Thoughts on the Rule and the Ruling: Did Riot get this one right? My original instinct was that they did, but based on my more thorough review I think I'm actually reversing my position. There has never been an awarded victory in the history of competitive League of Legends (to my knowledge) and while the factors aren't dispositive, it's tough for me to wrap my head around awarding a victory for the first time when none of the explicitly stated criteria militate in favor of that decision. This perspective is further reinforced by the relatively extreme wording of the actual rule. Again, the question here is not whether CG had a reasonable chance to come back – which they may not have – but instead surrounds whether they could not avoid defeat to a degree of reasonable certainty. CG was behind, but it seems to me they could have avoided defeat. This is a new patch with an unpredictable meta, and we've certainly seen comebacks of larger magnitude in the past. Tons of experts have also weighed in on pertinent points - for example, that 3 banners of command aren't as valuable at that stage in the game, that the turret differential actually plays into CG's favor because it's standing gold, etc. I'm the lawyer, not the League of Legends expert, so I don't want to get into too granular of details on the gameplay aspects, but my read is it's tough to say CG could not avoid defeat in this instance. With that said, this one was CLOSE. It's easy to play armchair quarterback on decisions like this, but at the end of the day it was a pure judgment call and reasonable minds can disagree about what was the right call. Riot was fully within the confines of the rule in reaching this conclusion and I don't see this as an abuse of power or really anything close to the wide array of vitriolic responses that have been thrown their way in the past few hours. Does the rule itself make sense? Reasonable minds can disagree on that one as well. I find myself analogizing this rule to how baseball treats rain outs, where games are replayed if the rainout occurs before a certain inning (5th), but not after. In other words, that ruleset has decided that the cost and hassle of replaying a game (admittedly much higher than for a game of LoL) aren't worth it once a game has reached a certain stage. The league is therefore willing to accept a probabilistic outcome, knowing it could favor either team in an individual instance. I don't see this rule as fundamentally more or less fair - it's just optimizing for different things. As currently written, League of Legends esports goes the complete other way. This makes some sense given the relative convenience of replaying a game in this context, though I don't think the ruleset necessarily needs to be as extreme as it is. For example, it could be changed to hinge on whether the team has a reasonable chance of winning the game. The rule could also be amended to remove some of the discretion and instead hinge on concrete rules exclusively, though I'm not sure that will ultimately lead to more just outcomes. With that said, removing discretion doesn't necessarily lead to more just outcomes - this game can change drastically based on the patch (as we know all too well right now), and relying purely on hard and fast criteria wouldn't always reflect the realities of the current meta. This is all just food for thought, and could easily be the subject of a stand alone article. I think I've rambled on enough for now, but I'll leave it here and try to chime in on the comments if I can. TL;DR: Riot's decision to award EF the victory over CG was an extremely close call. While I likely would have come down the other way, I also think a lot of the hate they've received is unreasonable. People should also spend the time to read the rules before opining on how they are applied. | At 7.22% Irelia is still the most banned champion as of now Posted: 18 Jun 2018 12:21 PM PDT According to champion.gg she has the most ban rate out of everyone else. Comparatively from last patch here win rates are: [ADC] 8.11: 52.36% 8:12: 50.50% [MID] 8:11: 51.02% 8:12: 48.87% [TOP] 8:11: 50.40% 8.12: 49.28% In retrospect was it wise not to touch Irelia in patch 8.12 given the steraks nerf, or should she still receive nerfs? Are her new win rates justifiable to keep her in her current state? [link] [comments]

| Conspiracy theory: The team that feeds the Poros the most is given secret stats. Posted: 18 Jun 2018 05:25 AM PDT I'm pretty sure that the team that feeds Poro-snax to the Poros more than their opponents is given secret stats by the power of the Poros, which leads to them winning the game. I know what you are thinking. But sir, Poros give you all their love ♥♥♥ when you feed them, they can't be giving you secret power too, you can't have both, right? No, THAT'S WHAT THEY want you to believe. I can't specify who I am talking about when I say "THEY". But they are extremely evil people. It was once said that THEY murder a marksman everytime a Ryze rework is released, so by 2036 all marksmen will be long gone. Anyway I got a bit out of topic. The point is that the poros give you insane powers (and their love♥♥♥) when you feed them. So feed them and they will lead you to Victory!
