2018 HCT Summer Championship | June 28 - July 1

"The Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) is back in sunny California! Sixteen players from around the globe will descend on the Blizzard Arena Los Angeles in Burbank, California from June 28 through July 1 for the 2018 HCT Summer Championship. Competing for their share of the $250,000 prize pool and a seat at the HCT World Championship, four groups with a player from each region will compete until only eight remain. From there, elimination and decider matches take place on Saturday, June 30, and the top eight playoff bracket runs on Sunday, July 1. The top four players from the Summer Championship advance to the HCT World Championship, and one will be crowned the Summer Champion. All matches will be played in best-of-five format with a ban."

Structure

  • Date: Thursday, June 28 - Sunday, July 1
  • Time: 08:30 PDT / 11:30 EDT / 17:30 CEST on Day 1
  • Location: Burbank, Los Angeles, California.
  • Format: Best of 5 Conquest format, 4 classes 1 ban. Players are aware of the contents of each other's decks.
  • Group Stage: Four Double Elimination groups of four players each. Groups consist of one player from each region, and are seeded based on past results. Players advance to the Quarter Finals upon reaching two wins, and are eliminated from the tournament upon losing twice.
  • Playoffs: Single Elimination bracket until the 2017 HCT Summer Championship has been crowned.

Todays Firebat stream with Purple, Zalae and Amnesiac was the best thing ive watched in a long time.

The 4 have great chemistry, more than players they are very good friends and it notices in the way they have fun.

Some gems:

Firebat: "Purple why the hell arent you hard mulligan for mountain giant to play on turn 3 in even warlock? Thats the entire point of the deck"

Firebat: "You should tap and discard a card" (Purple proceded to tap next turn and discards spellstone)

Firebat: " Taunt druid is the best deck, i mean how do you tech against ramp into oakheart"

All 3 proceed to ignore game and start talking about ducks and tree ducks

My son likes to play a little bit of Hearthstone. He is learning to read and can figure out some of the cards on his own. He also knows some of the cards just by their picture (e.g. he knows what Ysera does without reading it each time, just like we all do).

In particular he likes to do the Brawl each week, I let him beat me so he can get the free pack.

Because of the novelty of playing as White King and Black King, he asked me to test out all the emotes with him. But when I did Threaten, nothing happened on his screen. I thought we had come across a legitimate bug. Most people wouldn't notice because you would never know if your opponent was simply ignoring your emotes versus not seeing them. I was absolutely ready to post this "bug" on this subreddit.

We did several more emote tests before I finally caught him a few minutes later. He was squelching me before I did my Threatens.

So like the title says: I just got fooled by a 6-year old. I'm the reason you can't have more deck slots.

What the hell does it mean when I put 6 cards "under the table"? I'm playing in bed on my goddamn iPad. What is an Auto-attack, and why does that also mean auto-heal? How do you bm your opponent with "checkmate"?! Suffice to say, it took me a while to get my classic pack.
