As most people know the majority of reports will be aimed at AFKs and Scammers. Also a known fact is a lot of them are just BR players who want easy vbucks and legendaries. When one of these people get banned from stw for a day, they won't care, because they will just play BR for the day that they are banned. They need to make it so that the ban occurs in both br and stw or they will never change.

So i load into a vbuck mission, its low level, so while i could solo this, not the point. You load up into the mission, you do at least some work.

Anyway i notice the guy shifting back and forth in the corner of the map, so i knew they weren't helping. The other guy did some building around my box for RTD and the 4th guy built a box on top and didn't move. As we are doing the defense i get annoyed at the afks, so i ask the other guy if he wants to fail it, who decides yes after a bit. We start letting the husks in and destroying walls, traps, any interference. At this point the guy in the corner runs over and starts shooting all the husks, throwing up walls, getting mad at us. I start to chuckle as they run around frantically. We hinder them as much as possible. Mission ends with about 1000 hp on the objective. The guy starts bitching at us that is low level, so chill.

While the mission did pass i did get a laugh out of forcing the afker to do work, because they realize we aren't carrying their lazy butts. Also shout out to the other guy who was also annoyed enough to help me.

Hi there, I am a concerned parent dealing with a child with autism. My son is a gamer but has problems when playing fortnite, often having violent outbursts when losing. I am at breaking point today when after losing he went into a violent tantrum, destroying his room and smashing his phone.

He is fine playing literally any other game (online or otherwise) but there is something about fortnite that brings out these behaviour problems. He happily played his computer for a few hours today without any problems, but I stepped out of the room to do some work around the house and within 15minutes of playing fortnite he was in full meltdown.

I am here as a last resort reaching out to anyone who might be able to help with a solution for blocking fortnite. I have uninstalled it countless times but he will download it the moment he is not being watched (As i'm sure you can understand, I simply don't have the time in the day to watch him the whole time he is playing xbox). I also don't want to ban him completey from the xbox because he is fine with playing other games and I don't want to take his hobby away from him.

I've spent an hour searching google without any luck.

Any of the following solutions would be ideal:

  • Blocking Fortnite servers at IP Router level
  • Blocking access to Fortnite from the Xbox store
  • Password protecting fortnite to prevent it being launched
  • Any other suggestions that will stop Fortnite being playable

TLDR: (With respect to other redditors) I am not asking for parenting tips or behavioural management techniques - Believe me, we have tried everything at this point. I am looking for a technical solution to ban/block fortnite.

EDIT: Thanks for all the replies! I was able to block Fortnite and for any other parents with a similar problem, here's how I did it.

The option requiring a password for store purchases was already enabled but as Fortnite was free to play, this did not stop him downloading it.

After logging into my microsoft account (which was the parent account to both his xbox and Windows 10) I was able to block access to fortnite using the Microsoft family features.

Once logged in I was able to click on the link to see his recent activity and found an option to block. I was able to block access on both Windows and Xbox.

When "Auto-Ban" get in to StW please do like this Epic:

If the player is reported a lot AFK for example Instead of get a ban for days etc or perm banned, just make the player unable to play ONLINE(just private).

Lock him to only Private and or even not let him invite firends etc for a Time like 2 , 7 , 15 , 30 days and if continues than a Ban.

Because everyone will start random Report in this system even if the player is following the rule just because "he or she is only farming the whole game just get 500-1500 point and i get 3k-5k" and even some players need to be a time AFK to do House things, me for example I have to take care of my Mother becuase she is sick and some times take 2-4 minutes to help and when all the missions is 20 minutes minimun requeriment to complete remain quitting the missions just to be afk 2m will make me never play this game. And for some people just keeping afk for 2m from 18 that I have played is already "Reporting" me, and I see this alot of times even if I get 3x more stats.

This will make more fairy for everyone and probaly make AFKers and Leechers been playing the game afraid from online block.

It just feels too small on alot of characters like Blitzen Base Kyle who is supposed to heal teamates on the base but if you want to put it at the top of an "evacuate the survivors" base to get the full effects on all the walls then you can only have 1 tile per side that heals (not to mention he even has a perk for increasing MELEE damage when fighting on BASE tiles which isn't going to happen with that single tile). I'm sure you could make a case for every constructor but I'm sure most of you here know who I'm talking about.

Change Energy Pylons to Ability Pylons

Now that sprinting takes no energy, Energy pylons are pretty much useless. Before the change, I would always go for the Energy pylon in order to still possibly Bullrush or throw a grenade after sprinting over to assist an ally. Now, abilities still take up most of the extra energy you get from the pylon currently, or if they don't, they get restricted by cooldowns.

My suggestion is to change the Energy pylons to Ability Pylons. Ability Pylons could do one or a combination of these things:

  • Reduce Ability Cooldown: The most obvious and useful change, since abilities being on cooldown is one of the most frustrating parts of a frantic horde rush.
  • Reduce Energy Usage: Another useful change, this would allow for more abilities to be used in succession, most useful with Heroes with energy recharge perks
  • Speed up Energy Recharge: A less useful buff, unless it was by a significant amount. Would reduce the time waiting in between abilities. This could be added with the existing extra energy buff to keep it an "Energy" pylon.

Basically, I want a reason to grab the Energy pylon again. Right now I just do it because I have a compulsion.

With this latest patch coming up and all of the QOL improvements that have been rolled out, you guys are creating an even better game. I've been playing and supporting you all since october. Many people say you don't give STW love, but maybe they just don't understand because they haven't been through as many changes as older players. Jeez you took off the use of energy when we run, you made us a hoverboard to move around faster, you brought storage to the main menu, you made the perk recombobulator, made outlanders a bit more useful without having to pick up charges, gave us new skins (even if most were jonsey), gave us cool events such as christmas and Halloween, lowered some llama prices and compensated for the price difference, bringing a new report system that hopefully works, and so much more. All of this for free. You didn't have to pay a single penny unless of course you bought llamas but even then, compensated.

I'm not saying Epic did this all at once, but they understand and listen to our feedback. We all rush devs and many seem to never listen to the community, but Epic always seems to be listening. I played destiny for so long and always defended their devs, but they always made me look stupid whereas Epic, I have so much faith in them. So much trust because they do listen and continually show it. Yes many people say STW is being left behind for BR, but how can you say that if after every update, the game is becoming better?

Maybe the people complaining aren't old enough players to understand the change that had been made. Just tryna say, EPIC you the best. Thanks for an amazing game. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.
