| 0.16.51 has been marked as stable Posted: 18 Jun 2018 06:50 AM PDT After the other day's huge update it seems devs are happy with current .16 branch. Maybe this will be the last .16 version? [link] [comments] | ||

| I'm not very creative or smart, is Factorio for me? Posted: 18 Jun 2018 09:36 AM PDT All of the reviews are raving about how good and addicting this game is but all of the screenshots I see make it seems way to complex and hard to understand and plan. Is it easy to get a hold of because it seems really intimidating to me? Edit: I have been playing for 5 hours straight.... so there's that [link] [comments] | ||
| I took the plunge and believed you guys. Here's my first real base! Posted: 18 Jun 2018 07:51 PM PDT Son of a bitch this thing is addictive. Twelve hours played in a day and a half. I did the tutorial then started a sandbox, but after I actually realized how to (kind of) streamline production, I started a new game and I'm really proud of how it looks. I've heard stories about how the blue research vials will throw people for a loop, and holy fuck is that the truth. My only crude oil source is WAY out to the south-west and I had to spend two hours just to build enough infrastructure to bring it over and make plastic. Still haven't gotten blue vials yet, but one hurdle down. This is the most oddly enjoyable, anally perfectionist, and surprisingly good game I have ever played. Thanks /u/JonPliskin for recommending it in an AskReddit topic almost a month ago. I've found my crack! [link] [comments] | ||

| How many furnaces can a "Electric Mining Drill" supply? Posted: 18 Jun 2018 09:41 AM PDT Hello there, I'd like to know how many stone furnaces, steel furnaces and electric furnaces can a Electric Mining Drill supply. Also, is there any equation to calculate the efficiency of a mechanism? Thank you ^^ [link] [comments] | ||
| Factorio lets plays/walkthrough Posted: 18 Jun 2018 05:59 PM PDT I'm a newer player sitting at just over 25 hours into the game and struggle to get past the first 2-3 hours of each world. I get a nice belt going full of iron bars and one full of copper bars/ some labs/ etc, then feel like I'm completely lost in progression as what to do next. I feel that maybe a good let's play/walkthrough of someone else tackling the game could guide me a little. So what's your favorite factorio series? I'm not looking for something super new player friendly, as I already know the major basics. I would also prefer it to be un-modded since I plan to play original Factorio as it was meant for the first time through. [link] [comments] | ||

| Beaconed & Belted science setups (in particular Yellow science!) Posted: 18 Jun 2018 10:49 AM PDT I've been working on new Beaconed & Belted designs lately, starting with science. Today I wanted to share the Yellow science setup as it is easily the most interesting of them all as it includes Copper Cables (belting those in would be a nightmare). There are 20 Yellow science assemblers boosted by the max of 12 Beacons each with a theoretical output of exactly 0.8 blue belts. Theoretical because I haven't quite (load)tested it yet. I'd love to get some feedback on this design in particular, it'd be awesome if you can find further optimisations! One thing I can say beforehand: power can be done with substations, I didn't only because all my other science designs require medium poles. !blueprint https://pastebin.com/WyYFuzgB Edit: I've posted a V2 of this blueprint. I've also shared a Lab setup in an earlier post by /u/_Quadro. !blueprint https://pastebin.com/BDc9Q6ti The other science pack setups are all fairly trivial, based on the same 3 belt setup from the Lab setup, each scaled to produce a full blue belt. Below is the Red science setup. The most interesting is probably the midway point, where I used splitter priority to create a very compact lane switcher on the output belt, costing me virtually no space. !blueprint https://pastebin.com/9QDUFDfA [link] [comments] | ||
| My mid-game batteries setup. Suggestions and improvements welcome Posted: 18 Jun 2018 07:35 AM PDT My design for a mid-game compact batteries setup. Almost perfect radioed (extra sulfur and sulfuric acid plant because of odd number ratio and i wanted it to be symmetrical). Had to make due with some spaghetti near sulfuric acid because of area constraints. Creates a full yellow belt of batteries. Any suggestions to improve the design are most welcome.. :) Blueprint: https://pastebin.com/yiajuf1B [link] [comments] | ||
| How to get started with Nuclear Posted: 18 Jun 2018 03:37 PM PDT I have held off from trying nuclear since its launch in Vanilla, but it seems my first foray into megbase building is going to soon require me to jump in now to meet my growing power demands (damn you beacons!!!) The fun part here is that I'm also a circuit noob and am trying to keep it mostly? Low tech if I can. Anyone got suggestions for me? I've got it all researched, I just don't know the best way to get it running. [link] [comments] | ||

| Is there a resource for figuring how you should consume your oil Posted: 18 Jun 2018 04:20 PM PDT Been trying to for there is no spoon, and while I have the math down for the 5/6 red and green science, I have noticed that I am a fraud when it comes to managing oil products, and didn't have my chemical plants set up right, so my oils get backed up. My main tool kirkmcdonald.github.io is... a bit aggressive on cracking. [link] [comments] | ||
