Posted: 26 Jun 2018 03:29 AM PDT Yesterday i played with a friend of mine. I played on my desktop with 100 fps and he played on his laptop with 20-30 fps (sometimes even lower). We noticed he was walking alot slower then me. First we thought it was because i was longer alive then him but later we found out it was because of his low fps. When he had 20 fps he was walking really slow. When he looked straight up or down while walking wich boosted his fps he was walking the same speed as me. Does this mean people with high fps have an advantage(in speed) over people with lower fps. [link] [comments] | ||
I wish 0.63 wasn't on EXP yet.. Posted: 25 Jun 2018 06:29 PM PDT I looked forward to this A LOT and I'm extremely happy with 0.63, but we've been allowed to play it with out enough content. I think about playing it all day but then I log on and have nothing to do (and I feel bad just killing bambis/new players, don't want to put them off!). There is not enough to do, current optimal meta is just get an AK with 3 mags, combat knife, ballistic vest and only pants and jacket and eat all food you find. And once at that point (which doesn't take long at all) you have nothing to do, I'm at the point where I am happy to die because there is nothing left to accomplish. Zero reason to go to Tisy (only special loot is hi cap vest which is pointless because no reason to fill it up/carry the extra weight) No point to even loot people because they will never have anything you need at the point (apart from food which you just eat all of it right away) Obviously this will change with more guns, items, cars and base building but the issue is if they don't start adding content soon this new hype/players will leave again and maybe not come back. I understand stability is key right now and needs to be priority and I kinda wish they didn't have EXP until there was more to do and 100 player servers. [link] [comments] | ||

I decided to play dayz with my surround sound on, and well.... I have a female character... when she was running she has the heavy breathing sound... and my new neighbors thought I was watching a porno. They said: "Well, just letting you know, there are kids around here! It's not appropriate to watch adult videos with your windows open. Close your window if you are going to!!!". My KOSer friend has just realized why this game is so good Posted: 26 Jun 2018 08:01 AM PDT .63 exp is kinda lacking content, let's be honest, but me and my friend that just bought the game (because they said the price will go up in the future) went through something that changed him. We were at the military base south of NW airfield, and it was filled with zombies and I heard someone accidentally activating their microphone and I could hear their background noise. I let my friend know, and keep in mind that he had KOS'd everyone he found. He's really enjoying the game so far. He found the guy behind a window, and sprayed him, but the window didn't break (in one of those sleeping quarters buildings that have a bathroom, a corridor and multiple doors). The guy did the same thing and yet again the window didn't break. The guy communicated with us and said he just wanted to leave, and was not looking for trouble. He was inside these quarters and we were sitting outside. I took care of some zombies, so did my friend, and my friendkept his weapon raised aiming at the door. He told me he was gonna shoot the guy as soon as he came out. The guy said "I'm coming out without my gun". He did, and raised his hand with F1. I was sure he was dead, but my friend didn't shoot him. I didn't either and I try my best not to kill people, but my friend was a KOS'er up until that point. He didn't have the heart to murder the dude after he raised his hand. I just followed the guy around a bit telling him not to take his weapon to his hands to make sure he didn't leave the base and came back just to kill us. He ran away and when I couldn't see him in the horizon anymore I went back to the base. My friend asked me why I didn't kill him since the guy was looted, but he didn't consider he didn't shoot the guy either, and he could have murdered him super easily. Truth is he didn't have the heart either after the guy put so much trust on us that we would not kill him, as to even raise his hand to us. We didn't have much food and skinning a player would surely be great for us. Thank you, unbreakable window, for showing my friend that DayZ is not all about the loot and it's player interactions like these that stick with you on the long run. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 02:39 AM PDT This would be my list, there will always be people opposed to some ideas so I'd rather see new additions than fruitless discussions of single points, cheers. eatable plants/berries shelters (might be in already) remove hip shooting cross hair animal traps proper fishing/fishing animations repair weapon parts craft improvised weapon cleaning kits remove some clean water sources / add water purification methods (cooking, lifestraw, tablets) improvised barricading of houses remove/semi transparent grass in front of player when lying down add better smoke grenade (bigger smoke) / HE grenades / flash grenades again add search container option (simple one button search like state of decay) that makes searching in houses more risky and take longer for better loot. (searching cabinets aso.) adjust bullet speed (currently people can "outrun" bullets at less than 100 meters sideways from a rifle which is absolutely ridiculous) add mildot scopes in military bases that work correctly zoom for range-finder add a possibility to build an improvised camouflage net that you need to set up like a shelter and that you can take with you if you wish. change something about the visibility of player on long distances when they hide in high grass, behind trees. long range object resolution is so low that you can identify players too easy birds. you hear birds all around but you never see some, that is really breaking the immersion if you are aware of it. cooking food should sustain you longer to reward the risk/work if you enter buildings/woods the light should change, the surrounding should get darker and some woods in relevant areas are still not looking realistic enough. Posted: 26 Jun 2018 05:10 AM PDT I use Nvidia Geforce Now to play Dayz. I wasn't able to play on the stress tests as Geforce Now wouldn't allow me to download the stress test files. Since .63 has been in EXP, I've been have to play it in .63 - having to install it every time onto Steam. Over the past couple of days, I've not been able to play .63 anymore because Geforce Now isn't allowing Steam to download the .63 EXP files. Does anyone know what I can do to play .63 again? Then while moving positions my friend hears a silent shot, dies then I myself hear it and end up dead as well. Posted: 26 Jun 2018 06:41 AM PDT So I was hanging out at the Berezino police station with my friend, when a dude comes in and blasts my friend (RIP), but doesn't notice me. I wait a few seconds and hear him start bandaging up, so I run in, put a burst into his chest... And nothing? I figure out maybe he can't be shot in the animation or something (Far fetched but it's all I could think of), so I stop shooting, wait for the dude to stand up and take a few steps before shooting again, still nothing. Panic, I run around the corner, swap from an AK to the scorpion for a last attempt only for my shots to go through him with no effect before he kills me. I would've put it as a one time thing maybe but it's actually happened to me before with an MP5, and that time my target was eating some sweet peaches. On the first time, I was shooting in 3rd person, while on the 2nd time I was using ironsights. [link] [comments] | ||
