What if I managed to kill Benny at the casino? I didn't it's possible considering you have stop having weapons in that place but heard someone say they managed to anyways. | Fallout 4 gets a lot of flack, but can we appreciate the excellent intro sequence? Posted: 17 May 2018 10:24 PM PDT Say what you will about roleplaying and depth, but from the standard Fallout "war never changes" film to the explosion over Boston and the introduction to Vault 111 to the twisty cryofreeze sequence to the escape from the vault all did a wonderful job of drawing the player into the world and establishing its mythos and mechanics. It can be a slog after multiple playthroughs, but the level of detail and universe building in the game's first fifteen minutes get me every time. The voiced protagonist may hurt the game later on, but the opening sequence would be nowhere near as impactful as it is without Brian T. Delaney's and Courtney Taylor's phenomenally emotional acting to set and deliver some of the best beats in the game. All in all, an excellent introduction into an excellent (if not flawed) experience. I hope the game's detractors don't influence Bethesda into making less cinematic and powerful sequences in the future. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 18 May 2018 09:15 AM PDT There hasn't been much insanity about a new Fallout game with no basis in reality, but there should be. So with that idea in mind, what factions would you want to see, and where should they be? Go ahead and make your own factions such as small side faction like The Kings to something important like the EBoS. You don't need to read the rest of this, just my overthought out main factions of a game I have no power over. My personal favourite ideas would have FO5 be in the Toronto area in 2310ish with 3 major factions, The Kingdom of Toronto, The Commonwealth of America, and The Steel Order: Kingdom of Ronto: A Kingdom with Toronto as capital with holdings from Lake Huron to Lake Ontario and to Algonquin Provincial Park. It is ruled by a pre-war ghoul King with the idea of being the continuation of the Canadian Royal Family (the British Royal family when they fled to Canada for safety). The ghoul King believes he solved the problem of monarchies by being a near immortal being. He also has Ghoul Lords (with varying degrees of loyalty) he bestows fiefdoms to where a new form of feudalism is alive and well. Ghouls are considered superior to normal humans and pre-war ghouls near divine. It's military consisting of levies from the Ghoul Lords is one of the most powerful in the region but is threatened by both The Order and The Commonwealth The Kingdom faces a severe Nuclear Winter potentially starving its population and losing its military to desertion and insurrection, and to solve the problem it was forced upon the King to prepare an invasion of Up-State New York and Detroit to secure food and its flank. Commonwealth of America: Founded in 2300, it claims to be the descendant of democracy in america. First incarnation was by the City-State Coalition formed around New Haven, New York City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Baltimore, and many Pennsylvanian Towns being its largest at 2294. When the BoS army left to the Commonwealth the Coalition unleashed an insurgency with D.C locals and forced the BoS authority out of the Capital Wasteland to Chicago. Then the Coalition invited the Commonwealth and then formed the Commonwealth of America, with much still needed to be done. A temporary Governor-General has been appointed by the parliament to organise the scattered military entities within the Commonwealth to ready it for the future President. The Governor General is an ardent believer in the new democracy but is well aware if the Commonwealth can't survive to it's first Presidential election, it will implode. The GG has promised to protect the farmlands of Up-State New York, City of Flow (Buffalo), and the tribals of the Erie Stretch, unaware of the future threat that Ronto and The Order would become. Steel Order: A reformed MWBoS located around Chicago with a holding in Detroit. After the Warrior defeated the calculator, the MWBoS solidified into a Knightly Order similar to the Teutonic Knights with some local representation. The Order of Steel solidified the much of the Codex as law and has continued to try and 'preserve' technology and became quite zealot. It continued its expansion and its conscription of locals into The Order and eventually marched into Detroit to seize its incredible manufacturing capability and technological caches. When the EBoS fled from the Commonwealth they were welcomed into the Order placing Maxson as its Grand Elder with a council of Grand Masters 'guiding' him. The Grand Masters sees both Ronto and the Commonwealth with hatred. Both exclude the BoS from their territory, both use technology The Order deems to be The Orders Right, and both pose a threat to the Orders hold on Detroit and sees an opportunity to secure itself from Ronto and take revenge against the Commonwealth. Im on the mission where you have to get the relay dish from the Museum of Technology in DC. I began making my way through the tunnels then saw that I had already discovered the MOT and had already been there... My question is how? None of the metro post had been discovered yet and looking through my completed missions I dont see any where I was required to go through that area. Its really bugging me trying to figure how I discovered this area without seeming to have ever taken a proper path there lol. Anyone know how this happened? [link] [comments]  |
| [FO4] Audio stuck in VATS' slowed-down mode? Posted: 18 May 2018 10:29 AM PDT I was playing Fallout 4 for the first time in a while, and I was being pestered by two sting wings. I entered VATS to kill them, and didn't notice anything strange after that until I tried talking to a settler for a Minuteman quest. Her voice sounded so deep and slowed-down that I couldn't understand her, and I actually thought my PC was possessed for a hot second! It's a good thing I use subtitles, otherwise I would have been completely lost. Also, it's not just voices that are affected, it's all sounds. I managed to get my weapon noises working properly by just reloading the game from the main menu, but I haven't fixed the voices or other sound effects yet. I'll try reloading the game from the desktop this time, and I'll report back here if it proves successful. [link] [comments]  |

| Fallout 4 performance issues on Xbox One X Posted: 18 May 2018 03:51 PM PDT I'm playing vanilla fallout on my one x and have been running into serious performance issues. Far harbor, downtown Boston, and sometimes just randomly my FPS will drop into the 20's. I feel this is most likely due to Bethesda's poor Xbox one enhancement patch that they added to F4 and not so much the consoles fault. Either way it's simply ridiculous. I was hoping that someone might have some tips for how I might be able to increase performance.
