The New Vegas ending slides had some beautiful quotes Posted: 11 May 2018 08:01 AM PDT I have been replaying New Vegas for the Nth time, and I forgot how poignant, bittersweet and downright poetic some of those lines were. Relaxing in your chair after you finished one of those "chapters" and just appreciate how your actions affected the future of the characters, with that soothing music and listening to those quotes is always a delight. Also some of those ending quotes really made me reflect, on my life and how I act with my mistakes. About letting go. So, here are some of my favorites: "You've heard of the Sierra Madre Casino. We all have, the legend, the curses. Some foolishness about it lying in the middle of a City of Dead. A city of ghosts. Beneath a blood-red cloud... ...a bright, shining monument, reaching out, luring treasure hunters to their doom. An illusion. A promise that you can change your fortunes. Begin again. Finding it, though, that's not the hard part. It's letting go." - Dead Money "The threat of the White Legs ended, Joshua Graham helped the Sorrows and Dead Horses tend to their fallen comrades and secure Zion. The Courier's words had stayed Joshua's wrath in his darkest hour, and in sparing Salt-Upon-Wounds, he was changed. While he continued to advocate militant opposition to the enemies of New Canaan, he sometimes showed quarter to those who crossed his family. Eventually this new spirit would diminish the myth of the Burned Man in distant lands - a small price for the peace it brought to Joshua Graham." - Honest Hearts "There is an expression in the Wasteland: "Old World Blues." It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is. They stare into the what-was, eyes like pilot lights, guttering and spent, as the realities of their world continue on around them. Science is a long, steady progression into the future. What may seem a sudden event often isn't felt for years, even centuries, to come. In the times following the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, however, Old World Blues took on a new meaning. Where once it was viewed as a form of sadness, nostalgia, it became an expression describing the potential for the future. It can be easy to see Science as evil, technology unchecked as the source of all ills, all misfortunes. With the Courier at the helm, Science became a beacon for the future. There was Old World Blues, and New World Hope. And hope ruled the day at Big MT." - Old World Blues "It's said war - war never changes. Men do, through the roads they walk. And this road - has reached its end." - Lonesome Road [link] [comments] |
How would you feel about Fallout 1 and 2 getting remastered in Fallout 3 and onward's style? Posted: 11 May 2018 05:28 AM PDT Imagine the first two games with modern, updated graphics, using the FPS style of 3, New Vegas, and 4. Would you be for or against it? I know one thing for sure - The Master would be absolutely terrifying! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 May 2018 09:38 AM PDT Last night, i got MAAAAD in fallout new vegas, I lost all my chips at the card tables even though i had max luck, and i made a save to kill everyone i could before i died... I didn't die... I leveled up 5 times from killing everyone in freeside and got the cannibal perk and bloody mess... well... i killed, ate, and demolished everyone else that crossed my path... and then i had an idea... "What if i did this to everyone i see? kill them, eat them, and use the bloody mess perk to destroy their body to make it look like they were actually eaten?" So i did, and i created Devoro, The Devourer, Boneknaw, The California Cannibal... The Wendigo... The goal of this challenge is to create a character who can get the cannibal and ghastly scavenging perk right away, That way, you can kill all of goodsprings and feast, starting the challenge to kill and eat everyone you see, no exceptions, killing all the companions along the way... no caps, no NCR dollars, no Legion Coins, just an unending hunger for human flesh... I made it rather far last night, all the way to Hoover Dam, and i've successfully eating most of the soldiers and engineers there. Tools: Really good melee weapons are absolutely required, however, guns are allowed, but only in the form of pistols, you can use the most powerful pistol you can find, but rifles and heavy guns are out. This can go for 3 to 4, and i don't know if the original FO games can handle you killing literally everyone, But you might have a better experience in NV, since you can literally kill everyone but kids, but you can get the mod to let you kill kids to keep your Mojave clearing dreams alive. How would Fallout NV change if the NCR still had all their gold? Posted: 11 May 2018 08:46 AM PDT We know that before the events of Fallout New Vegas the NCR suffered a massive blow to their economy when the BoS, through unknown means, destroyed the entirety of their gold reserves. Of course this devalued the NCR dollar massively and in order to save it the dollar now had to be backed by fresh water resources and compete with the bottlecap which is also backed by fresh water. This is part of the reason the NCR is seen desperately pushing East, stretching their forces thin, and making mistakes. They want the water and energy of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead to strengthen their currency and economy thus making the NCR dollar outweigh the cap again and be more desirable. Link to information on NCR currency and gold. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/NCR_dollars So, what if before any of that happens the NCR are able to save their gold reserves and beat the BoS into the same defeated and weakened state as they're seen in game? Considering their goldbacked currency pretty much guaranteed the NCR all the wealth and resources they want at home how would NCR's first contact and interaction, if any, with the Mojave and New Vegas go? Or with the Legion, as we know the Legion had spies in the NCR even before they first entered the Mojave. We'll assume other things will stay the same, House is still looking for his platinum chip and wants it delivered to him for his army and the Legion enters the Mojave and takes interest in seizing the Dam and New Vegas. And of course, the NCR military is as well funded, well led (assuming Kimball wasn't elected), and as strong as it's ever been in this scenario. [link] [comments] |
How would you feel about a game set in postwar Alaska? Posted: 11 May 2018 02:32 PM PDT We could see how Anchorage faired after the war. Perhaps a dlc across the sea to China, and we could have a perspective about their view of the war. Ideas? [link] [comments] |
Which DLC should I buy for New Vegas? Posted: 11 May 2018 02:01 PM PDT |
So a passing thought while I was driving. Posted: 11 May 2018 07:14 AM PDT Wouldn't Nashville be a great place for a new fallout game? You get some of the Country/West flavors that people liked in FNV but it's still east enough to pull on a lot of the established world building from FO 3 and 4. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 May 2018 02:53 PM PDT As title. I know very little of the mods made over the years for these games, so I always ended up choosing a bad mod combination and breaking everything, getting annoyed, and never play the game beyond vanilla. It also looks like not all of the DLC-sized mods are released on Nexusmods, and those are what I have a special interest in, as I'd love a fresh story rich in lore and fun adventures. For this last category, I'd appreciate also names of mods for Fallout 4, so I'll be prepared when I am finally able to enjoy it on a capable PC, but mostly now I'm interested in 3 and NV mods. Fallout 4 - Alternative opening idea Posted: 11 May 2018 11:29 AM PDT I've probably thought about this too much, but what if at the start of Fallout 4, it wasn't baby Shaun that was taken but you the main character were by the institute so basically had to fight your way to go back to your family. Only to discover they're missing from the vault so then you have to go in search of them just to discover your partner was taken by raiders who you can save, so you get your partner as a companion and the two of you go in search of your child? I really wish the wife/husband could have been a traveling companion :( [link] [comments] |

What do we know about post-War Canada? Posted: 11 May 2018 11:40 AM PDT I know that it was annexed by America near the end, but what's the current state if we know? Is it better or worse than what we've seen of New California, the Midwest, the Capital Wasteland, and the Commonwealth? Asking for writing/roleplaying purposes. [link] [comments] |
Can someone help me find one of these caravans? Posted: 11 May 2018 04:04 PM PDT Nuka-World Caravan Fast Travel. I want to find a caravan from the mod to test out the mod. Cheat mods can't even help me.[link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 May 2018 03:47 PM PDT so basically this is about you running around killing things that only attack you or "civilians" I'll call them. so you only kill raiders, super mutants, etc. that kill friendly people. you can only be armed with an any assault rifle, combat armor, army helmet anything military-like. Im replaging newvegas and im,having some NCR trouble Posted: 11 May 2018 11:33 AM PDT So I'm having two issues right now I was really high up with the NCR, even got the radio support aid then doing missions for yesman I had to flood the electricity and those four poor NCR soldiers attached and died then the same goes for the ones out side so I went from accepted to 'Soft hearted devil' and I've done all the quests I could find at camp Golf, McCarran and Forlorn, Sharecropper, and Aerotech plus small jobs with people through the wastes and I just got to Smiling Trouble maker. Plus on top of all that I already did the president Kimball mission with yesman and now I have to do it for the NCR but it's bugged so I'm completely stuck and trying to get my NCR Rep up, any tips? Or am I stuck? And before you say "restart from before you killed the soldiers" I killed them at like hour 15 of my play through and I'm currently at 50+ hours so that's not going to happen [link] [comments] |
Need some help with FNV on PS3 Posted: 11 May 2018 03:18 PM PDT I just started up FNV for the first time since it launched and holy glitches Batman. I've turned off all auto saves and cleaned out the PS3 but it still gets laggy and freezes when trying to perform actions. I have about 25 hours in as well and the KB size is around 4700. So after uninstalling and reinstalling the game, all of NPC's were clipping and had Pinkish-Purplish bodies. I could move freely and go about things but graphics were a mess. Any idea what could be going on? I went into safety mode and cleaned up corrupted data before uninstalling in an attempt to fix the lag. But should I do it again in-case saved data is corrupt? Any help is appreciated. I'm a second away from building a PC rig if this continues. [link] [comments] |

What happened to the Service Rifle Mod? Posted: 11 May 2018 10:40 AM PDT I no longer have the service rifle mod and I can't find it. I am playing on Xbox 1 and am lowkey sad because the Service Rifle mod was really cool. [link] [comments] |
New Vegas reference in Pillars of Eternity II. Posted: 10 May 2018 05:27 PM PDT This is a minor thing, but I thought I'd share. At the Wild Mare in PoE2, there's a golem prostitute named Mefisto. If you talk to him he says "Assume the position," though it seems like you can only do it once (otherwise I'd have taken a screenshot). Since they're both developed by Obsidian, it's not a huge surprise, but it got a smile out of me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 May 2018 01:35 PM PDT For some reason when I get to the beryllium agitator it's giving me two quest objectives, 'take the beryllium agitator' and 'retrieve the beryllium agitator', however, when removing the agitator it only checks off the 'take' one. I've tried pushing the button again and again to see if it will turn the sphere thing over again to reveal a second agitator but nothing happens. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
