Theorycrafting Jesus based on Easter respawn time Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:16 PM PDT Every Easter, there's a huge debate in the Dota community about whether Jesus bought back, had Aegis - or maybe he was just Wraith King. But these theories all overlook one thing - why did it take three days for him to resurrect? All of those options would do it in seconds. This leads us to a simpler, but much more frightening conclusion: Jesus didn't buy back at all. He simply respawned. Why frightening? Let's take a look at the attributes of a Jesus with a respawn timer of 3 days (259,200 seconds). Respawn times fluctuate slightly, but on average increase by 4 seconds per level. This means Jesus would have been level 64,800 when he died. For simplicity's sake, we'll use Omniknight as a starting point, since they share a lot of similarities. Jesus had a heal, a dispel, guardian angel - and, uh ... a slow if you got too close to him. You learn something new every day. Omniknight is also a strength hero, which fits with Biblical accounts of Jesus as an avid weightlifter. So, with a starting strength of 22 and STR growth of 3.1, that gives level 64,800 Jesus a total of 212,055 strength, 4.2 million HP and 2.13x10750 (I think, too large for calculator) health regen/sec. He would also have 212,086 attack damage and 100% status resistance. 15 starting AGI plus 1.75/level gives us 113415 agility and 18,902.5 armor for an effective 99.9+% damage reduction (1,135.15 x EHP). His 1.8 INT growth would result in 123,135 at level 64,800 for a mana pool of 1.47 million with 7.047x101050 regen. Since Jesus died before patch 7.11, under the old formula buyback would have cost him 6.298 billion gold. So let's use that for his minimum net worth. (Under the new system, he could buy back for a mere 484.5 million of that.) He would give 163.76 million comeback gold under the old system but 12.6 million under the new one (I think). How would you kill a level 64,800 Jesus? The 2.14x10750 health regen means you'd have to one-shot him for 4.2 million HP (times the 1,135.15 EHP for his armor). So 4.77 billion damage at once. Blade Mail wouldn't work because Jesus only deals 212,000 damage at a time. The only hero capable of one-shotting Jesus would be Legion Commander with 4.77 billion duel damage. Or more likely, LC with a mere 4.2 million duel damage if Jesus was under the effect of Heartpiercer and couldn't purge it off. So most probably, someone baited out his dispel, Pangolier used Heartpiercer, and then LC dueled him. (edit: or LC duel followed by Heartpiercer) In summary, we come to the conclusion that Jesus was killed by Legion Commander. [link] [comments] |
When is a good time to pick Bounty Hunter? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:41 AM PDT Everyone knows his utility is supreme and his teamfighting is garbage, but what kind of opposing lineup or strategy makes bounty hunter a good choice? I've been messing around with him and focusing on sniping couriers, securing mid, and damaging enemy economy via detection, but I'm unable to really comprehend the right time to pick the hero. Any insight is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Post your Aghanim's Scepter Ideas #2 - Broodmother Posted: 03 Apr 2018 01:15 PM PDT Hello again! Previous thread had some really cool ideas. Some posts were shadowbanned or something though including a few replies of my own, I dunno what that's all about, but we'll continue on. Let's talk about Broodmother. My Idea: Grants Broodmother a new ability, Cocoon. Broodmother leaps onto an enemy target in the area of the same Web she occupies, dealing damage and beginning to ravel them in a cocoon. This raveling process debuffs the target, slows the target by 80% and disarms them for 2 seconds. If the cocoon is finished, the target is additionally stunned for 2 seconds. Cocoon can be prevented by moving away (750 distance) from Broodmother (think Spirit Siphon tether). Spiderlings deal bonus damage to targets under the effects of Cocoon. (Blocked by Linkens. Ravel debuff cannot be dispelled. You can leap to BKB targets but the Ravel debuff does not apply) Purpose: I was thinking of ways to try and buff spider builds but I didn't come up with any that I really liked. So instead I decided to make Broodmother the scariest jumping spider in existence and offering her a very potent gap close and single-target cc. Have fun! Unranked With High Player Score? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:49 PM PDT Hello, TrueDOTA Recently I made a new account to recalibate my MMR to see if I had improved. I was 1.8K on my main account and I managed to calibrate 2.7K and I've been at around that MMR for the last two months. Recently I started a new job and I haven't been able to focus in the evenings as much as I'd like to on Ranked matchmaking, so I've been playing one or two Unranked games to relax and stay up to date. The problem is I (assume, player report is usually 0-3 reports and 15+ Commends) seem to be getting completely new players in my games. Is this anything to do with my player score since I heard Valve set it up that new players get paired with nice people. I have no issue with helping people learn the game but I don't want to literally hold their hands during games. I'd happily queue Ranked but I don't think it's fair on others if I'm not 100% focuses on winning due to tiredness or stress. So basically my question is, has anyone else came across this or is it just my imagination? I could probably go back and play Ranked on my old account but without sounding like a idiot, I kind of stomp most them games with little effort. Which again kind of makes me feel bad for smurfing I guess. Even though it's only a thousand MMR difference I still feel like I'm auto piloting through games in that bracket. Any input would be appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments] |
How do you counter broodmother split push? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 02:45 PM PDT I know a lot of pros actually think brood is almost broken. In this video Jenkins explains how to play brood offlane. I just played a game where an enemy brood was doing exactly this. How can I counter it? It costs so much time to deal with her. Let alone her clearing out your jungle. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 01:43 AM PDT Is this still true? There were a lot of changes and I dont feel that QoP still has the upper hand like in the past. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Apr 2018 09:38 PM PDT Hi guys I played a game on FV last night and won, but my impact was limited, I made a few decent plays, but overall I felt like I missed some key interactions. On my team we had:
So, I looked at our draft and saw OD and ET and was like: fuckyes, this is a void game, I can use chrono as a pretty epic setup to a massive motherfucking earthsplit, and also OD's ult for some retard level wombo combo, and... if my whole team is present, Pudge can hook whoever lives into some mean meepo burst. Well, shit that sounds good, but nothing even close to that level of coordination occured. The ET and meepo wanted to farm, ET-god knows why... and meepo was shit, and was level 18 at the same time I was, and I think had actually not even taken the Safelane T1, I ended up wanting to report him in the end I think. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3812682334 There's the game. What I'm asking is this... I wanted to have a strong mid game impact, and I understand the value of proc damage, so FV really synergizes well with attack speed. Hence, my item progression went: stout/ring of protection/tango/salve to start into Basilius -> aquila Boots Morbid mask Then I died twice to troll who didn't even out play me, I just fed him, it was bad. But then I figured I needed to figure out a plan, so the obvious thing was to first finish treads. Ok, did that, then I had treads/aquila/morbid mask I'm not a fan of mask of madness so instead of that, I built a maelstrom. Adding another 25 attackspeed and some damage felt OK, but because I didn't really farm the jungle that much or clear many camps (comparatively), it felt like a bit of a waste - in retrospect, I felt like I could ahve skipped the maestrom and went straight for the MKB (for the troll+PA). I bought an MKB next, and then I didn't really know what to buy but I'd died a couple times to techies bombs so I considered a BKB, but I ended up thinking that FV had natural defences against techies as long as you survive the bomb blast so I opted for a satanic instead which was also about the same price, and I felt like was a stronger pick anyway since techies impact was waning and more sustained fighting was starting to occur. My problem was the period of time just after the laning stage. I had treads/aquila/morbid mask. Should I have just upgraded the mask to mask of madness and went for the chrono/mask combo to generate solo kills? My farm was pretty slow and I felt like my chrono usage was sub par - BUT I had it up whenever I needed it to secure a kill or save my OD who was snowballing, so in that regard, as a pos 3 I felt decent about it. Can you guys give me some FV tips regarding transitioning from lane to mid game? Thanks a lot! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 01:54 PM PDT I've been silently waiting in a corner for the disco pony to become a good pick (as a core) since he got nerfed into the ground, I still played him every now and then but now that he's back I'm super happy. Many people may not now how to play or build leshrac so if you got any questions hit me up. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 04:04 AM PDT I know for pro or divines that rat warden isn't good, but i'm just 1k MMR so I think it can work. And its just fun. It seems like BoTs + maelstrom is a good start, im not sure what other items are good. I tried necrobook and aghs but it was very ineffective https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3813617985 I had a successful game building escape items: linkins and silver edge, but then it sacrifices pushing power. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3813656381 Is hurricane pike useful? I'm also not sure about deso now that is has been nerfed. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 12:21 AM PDT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3lHsPQNbM I have nearly 1200 games with Riki. I am in the 3k mmr range and play pretty regularly with ancient and legend players. I give a few tips on how I play him and with his new ultimate update, I wanted to give my perspective on how it should be done.
