Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:48 AM PDT Hey folks, just curious about this. I have really taken to laddering lately, trying to breach 5k or at least get that sweet e-peen Divine rank, and as a support main it can be difficult sometimes. At 4.6k now. Anyways, I am competent (I think) with most/many supports, but none of them seem to have that "It" factor that DW possesses. In some games I have the KDA of a mid or carry while sitting on nothing but Arcane and sometimes blink. And her CC is out of this world bananas if you can catch a few guys in a fear, all you have to do is Cursed Crown them and they're out for like 8 seconds. And that's not even considering landing a root on someone afterwards. Anecdotal of course but I have solo killed enemy mids and carries late game no problem with her insane nuke. After you've won lane with her fat nuke and root, you can just go pelt the enemy mid a few times for 200 or so damage from your high ground. Granted, her cooldowns are all fairly long and her mana costs are pretty high, she is very easy to kill and Shadow Realm has some drawbacks, but she's got a super high pickrate and a respectable ~%53 winrate at 5k, seemingly versatile being seen in off, mid, and support. I know Blademail and BKB counters her, but with her excellent range for everything besides Bedlam it's really not hard to just wait it off. Am I wrong? Does she just suit my playstyle, or is she too new for people to really know how to play against her? Or is she OP? I know this post seems a little boastful, and I am sorry for that, I simply found my impact with this hero to be much higher than other supports that I have more experience with, and was curious of the source of that. My way of playing Jakiro Support Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:05 AM PDT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKXxZzt1Rgo&feature=youtu.be The link above is a replay commentary. Everything is in there, I talk about my decision making and what mattered to the game. I am sitting at Divine 3, so if you're anywhere below wanting to climb by support, the video may help you! Skill Build 1-0-1 at level 2 seems most efficient. That would be one point in Dual Breath and another one in Liquid Fire. Your job is to protect your carry by offensively trading HP with the enemy offlaner. If you bring enough regen to the lane, you shouldn't lose to any solo offlaner whilst trading from level 1 - level 2. Jakiro powerspikes at level 3, by having 2 points in Liquid Fire. You have a great pushing power. You are still competent in zoning out the enemy offlaner. This is why Jakiro is also viable in going aggressive duo or trialne, but that's too high level strat, so I will mention it in another thread. Normally, you should start as a support to babysit your safe lane carry. If you worry about the enemy TPing out, it is okay get a value point in Ice Path early. By level 7, your skill build should be something like this: 2-1-3-0. Remember to be flexible in your skill build. You have Void in your team? Get Macropyre at level 6. It synerzies with Chronosphere. Game Play Push tier 1 tower by shoving in double wave with Catapult at minute 5. This can be achieved by single-pulling 4:30 wave or 5:00's. If your carry has Aquilla, you will end up dealing a lot of tower damage, more than enough to take down the tower. You'll need at least 2 points in Liquid Fire. Therefore, as a Jakiro, it is crucial for you to find level 3 before minute mark 5:00. Once you've taken down the tower, TP to your offlane or mid and start pressuring the tower with Liquid Fire. By taking tier 1 towers early, you will gain map control and limit the enemy's safe place to farm. It is a huge advantage. Jakiro may transition into a semi-carry and counter the enemy with BKB, once he hits level 25 ( Macropyre Pure and Pierces Immunity). However, your enemies are not going to stand still dumb on the Macropyre. Unless you can collaborate with RP, Chronosphere, Blackhole, I don't think Jakiro can shine as a semi-carry role in late game. The build is really fun, and will work, but it's very situational. Jakiro is best played in position 4 or 5. Item Build Tranquil+Eul is most recommended. Jakiro will get mobility and he can set up perfect stun for his Ice Path with Eul Scpt. You can then work on your way up to Blink dagger, Force Staff, Glimmer Cape, Lotus Orb, etc depending on the lane up you're facing against. Arcane+Mek can be done if you are confident your team can push all the way to tier 2 tower by minute 20. Talent Tree 8% Spell Amp talent at level 10, combined with and +40 Dual Breath damage at level 15, makes Jakiro very strong magic nuker. If you want to powerspike at level 15 and put an end to the game, this should be your build. Jakiro's talent tree is pretty strong in either way at every level. You can be creative in taking any talents. I've tried every crazy build and I've seen it all in Jakiro. Anything can work. The confidence that your build is going to work will win you the game. Ask me anything. Good luck! [link] [comments] |
How and when do you play roaming Clockwerk Posted: 04 Apr 2018 11:23 AM PDT Hi guys ! I enjoy playing Clokwerk. But all of my experience with him was either mid (couple of years ago) or offlane. Since the currents patches, I saw pro player and high mmr player use him as a pos 4 roamer. How do you play him exactly ? What are the build ? And what is the best context to pick him in this position ? Thanks ! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 05:41 AM PDT I have been seeing these Underlords sometimes prioritizing Meks before going into a Pipe. Usually when I play the tanky utility initiators or see other ppl playing them Pipe always feel value. When can you make the call over it to go for Mek? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 05:59 AM PDT I've been practicing her in casuals and in games where I don't need orchid silence I've gotten aghs for good results. The main issue is a lack of mana regen but qop can base really quickly with blink. However I haven't seen aghs build for a long time in high level matches. [link] [comments] |
Why isn't tusk played in every meta? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:42 PM PDT Tusk has been played a lot at DAC and it has me wondering... Why isn't he played in every meta? I'm biased because I have also been spamming him in ranked games with success, but he seems like he offers so much, and requires so little farm. He has 2 ways to catch enemies with shards and snowball, and the combo is devastating in the laning stage if you have a ranged hero behind you, or bring a melee hero forward. You can shutdown an offlane by rolling on their support every time they get out of position, and the same goes for mid. And that's just the surface. Tusk is strong against heroes like jugg, lifestealer or any bkb carrier because shards can catch them in situations where they would otherwise just run away, and his ult can stop anyone who goes magic immune + tp which is a rare ability. Ice shards and sigil gives 2 ways to scout, which is great for a number of reasons. Sigil can help take Rosh early on lineups that struggle to tank the damage. And tusk has a save which can be sketchy depending on the available targets, but is strong against high damage spells or spells that would kill. Even in late game fights, the damage of his combo and the disruption he causes without needing items seems better than other pos 4s to me. I can't really imagine a meta where he isn't a great 4. Am I missing something? [link] [comments] |
What to buy after boots + blink for a position 4 Slardar? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 09:51 PM PDT As the title says. Is it a matter of looking at the enemy lineup and determining what item to counter their heroes with? (eg solar crest, pipe, force staff, euls?) I have a hard time knowing if i should get a bkb/spirit vessel/vlads or items that will beef me up or get more utility based items such as glimmer/solar crest/lotus which help my team more. Ofcourse it is completly situational to each game and the draft, but how do i prioritize or know what to buy? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 05:11 AM PDT I like the hero. He's easy-ish to farm on, has some micro. Can push super fast. His ult's really useful in teamfights or escape. What lanes is he best in? Is he viable as a safelane carry? What are the best builds for him? I see Phase, HotD, Necro 3, Blink/SB as common on the suggested builds. I've had moderate success with this in party. I'm thinking of spamming him in the 500 mmr bracket to learn core (I play support exclusively in party ranked at 2k). [link] [comments] |
Can i get a complete list of offlaners this patch? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 05:04 PM PDT Im looking to main offlane and want to know what my choices are. [link] [comments] |
So Riki is pretty absurd at the moment. Posted: 03 Apr 2018 08:35 PM PDT Riki's now touting a sub 60% winrate in pubs, while maintaining a very high pick rate. The ult is too good while having no downside, and is basically a riskless omnislash on a 30 second cooldown. Bonus points for ignoring creeps. Any decent counters? [link] [comments] |
Moon Shard is good item for drowRanger ?? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:58 AM PDT I only focus on Attack speed with first ability "on".Is this a good approach ?? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:32 PM PDT hello all, I'm spamming Io at the moment, sometimes my ult doesn't go off. What are some reasons for that? Any stun during the cast time will cancel it? [link] [comments] |
