Legend of Zelda Art Suggestions?

Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:48 AM PDT

Hi r/zelda!

Hopefully this is the right place to post. I need help finding Legend of Zelda art online. I am making a gift for a friend who LOVES the games. I want to use this style and need relatively intricate design inspirations. I don't know a ton about the games in general, but I was thinking that rupees might look kinda cool all shiny and colorful. I know that he has played all of the games and I think that Breath of the Wild may be his favorite. Any suggestions that you all have would be a great help, even if it's just links to sites with cool art.

I'm having a hard time getting into Zelda games? Are they worth playing?

Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:33 AM PDT

My first Zelda game was A Link to the Past and it's still one of my favorite games. I never had a chance to play any other Zelda game until I bought my Switch last year. Breath of the Wild is my all time favorite game and I've felt really bad that I missed out on playing the other Zelda games as I grew up. I found the Zelda collector's edition and Windwaker for the GameCube at a retro game shop and I was so pumped to finally get to play some classics.

I started with Ocarina of Time but I stopped playing when I was in Jabu Jabu's belly because the controls were just really tedious and clunky, and I also didn't like how that game was super hand holdy at times and then completely vague at others. I decided to start up Windwaker as I assumed they would've ironed out some wrinkles with the gameplay (which they did as the targeting system in particular was much better than Oot). However, I'm so frustrated with the camera controls and I've come to the realization that I kinda of really really hate 3rd person single analog controls. After getting so used to BotW's controls, going back to the older games is just so jarring. As I understand it, TP and SS have similar controls right?

So should I take the time and suck up my hatred for the controls to play the games? Are they really that good as everyone says, or is everyone looking at them through rose tinted lenses?
