Hearthstone - Theorycrafting Thursdays Weekly Discussion

Theorycrafting Thursdays Weekly Discussion

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 04:10 PM PST

Hello members of the /r/hearthstone community,

This is a weekly thread designed for more advanced discussion regarding the intricacies of Hearthstone. Questions and answers should be focused on high-level theory crafting, such as card synergy, efficient mana drafts, and the viability of cards in certain situations.

Please keep it clean and try to add more than just a one or two word response. As the goal of this post is to increase the community's knowledge, the thought process matters as much as the answer! There is also a Newbie Tuesday weekly post, for those who wish to discuss the basics.

Note: I am a bot. Questions or feedback regarding this thread? Message the moderators.

But thought it said "Play a 10 Card Combo" so then I proceeded to make a Wild Mage deck and attempt to pull a 10 card combo for like 30 -45 minutes.

End of Multi-Region Rewards for Hearthstone (TwitchPrime, BlizzGifts, ItemCodes) GM RESPONSE

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 07:12 AM PST

Hey Guys,

Devote multi-region Hearthstone player here.

Some of you might have noticed some irregularities with the latest TwitchPrime gift for Hearthstone, mainly it being awarded to only one play region.

While some of you were still hoping for the 2 packs to show up on the other regions I took the time to contact customer support to get some official word on the story.

It turns out that multi-region rewards for Hearthstone are a thing of the past. According to a GM I spoke to the reward will be given to the first region you log onto! (But even the GM was not sure about this as Blizzard changed the rules regarding this just recently)

GM RESPONSE

It seems that they are only available in a single region from now on, you should be able to choose which region you want them on, but due to changes with the way our systems work, they're region specific now, and won't automatically granted to all 3 As we spoke about earlier it seems that the way we deal with promotions has changed, and now they will be claimed on only one region, which should be the first region that you log into after claiming the reward. Again, I'm sorry that this is frustrating, and I wish that we could assist with this.

I fear this will have loads of consequences for enthusiastic collectors. Take for example the card backs awarded for the OktoberBrawl, under these new rules it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to acquire those card backs on all three regions because of the one TwitchPrime reward per battle.net account limitation.

I believe this sets a very dangerous precedent and will have very sad consequences for any true collector of card backs and the like.

I then preceded to ask the GM how ItemCodes, such as the TESPA, PowerCore and ThrillOfVictory card backs will be handled in the future but they also had no information on that issue either.

Furthermore, this new rule also applies to compensations such as the recent lack of quest spawns expierencced on ALL regions but compensated only to one region via battle.net gifts even though quest were missing on all server regions!

I hope this post brings some attention so that a credible dev can give a comment to this as in a collectible card game there shouldn't be a point where it is impossible to acquire something, yes it can be hard and backbreaking like the golden card back, but it should never be impossible!

Edit: Some one pointed out the Choose Your Champion promotion packs will the also be single region from now on? It is really hard to tell how far these new rules go we really need an official word on all that World Championships are just around the corner!

Edit2: People are already imagining the worst one poster brought up the free packs we get with each expansion will these packs become single region too? The way things are going recently it is not unthinkable! We need answers!

TLDR: no more multi-region rewards. You get your stuff on the region you logon first.

"Why don't people in Wild play Dr. Boom anymore?"

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 12:12 PM PST

It finally happened.

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 07:18 AM PST

It's time for me to write about this. My Twitch Prime account has been linked to the wrong Blizzard account since the Oktoberbrawl Backs despite exhaustive efforts to fix it, and it's driving me insane.

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:36 PM PST

I've been trying my best to not write a public Reddit post about my problems with Twitch Prime linkage for a long time now, but after the Oktoberbrawl card backs, the Golden Card Pack, and now the two free KnC packs ALL going to my friend's account instead of mine due to how impossible it is to modify a Twitch Prime-Blizzard account link, I'm done keeping this issue between myself and support.

Hear me out from the top. When the Oktoberbrawl Card Backs reward from Twitch Prime was revealed, they changed the system in which Hearthstone Twitch Prime rewards were given out to people from a code-based reward claim to an account-based reward system (which I presume was due to a large amount of people asking other Twitch users for their Tyrande code). This means that instead of unlocking Hearthstone content through the use of a character-number code, the user must instead link their Blizzard account to their Twitch account and the Hearthstone rewards would automatically be added to their Blizzard account as they are unlocked.

At the time in which I was first linking my Twitch Prime account to a Blizzard account, I was using my friend's PC, as I currently did not have access to my own PC. When prompted to authorize the use of my Twitch account, Twitch Prime did not notify me that there would be no prompt in which to login using a Blizzard account and instead automatically linked my Twitch Prime account to the Blizzard account currently logged into on the computer (which was his Blizzard account). Not only this, it automatically gave the Oktoberbrawl Card Backs to my friend's account, all with the single click of "authorize" for linking my Twitch account to Twitch Prime.

Flabbergasted, I contacted the FAQ to try and learn more, and it states in the FAQ that "Each offer can only be applied to a single Blizzard account. Each Blizzard account can only receive one offer." Upset, I asked my friend if he could start a free trial of Amazon Prime so I could link my account and claim the card backs. He obliged, so I put the issue down at the time. I then went into my friend's Twitch account's settings menu and removed my Blizzard account from the connections and connected my Blizzard account to my Twitch account (the one with Twitch Prime), assuming that the problem would be fixed for next time a reward rolled out.

It wasn't. The Golden Pack was given to my friend's Blizzard account, despite not a trace of my friend's Blizzard account being linked to my Twitch Prime and my Twitch account specifically being linked to my own Blizzard account. This is when I began to contact Twitch and Battle.net support about the matter. /u/tazzgonzo was in charge of managing complications related to users having trouble receiving the Golden Card Pack, so I sent him a private message on Reddit on the matter. While he tried his best to resolve the matter (and stated my content could be re-claimed by the correct account), it unfortunately was not the case, as I was unable to claim the Golden Pack on my account after the conversation concluded.

I then turned to sending a Battle.net support ticket in hopes of transferring the Golden Pack to my account and/or fixing the problem with account linkage between Twitch Prime and Blizzard. Unfortunately, as the accounts weren't both mine, Blizzard was unable to move the pack between the accounts.

I ended up getting a Golden Pack later on after asking my friend about getting Amazon Prime for a month so I could claim the reward. He refused to pay for a month of the subscription, so I ended up having to pay two times for Amazon Prime that month so I could get the Twitch Prime reward on my account. Afterwards, I made sure once again that his Twitch account wasn't linked to my Blizzard account and my Twitch (with Prime) account was indeed linked to my own Blizzard account.

This brings me to today. Despite two seperate conversations with both parties' support teams, my Twitch Prime rewards are once again being funneled to the wrong account: my friend's account. It appears that "Each offer can only be applied to a single Blizzard account. Each Blizzard account can only receive one offer." in the FAQ must have meant "Once you link a Twitch Prime account to a Blizzard account, it cannot be re-routed", since no matter how many times I made sure that my Twitch account was connected to my own Blizzard account, my friend continued and continues to receive my Twitch Prime rewards.

I get that two KnC packs aren't that big of a reward in comparison to card backs or the golden pack this time around, but considering the pattern of how things have been going, I am to believe that more interesting and valuable rewards from Twitch Prime in the future will be going to my friend's account automatically.

I have not yet contacted Twitch or Blizzard support this time around, but I will be doing so anyways in the near future, especially if this post doesn't get any attention.

I will not be cancelling my Amazon Prime subscription since I use the account for much more than just Twitch Prime rewards, but this is still very upsetting as I am forced to pay for a second subscription to Amazon Prime if I wish to reap the Hearthstone rewards from Amazon Prime.

I suppose I want to know if anybody else is having this issue with Twitch Prime Loot and if you'd be willing to share your experiences with it or give any advice on the matter. Do I need to change more than just my Twitch account's connected Blizzard account in order to send the Twitch Prime Loot to my own account?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Upon looking over this after posting, I'm not really sure if this is within the rules. If a moderator doesn't think so, I can remove references to conversations with Twitch/Blizzard's support teams and/or the reference to a specific reddit user. Apologies for this if it violates anything; this is only my second post to this subreddit.

Chat is calling it Weasel priest or Torture priest. It consists on shuffling weasel tunnelers in your opponent's deck and it is hilarious!

I love the deck, I have been playing since beta and it feels like one of the best decks I have ever seen, both fun to play skill wise and meme wise. Plus he is doing great with it!
