| Can anyone help a true noob out? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 08:47 AM PDT I played fighting games growing up but I usually played exclusively Tekken and Soul Calibur or similar games. I've never been one to get overly competitive or technical with fighting games. Never learned frame data and the like. So that being said, as a super casual essentially "true noob", where should I really start to actually begin getting decent at SFV? PS, favorite character in SF has always been Sakura but I'm still a little ways away in FM to buy her. Currently playing basically only Ken and occasionally Laura. Posted: 08 Apr 2018 08:33 AM PDT I haven't played SF5 For ages and was interested in getting back into it, but I've noticed a massive hitch in the netcode. Bearing in mind, I've dabbled with injustice, play DBFZ and even had a few games of Marvel (when i get em), and they're all fine, but SFV seems to be worse than it used to be. I just finished playing a lobby match were we had 5 bars in the lobby and 2 bars in the End of round screen popped up. We're both in the UK, and both play each other in the other games listed above. | Something is wrong with menat's orbs on ps4 Posted: 08 Apr 2018 10:22 AM PDT So I tried playing the game last night and noticed something strange. Menats orbs now come out waaayy easier when you press buttons. Even if you input a soul sphere they come out instantly wtf. Was this patched in secretly? Also negative edge on orbs react way sooner . Can someone test this and see if I'm just getting old? Note that I am not holding the button I even tried plinking inputs and both the orbs would come out so i'm definitely not holding the button in too long,I know that would release the orbs and yes I an do all her fancy 40 hit combos. | What is going on with the CrossCounter channel? Posted: 07 Apr 2018 11:18 PM PDT I am a huge fan of Gootecks (and Mike Ross, but I'm assuming he isn't part of the brand anymore). I got into it with the first Excellent Adventures and have been watching ever since. I even watched the streams with Gootecks where he streamed variety games such as Fairy Godmother Tycoon. However, the channel (referring mostly to the twitch channel) seems to have switched from following Gootecks to some other people. There seemed to be a constant stream called "Sled sessions with Ian" or something, and nowadays there is a focus on some girls learning Street Fighter. These people might appeal to some, but I personally want to watch Gootecks streaming rather than these other people. As of this post, Crosscounter is streaming with a girl leaning to play the game (avoiding the name here) for 70 viewers. I'm wondering if there is any plans to return to Gootecks focused content, and maybe just a general opinion of the current content. I have no problem with these people and I understand Gootecks can do whatever he wants with his channel, but it would be cool to see Gootecks being the focus of the stream at some point, even if its playing a different game (maybe the SF Aniversary collection might bring in some 3S gameplay?).
