Sorry for the confusing title.

So, this isn't something Reddit discusses very often, given that reddit represents mostly high level veterans to the game, so this change wouldn't affect most of you guys. Even your Ironman/hcim alts at this point tend to be pretty high level so again, you missed being shafted by this change.

Jagex has removed the only benefit to doing quests at low levels. They've added requirements to quest rewards to basically completely nullify the usefulness of questing at a low level to get past some frustrating spots in training.

Case and point; everyone knows that if you complete Knight's Sword, you get 12k smithing xp, brining you from whatever the quest requires (8?) to 30. That's how low level smithing goes.

Well, no, not anymore. They've changed it so you need 28 smithing to even claim the reward, despite 28 smithing not being a requirement of the quest. At 28, you get all the way up to 36, but there's a lot less content in 28-36 as there is in 1-30.

Jagex, low level accounts do quests for xp because that's the only time they are relevant. All these old quests like knights sword have a role in low level gameplay that for some reason you've decided to remove after almost 15 years. Why? Training smithing at lower levels on ironmen accounts is hell, and having to grind just to claim the only reward to a quest is absurd.

Forcing quest reward requirements means they're meaningless at lower levels, and the rewards are less significant when you can claim them.

Isn't there enough grind at higher levels that if a new player gets 1-30 smithing from a quest like every account before him, it's not really skipping past any of the grind so many people just adore?

I challenge anyone to come up with one solid reason that quests should have their reward level locked by levels not required to start the quest.

And Jagex, I urge you to change your policy on this. It's not punishing your high level majority but it's just one more thing stifling new players when they try to enjoy Runescape for the first time. Don't ruin quests in the only phase of an account where the xp rewards are truly relevant.

Some maxed fuck tried to duel me and im level 3, decided to humor him, he one shot me and i actually went to see death in draynor? I lost 100m worth of divine charges. So what the fuck just happened jagex?
