My best melee fighter keeps beating up my ugly medic. I decided to try arresting him this time, not realizing he would go berserk and down half the colony...

So I drew the improvised turret and mortar, excuse my horrible drawing skills as well

One of the most normal 'art' pieces on a sarcophagus i've had...

So it turns out a pawn can get a heatstroke and hypothermia at the same time

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 08:04 PM PDT

I finally launched the ship. First colony too. Cassandra Rough, 10 year colony, and no colonists killed

Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life... well guess not

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 03:32 PM PDT

My pawn is older biologically than chronologically... Some one spent too much time in near light-speed.

The Mighty Muffaloaf

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 01:48 PM PDT

We recently adopted a cat named Muffin Man. Since he was gigantic and largely white, we quickly took to calling him Muffalo.

I think he might be starting to take his Rimworld name too seriously ...

I present to you the mighty Muffaloaf.

What items or aspects of the game don't you use at all, and why?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 11:13 AM PDT

So far, I haven't used a Power Claw once, or installed Scyther Blades on any of my colonists - I've replaced the whole arm if they get their hands injured, and given my melee pawns plasteel longswords, instead.

In fact, I haven't used melee at all until shields become available, and by that point, most of the melee weapons are obsolete.

I also haven't used any drugs other than Penoxycyline, nor ramped up any sort of drug production. I had a full-fledged brewery operation going on my last colony, but the beer was strictly for trading.

To date, I haven't butchered a single humanlike, nor made any clothing out of my enemies. Because that would be wrong. But mostly because I haven't ever run out of pigskin.

How 'bout you?

RedWorld - Reddit runs a colony

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 08:09 PM PDT

So, I thought, what would be a new take on the RimWorld experience? Having a bunch of random people determine what happens in the colony! Perfect! Nothing could go wrong with that plan! And thus, the idea for RedWorld was born. You guys dictate everything, the buildings, the colonist names, who becomes a hat and who doesn't. Everything. I will mostly be actually playing the colony, but I will have absolutely no say at all about what I do. That will all be up to you. I'll make sure to keep you updated regularly and communicate through the RedWorld Discord, which you can join here: https://discord.gg/4BschjD

Come help probably have an entire colony burn and/or drown in hats!

Tales from the Outer Rim: The Tragedy of Matt

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 07:46 PM PDT

A while back, I rescued an incapacitated refugee named Matt. None of his skills were particularly great, but he did have a passion for cooking, so he spent most of his time in the kitchen. He was also a bit of an abrasive jerk, so no one else in the colony particularly liked him.

Until that one fateful day when he picked a fight with Marsh, my main crafter and a crack shot with a revolver. They spend a good few minutes whaling on each other before Matt finally yields and they both go back to their rooms to get patched up. The pain from his bruises eventually causes Matt to have a psychotic wandering mental break. I didn't want to wait for him to snap out of it on his own, so I sent Marsh over to knock some sense into him, figuring they already didn't like each other after the fight, so what the hell, might as well have it be her so none of his other relationships suffer. She ends up beating him to death. Whoops.

Remember how I mentioned earlier how no one else really liked him? Well, now everyone has a +4 'rival died' mood buff. But regardless, he was a member of the colony so he gets a dignified burial in a marble sarcophagus just like every other colonist. But adding additional insult to injury, not only does his coffin's engraving depict Marsh beating the shit out of him, it bears the name of his murderer as well.

I love this game.

In Rimworld, you can craft plasma rifles but you can't invent the wheel

Posted: 28 Apr 2018 01:21 AM PDT

Hi people

Last night, I had the bad surprise of being with two colonists who were deprived of their legs definitely after a raid. The first ended up with the spine botched and the other with the pelvis destroyed.

One was my researcher and the other was my animal trainer.

So, by turning them into kibbles, I realized one thing: in RimWorld, we can make crazy things : plasma guns, solar panels, power armors, even a spaceship ... But no way to make a fucking wheelchair. Yet some colonists does not need to transport things to do their jobs.

In fact, I even found out that no technology in RimWorld contains wheels. Is it an universe where humanity has developed without discovering this primitive technology?

What do you think ?
