These are some moments from the book where the team captain gets pissed at the virutal training program. All the glitches in this game are just a big reference to the book!

What I have learned from 300hrs and reaching platinum.

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:56 AM PDT

I joined this game after operation health mid-season reinforcements and it has been the best game I've played full stop. I have now hit 500hrs and last season I got plat just as the season finished. This season I hit plat again the other day. I wanted to create this post to share with you both, what I have learned and, how most people in gold can break this barrier. I don't want to talk about general points such as "learn the maps" because I am sure you have heard those a thousand times before, I want to tell you what helped me to get to plat.

  1. Play confidently. I can't stress this enough, if you sit in a corner of the site and try to hold an angle until some unlucky attacker runs past you won't get a kill. The confident player who will drone you out will run around the corner at 10000mph as ash and fast peek you. You will be dead before you have a chance to react. Instead, move around the site and peek the angle yourself. Go from one place to another and peek the angles to catch people off guard. I have seen so many friends get nervous when they play ranked because they don't want to let the team down. If you are more scared of dying than losing a round, you are playing the game wrong. Always go for the big play. Droning also helps, I you know where they are you are less likely to panick.

  2. Put yourself in the enemies shoes. Think about what you would do in their situation and play to counterplay that. 8 out of 10 times they will do what you would have done. This could mean many things, if there is a wide angle you usually don't check properly, because no-one plays it, then use it yourself. If you didn't expect it the enemy may not as well.

  3. Record your gameplay and watch it back. I know not everyone can do this but it helps so much to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again. No matter how hard you try, you cannot realize what you are doing wrong in the heat of the round. If you are losing game after game just take a break and watch yourself playing. This also helps you get off of losing streaks. I personally find I learn the most when editing my own gameplay. It helps me actually concentrate and see what I am doing wrong instead of just skimming through the video. This may not work for everyone but give it a try.

  4. Play custom games to get away from the stress of ranked. I often play a 3v3 custom game with some friends instead of ranked. Not only is it great fun, but it also means you loosen up and play with more confidence. This can help when it comes to playing ranked games. If you can't find anyone to play with try R6TM, it is essentially ranked but without the rank attached. A 5v5 custom game with good players, usually gold 2 to diamond. This may not be for everybody but you can play without stress and with teammates who you can learn from.

  5. Find an operator you like to play and play them. This is a bit like your sensitivity, constantly changing it won't help. It could be any operator but having a bad day with Twitch doesn't mean you should never play her again. As you play an operator you create your own small strategies which are different from the normal strategy. For example, I like going garage on bank with Twitch to open the Mira window everyone always places, looking into garage, and forgets about. Then I push from behind while my team does the normal strat and goes servers. Playing only a few operators will help you play your way.

Thanks anyone who is still reading this. I hope this will help you win more games and improve how you play. Have fun guys!

Sorry for any typing errors.
