After nearly 2yrs of Pokémon Go there should be more exciting and better ways to get your 50 coins a day.

It's been the same song and dance since the summer of 2016 and I for one would like a different means of earning our daily coins. It's just a waiting game that I don't feel is fun and has run its course. In the beginning, WE controlled the situation by collecting our coins once WE were ready. Now we have to wait to get knocked out to collect? Surely they can do better. If you want the gym to turnover, Niantic, then just have us recall our pokémon to collect.

Anyway, that's just one idea. Here are others. I'm sure you guys have your own ideas as well so let's share.

  1. As stated already, recall pokémon in gyms and earn up to 50 coins total for that day.
  2. Battle one raid boss that day and earn 10 coins.
  3. Fully heal a pokémon and earn 1 coin.
  4. Complete a task and earn 1 coin.
  5. Take an AR photo and earn 1 coin.
  6. Feed pokémon 50x and earn 10 coins.

The possibilities are endless. EDIT: The 50 coins a day cap applies to all activities collectively.

i always appraise my pokemon, but sometimes they're too similar or i don't know how to prioritize the first part of what my trainer says against the second thing (ie, "your pokemon simply amazes me" and "it has excellent stats" vs "you have a strong pokemon" and "it's stats BLOW ME AWAY"). i also don't know how to prioritize their move sets. is there any definitive way to know exactly which pokemon to keep?

I'm afraid the next mythical discovery will involve another hard evolution. Doubt they'd do magikarp again and that leaves Wailmer or Swablu as a possibility. Or none at all I suppose. I'm probably overthinking this.

What about a birthday event for each player? Such as Nintendo did in the past with the “Birthday Event Pokémon” (Eeveelution)

From October 12, 2013 to September 30, 2015 for Nintendo's franchise (X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) an Eeveelution was distributed to players at Pokémon Center stores in Japan if they visited the Pokémon Center during the month of their birthday. They had to provide the proof of their date of birth, but it's a step Niantic can solve when we log in with our account.

(Which Eeveelution to choose depended on players' preference)

Also into Nintendo's Pokémon Games upon entering a Pokémon Center for the first time on a birthday, the lights are dimmed and a party popper goes off and a birthday cake will be shown on the screen above the counter in all Pokémon Center of the region (since gen VI).

So why don't introduce a birthday event in pogo too? I don't mind to choose an Eeveelution with a special move (such as Nintendo did -Celebrate move-) and potentially with good IV. If not an Eeveelution it can be other rare Pokémon (for example 10km eggs hatched).

If not an event it can be a one-day quest: till you won't complete it, you can keep on receiving it from a pokestop.

But the point is: why don't make special your birthday also in pogo? (Independently from which Pokémon you will receive as a gift)

Shiny Wailmer

I'm having trouble finding shiny wailmer... I've been going nuts over the past couple of days trying to find one. I started with 0 candies, and now I'm just over 2,700. Still no shiny.. Is there anything I can do to increase my odds or finding a shiny? Or do I just need to keep tapping on every wailmer I find?
