Any recommendations on learning how to blink full distance with blink dagger?

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 04:59 PM PDT

I can't figure out how to blink 1100 and was wondering if people people have tips in figuring out how to blink efficiently. I don't know how to judge blink distance so I often need to plan to just go 900 or I'll have a failed gank due to messed up positioning.

I have blink dagger put on a key with auto-cast which makes it easier.

Laning in the first 10 min

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 07:54 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm a 1.6k crusader srub and during the past few months, I've been practicing a lot of last hitting and maintaining creep equilibrium in a 10 min lobby. But if I'm in a real game, I'm quite loss on when to try and maintain equilibrium or when to push and go for jungle creeps. Not to mention, in this mmr, the enemy dual lane constantly hit creeps, so the equilibrium is always pushing towards my tower. I also have no concept of when and how to be using creep aggro. I'm also pretty sure there's a bajillion others laning concepts that higher mmr players use but I don't. Searching google for this hasn't really given me any results since the information is disjointed and everywhere. What are some other laning concepts(other than last-hitting) that I can apply and use in my games to be a better carry player?

Coaching for you guys

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 02:50 AM PDT

I'm not the best player in the world, ex 5k, now back in the 4k realm.. PepeHands. But I think I can watch some of your games and give you some minor tips if you are 2-3k. Back in time one guy kept watching my games for free, he really helped me a lot. I met him on this subreddit but hes done with dota since a long time. It's time to pay this subreddit back! My server is Eu but I stay up at night so if you are from another time zone no problem :)

How to play morphling?

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 07:44 PM PDT

https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3821898542

I felt so useless that game. This happens everytime I play morphling. Just not enough damage, and i just get controlled and i die even when full strength morph. Also how to deal with underlord? This hero seems so powerful and broken in every stage of the game it's ridiculous. I know I havent been really specific but I just feel like I can never carry as morphling. This game is an example.

Treant Protector

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 05:08 PM PDT

I love the hero. Amazing kill potential early game with OoV, a heal that affects everything allied, an incredible team-fighting ult. Not to mention the high base damage as well.

But, i was wondering, if there were any advanced mechanics for the hero. I really wanna take my Treant gameplay to the next level and wreck pubs with him XD

Feedback is highly appreciated!

Why am I on such a bad losing streak? Could someone look at my dotabuff and tell me what I am doing wrong?

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 09:42 AM PDT

I calibrated ~1700 mmr, and I was at 1950 on Monday. Lately I've been on a horrible downstreak, and I've lost 5 games in a row. I practice my creepscore regularly, and I get good amounts of last hits when I play carry. I also try my best to help my carries farm as a support, but I'm obviously doing something wrong. If somebody could look at my dotabuff and tell me where I am going wrong I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Edit: Thanks so much for all of your help. I've learned that I have been delusional with some of my bad habits and a lot about what I've been doing wrong.

Aeon Disk Discussion

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 01:16 AM PDT

So, recently I've been trying find a way to use it. Here's what I've concluded about it:

  • Probably best on heroes that don't do damage.
  • Second best on heroes that use summons, or external/not-directly from the hero sources of damage. IE: WD Ulti

  • Times/Lineups/Heroes to maybe buy it on

  • If you really want to trip-out a Batrider, or if the enemy team has some form of hard lockdown. And after some testing in D2, I've thrown together a quick list of heroes that I think, work best with it:

  • Witch Doctor: Can ulti, Disk proc, still does dmg to heroes.

  • Tidehunter: Can now more safely initiate/run around spamming Q+W

  • Undying: Still stealing STR. Albeit, sacking the damage.

  • Legion Commander: Hear me out. You're behind in the game, your team can single out one hero if you duel them. You buy an Aeon Disk. Now, you dont have to be the one who kills them. (Kills your blademail though). You could by an Agha, but this prevents your team from doing damage to them.

  • Rat Natures/Lycan/Beatmaster: You're pushing a tower, they stun you, you just run away. Rinse and repeat.

  • Brewmaster: Lets you pop your ultimate even if they get the jump on you. (Provided they dont work around your stun)

  • IO: Keeps you from taking dmg, allows you to heal you and your friend.

  • Oracle: Pocket Ulti. Feel free to criticize this, seeing as I only took about 2 days to think-tank it, and test some of it in my free time. (PS. I suck at formatting and reddit in general)

  • I personally love it, and it's utility. But it's just convenient when I need it. So, feel free to also share your opinions of it!

Timing for Aquila+Treads+Battlefury?

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 11:29 PM PDT

Title, mostly. I've been getting 18 min Battlefuries in my most recent games (It's been mostly Ember Spirit and Monkey King, heroes that build it for teamfight as much as farm). Obviously I'm not hitting the standard 15 min timing, but I've also been building Aquila and Treads first. Is an 18 min timing good?

Illusions micro problems

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 04:38 AM PDT

Recently I've had problems while microing my illusions, they will often attack creeps that the main hero is attacking THEN proceeds with the action I've asked them to do (A+Click) lanes, camps.

What I'd do before is still the same which is pressing (3) - Select all Other Units + A+Click and Voila. But recently something has changed and I'm not sure which settings it is. Thoughts? Anybody knows the solution to this?

Any good carry-support heroes to spam?

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 04:09 AM PDT

Just started at DotA2 like 2 months ago, and I'm looking for heroes to first pick and have them built according to what my team and enemy team picks.

I like playing pos1/2, no experience in anything else

SEA is slightly terrible when it comes to teamwork so I need this a lot.

So far it's only Clinkz I can play properly with (pos1 or 2) or otherwise I'll get reported for feeding

Support player looking for core heroes

Posted: 06 Apr 2018 09:41 PM PDT

So basically i am almost exclusively a support player that is looking for some core heroes(pos 1 and pos 2) to play in order not to cary himself anyway forward but to geth some better grasp on the flow of the game from pos 1/2 perspective in order to support more efficiently.

Since I always really enjoyed a support playstyle in general i didn't found a need to play pos 1/2 almost at all (with exception of short Huskar episode) but i came to conclusion that in order to do my role more efficently i have to gather some more experience on the playstyle of a role i'm supporting to, so I figured I could start playing pos 1/2 a little bit more often.

If it was up to me I would play Huskar/DK (whom i play as offlane occasionally) but i realize that they are more of situational picks with huskar being heavily out of meta and underpowered.

I find myself to be a decent farmer if a need arises but I would really like to avoid some hypercarry cores since I prefer to be able to cooperate in objective gaming and teamfights rather earlier than later (I tend to play with buddies that are much better than me so we work together a lot). What I am looking to at my core choices for safelane and mid would mostly be reliability. I'd rather have a string of good games, rather than very good - very bad game alternately. Some CC on top of that would be welcome. I don't mind playing and spamming one hero only, since i will play those roles only occasionally in order to improve myself.

I am archon III player and since i queue with ancient and divine players I'm playing mostly against legends and ancients - taking that into consideration I realize that i'm not going to carry many games by myself so I'd rather have a decent, reliable carry option to work well with the team, rather than some high risk, high reward choices.

Is it worth to learn how to play Meepo?

Posted: 07 Apr 2018 12:30 AM PDT

I always kinda wanted to learn a hard hero, I climbed from 2k to 3k learning the game but at a 52% winrate (59%/60% with my best hero) I feel the climb is too stale. I also always wanted to learn how to play a mid hero properly since it's my weakest lane. And also I can play him safelane if I don't get mid.

Meepo was also such a tempting hero to learn since I watched those stompers lvl 25 while I was lvl 14 with my hero but I was too noob to the game to complicate myself with him. Now I have a friend with 400 games with Meepo at a 60% winrate who is Ancient 1 and is willing to teach me.

The question is, what do you guys think, is it worth to learn how to play Meepo to spam him on ranked games and climb to Ancient / Divine easy? Or the hero is too bad now?

TLDR: Is Meepo still good?
