It's all about #EXPECTATION
#OGresurrection

Expect is the second player to be announced of the Origen roster, following inSec as their jungler.

From 2016 Summer Split until 2017 Worlds Expect was on G2 Esports and won the EU LCS 3 times.

Origen will compete in the 2018 Spring European Masters, the new "second tier" tournament replacing the old European Challenger Series.
There they are pre-qualified for the Main Stage, which starts on April 14, because of their spot in the EU CS last year.

Hey r/lol! I'm Scarizard, former designer, host, & Patch Notes Comedian at Riot Games. Today I'm launching a YT channel to work on entertaining and educational League content. AMA!

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 12:11 PM PDT

Saludos, Invocadores (Greetings, Summoners)

I'm Patrick Scarborough, or the Artist formerly known as RiotScarizard. After working on League of Legends for 5 years, I left early 2017 to pursue some personal goals and challenges - which led me down the path of streaming and content creation a few months later. If we've never met, I'm glad to meet you! If we have interacted, it's good to see you again. In both cases, I'm glad you're here.

For those of you unfamiliar with my work, here's some highlights from over the years:

  • Gameplay designer for the Karma Rework (2013)
  • Worked as a Live Balance designer from 2012-2014 on Kha'Zix, Zed, Lucian, the first Garen Rework, & Vel'Koz
  • Helped design the updated Twisted Treeline
  • Worked on the Summoner's Rift Update with ManWolfAxeBoss, Nekomaru, Nome, and the most talented artists I've ever met
  • Hosted & helped produce the official Patch Rundown series on YouTube for a little over a year
  • Hosted the League Community Podcast, focusing on bringing stories of the Rioters behind champions & champion updates to light (I highly recommend the Ivern one)
  • Hosted weekly Design Livestreams with various designers at Riot, along with a monthly Q&A with Ghostcrawler
  • Wrote & Voiced the Ekko, Illaoi, Midseason & Preseason spotlights (and then ACTUALLY GANKED TOPLANE)
  • Wrote for the Patch Notes alongside Pwyff, Aether, Gentleman Gustaf and Luqizilla for almost 3 years
  • Beat Doublelift and Xpecial in an internal playtest playing pre-nerf Lucian with Madlife's Nami
  • Helped Cactopus get to gold by telling him about how broken Mistfortune was late 2016

It's been a really fun and fulfilling journey streaming for the last year, but League of Legends and its community have never left my heart. That's why alongside one of my oldest friends, I've finally made the jump to YouTube and am devoted to working on content for the League playerbase that I think isn't being offered at the moment. League in many ways saved my life, and I'm going to do everything I can to give back in any way I can.

Want to hear fun stories about your favorite Rioter? Wanna get my hot takes about the state of the game, the community, or its future? Want to talk about the mental challenges of being an independent creator? I'm here for anything and everything, and I'll be hanging around for a few hours to answer these questions and more about anything that comes to mind. Ask me anything!

EDIT: no banerino but if y'all wanna find my stuff check out: twitch.tv/scarizardplays / https://bit.ly/2EhDuuz for our new YT channel!

Minions that can emote.... should remain.

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 07:23 AM PDT

Not sure why but I'm enjoying the game a bit more with the minions having a little more personality than just mindless drones. To reduce spam, have them emote during the following events:

  • Champion Kill
  • Ace
  • Turret Destroyed
  • Dragon/Baron taken (One side is cheering, other side is afraid)
  • Inhibitor Destroyed (1st time)
  • And lastly, GG or WP emote on Nexus Destroyed

Just been enjoying a bit more interaction and amusement with them, and the Mastery 7 flash if a minion kills a champion helps bring home how amusing it is to survive a team dive only for Caster Minion #548 managing to score a kill.

PeacePigeon is leaving Riot and will return to youtube/freelancing

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 05:33 AM PDT

Twitter Source

His full announcement below:

I'm leaving Riot and will return to the YouTube/Freelance grind.

Hey all! Here's some context and a partial life story no one asked for.

Four years ago I decided to ditch my career as an economics teacher for YouTube. Although it was quite the controversial decision at the time; knowing I had the full support of you guys, my family and my friends in OBC, I knew it was the right choice.

The following two years of my life I was free to execute my passion. It was a dream come true. However, all dreams must come to an end. Pleasing the YouTube algorithm is rough and with time I felt an increase sense of social isolation. In terms of mental health and long-term financial sustainability I knew I had to make a change in my life.

The English Team at Riot Dublin needed a content specialist. Timing couldn't have been more perfect. I'll forever be thankful for those that took me in. Working in the gaming industry allowed me to meet so many great people and taught me craft, professionalism and how to no leave your computer unlocked in the work space. Hopefully, along the years, you have noticed some Riot videos that had that 'peacepigeon' touch.

At the end of the day a healthy career is all about progression. In terms of video craft and Riot, that progression could be found at Riot's mother-ship in L.A.. After some intense self-reflection I decided that I'm not ready to cross the Atlantic and start a new life.

The question arised; What the hell do I do now? I still didn't really figure that out. I do know I need some time and some fresh air. I also know I want to do video for the rest of my life. For the time being, I'm helping out DrDisrespect (and Alex ;) ) managing his YouTube channel.

https://www.youtube.com/user/DrDisRespect

I'm really looking forward on elevating the concept of a typical 'Streamer's YouTube channel' AND to boost the Doc's brand with new content opportunities.

I genuinely don't know if people even want to hear all of this stuff, if anything, it's helpful writing down and reflecting on my thoughts. I'm anxious but excited for what the future will bring. Thank you Riot for an awesome experience (we might meet again someday). Thank YOU ALL for watching my content. And thank you to my family and friends for always supporting my life decisions.

Zoe's win rate in One For All is 19%

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 08:24 AM PDT

She's by far the worst out of the 10 most popular champions in One For All; she's #7 by popularity and #132 by win rate (7th worst). If you queue up to stomp, don't pick her!

Other interesting stats: Trundle and Wukong have a win rate in excess of 80%. Bard is the worst 1FA champion with a win rate of 11%. Yasuo is the most popular (did anyone doubt that). Illaoi stomps Katarina 100% of the time, while Lux vs Darius is the most fair of all matchups.

Who can beat Wukong, who seems unstoppable? How about Illaoi, with a 95% win rate against the monkeys.

Vel'Koz is a really good counter to 4 out of the top 5 champions in 1FA, with the one exception being Wukong.

I've posted this earlier, but I now have a lot more data (167,000 One For All matches) and I've updated the post to reflect it. See all of the stats here.

Tyler 1 went from Diamond 5 to Challenger back to Diamond 5 in 6 weeks

Posted: 02 Apr 2018 11:20 PM PDT

I find it very interesting, that much variance. Is there a difference after all between diamond and challenger lol? People used to say there seemed to be a huge difference between even high Diamond 1 and low Diamond 1. Of course, I know this is probably a pretty rare case.

I'm not really sure if it's merely trolling, entertainment or so on. I do find him being fairly serious most of the time about winning. Any thoughts? It's not even that he's playing various different champions, he still gets his draven games in at a good rate. Don't think he'll drop further, but his MMR is actually plat 1 elo right now. Anyone else see some crazy variances in elo where there weren't much variables changes?

4/3 PBE Update

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 12:37 PM PDT

One for all is nice, but here's a good way to improve it

Posted: 02 Apr 2018 06:11 PM PDT

  • Each player gets to pick their own champion

  • Cooldown reduction is set to 80%

  • All health pools and damage dealt are multiplied by 1000.

  • Gold income multiplied by x5

  • Level cap is 30

  • *oh yeah, remove mana costs

this is a very original idea that popped into my mind, any thoughts?

thank u

TIL there is one legacy left unbroken this playoffs. Meteos has never missed a finals when playing a full season.

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 10:15 AM PDT

Season 2 - Start of his pro career, but only as a sub.

Season 3 - Inaugural Cloud9 season, Meteos' first season as a starter. They won the finals!

Season 4 Spring - 1st place!

Season 4 Summer - 2nd place!

Season 5 Spring - 2nd Place!

Season 5 Summer - Hai retired from the midlane and then came back to replace Meteos in the jungle.

Season 6 Spring - Did not play.

Season 6 Summer - Came back on Cloud 9 full time - 2nd Place!

Season 7 Spring - Did not start, but replaced Inori on Phoenix 1 part way through the season. Inori came back at the end and Meteos stayed as a sub.

Season 7 Summer - Inori is listed as a starter, Meteos a sub. Then when it looked like Meteos would move to starter, Mike "MikeYeung" Yeung came in to win Rookie of the Split, with Meteos as a sub.

Season 8 Spring - Here we are, with 100Thieves stealing the breath away from Clutch Gaming and Febiven's hopes to reach finals after missing them for a few years, continuing Meteos' streak of going to the finals every year that he's been a starter all season.

TL;DR - Meteos is underrated and always finds a way to make it to finals. He has been to the finals on 3 separate teams, and only misses them when a sub.

Raptors should remain chickens indefinitely

Posted: 02 Apr 2018 06:19 PM PDT

Everyone already calls them chickens anyway, they don't look that different from League's normal style, and they are far more entertaining.

The chicken raptors add an additional breath of life and color the jungle, and the chicken sounds add a layer of uniqueness to the camp without breaking the immersion. Afterall, a bird would indeed make sounds just like that.

Trust me this would be awesome.

(Somewhat) Interesting but Useless facts about EU and NA LCS

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 05:26 AM PDT

Europe

•The finals between G2 and Fnatic in Copenhagen will be the finals with the most native (i.e. Danish in this case since the finals are in Denmark) players since the EULCS started, with Wunder, Caps and Broxah all being Danish.

•Despite either Fnatic or G2 being in every single EULCS finals, neither team has played the same team in finals more than once.

•It will also be the first finals since Spring 2015 where Zven and Mithy will not play.

•After the semifinals between G2 and Splyce, Splyce has been eliminated by G2 once at every stage of playoffs. (G2 beat Splyce before in 2017 Summer Quarterfinals as well as in the Finals of 2016 Summer.)

•In every single EULCS final to date, the team which had a name that was higher in the alphabet won. If this tradition is to persist, Fnatic must beat G2 as 'f' comes before 'g'.

North America

•Despite never making it past semifinals in Europe as a coach, Prolly made it to finals in his first split as an NA coach (NA easiest region confirmed)

•North America is the only region Huni has played in where he has not made finals. In fact, he has made finals in EVERY SPLIT he played in a region outside of NA, but has been eliminated in semifinals in every split he has played in NA. (NA hardest region confirmed)

•North America will be sending three entirely different teams to Rift Rivals this year: C9 and TSM were both eliminated at 5th/6th, while P1 is no longer in the LCS.

•The upcoming finals in Miami will be the first NALCS finals since Summer of 2013 with no European players.

•However it is also the first EVER NALCS final where both teams have filled all of their import slots. (While there have been finals with 4 imports before, Bjergsen technically does not take up an import slot.)

•Every team has filled out all of their import slots except Golden Guardians, who finished last in the regular season.
