The Engineer is a Greater Daemon of Chaos Undivided

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 12:34 PM PDT

  • Khorne: Gun turrets. When upgraded they can fire up to 25 Depleted Uranium bullets per turret per second. A line of those and ya've got enuff zoggin dakka to hold off an entire hive of tyranids biters. Laser turrets. Guardsman flashlights got nothing on this. Flamethrower turrets. For when we really need nothing left alive. Tanks. Our tank is also a bulldozer and half the time the best way to destroy things is to drive over them. And what do we do to the forests of the planets we capture? Grenades. Rockets. Shotguns. Flame. Not enough? Our words are backed with Nuclear Weapons!
  • Nurgle: Following our words to the trees, what do we do to the lands we conquer? We cover them in concrete and factories, and blanket the air in pollution. Mortals would choke and melt just from setting foot outdoors. But we are not mortal. And as our factories grow, their oldest sections become neglected; sitting there continuing to grind and spew forth pollution. Stagnant.
  • Slaanesh: Each factory is not enough. We must build more. We must build bigger. We must launch not rockets, but rockets per minute. We have no measure of "enough" or of "victory". And our eternal push into greater technology leads where? Mining Productivity. Even more resources. We explore to find more, we build to get more, we research to discover more, more, more. And we design, and redesign our factories to make them more modular, more tileable, more efficient, more productive, more compact. We search for the perfect factory. We search for the perfect build. And our brothers Thue, AntiElitz, and rain9441 (among many) have worked to perfect the fastest factories imaginable, leading teams and launching rockets in under three, or even two hours. But even these times are not enough. Never enough.
  • Tzeentch: Belts. Inserters. Drones. Assemblers. Miners. Order. Chaos. Democracy. Anarchy. The ground is covered in serpents of material, the air is filled with the wings of progress. Do we know what is going on? HELL NO! But is it progress? HELL YES! Do we have a plan? Eternally. Does our plan have plans? Recursively. Blueprints. Recursive Blueprints. Plans upon plans. And what is the greatest downfall of all our plans? The distraction of launching another plan! Sushi Belts. BloodBelts. Circuit logic. Nuclear reactors that self-monitor. Exact production ratios, with and without Production. No factories wasted. Black Magic. Zelos and Omnimods. ANGEL'S AND BOB'S MODS.

And what do we do when it is time to expand again? We find the most valuable ore and oil fields, and send forth the tanks, the artillery, the drones, and the trains. We launch black crusades. Crush the natives. Darken the skies. Deploy the blueprints. Load the trains, and DO IT AGAIN!

BELTS FOR THE BELT GOD! DRONES FOR THE DRONE THRONE! TRAINS FOR THE TRAIN CRUSADE!

Part 2 "Small" 4-way intersection. It has a high throughput on every test but beats the rest of the field with left only traffic due to having extra lanes. What do you think? (Clip with random traffic and not left only)

I got the game!

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 04:00 PM PDT

My bases look like spaghetti and are really inefficient but I'm having a pretty good time. Game can get tiring when shit is frustrating though.

My name on steam is Razzoxi so add me if you wanna play with a totally incompetent person who would really like to learn what goes into making something proper and good.

I think I just made it to the beginning of SeaBlock/SpaceX's endgame. First time past purple and yellow science.

I wanted a longer game. I made a mistake.

I DID IT!

My first rocket, after 500h and with full Bob and Angels and I missed the "Mom! Bring the camera!"-moment! Love the spaghetti madness!

Stupid Spaghetti Stress Test

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 04:02 PM PDT

Hey all,

Want to stress test Factorio 16.36! Going to see how many players it takes to crash now that it's updated!

Stress test will begin tomorrow morning at 9am CST!

Server Specs: 24 1995mhz Xeon cores 96Gb Memory 4x raid 5 Samsung 250Gb SSDs

Internet - Dedicated fiber: 75Mb Up 75Mb Down

If you're in for nonsense, the IP is the domain spaghetti.network

Currently set to 50 max players, will increment up 10 at a time until it explodes!

Lets get a rocket launched!!!

Long wait time for Construction bots to respond.

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 03:41 PM PDT

It seems like it takes a few minutes for the ROBO network to respond to Construction requests.. I am on a pretty big base, this is however a smaller separate robo network at an outpost. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/272193546331881476/434837707592695814/unknown.png The blueprint for a requeter chest has been set for a few minutes, there are available construction bots and requester chests inside of passive provider chests. But nothing happens. Any ideas?

Is Factorio fun for everyone?

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 03:02 AM PDT

OK, that might be a stupid headline but hear me out and see where I'm coming from. I've been looking at Factorio the last week, played the demo (which was a bit limited I think), since becoming aware of the game. It was described as "somewhat like Transport Tycoon Deluxe" which piqued my interest.

Now, everywhere I look I see fantastic designs and screenshots of complex factory setups, Great, the game offers depth and a challenge. But.... I'm a family man with limited time, an hour or two here and there. If I play anything ten hours per week it's a miracle.

Is factorio still fun even if you don't have quite as much time to invest? Am I overestimating the complexity? Is there progress even when playing on a smaller scale? Am I stupid for asking a dedicated community if their favourite pastime is "fun"?

Recursive Blueprints now supports blueprint cloning

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 12:52 AM PDT

I built a rail to the land of 50M+ ore patches (on default settings). Riding from one end of the rail (at my base) to the other (at the ore patches) takes two minutes even with nuclear fuel.
