Theorycraft Thursday - Discuss Builds, Skills, Strategies, and More!

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 02:00 AM PDT

Welcome to Theorycraft Thursday, a community-building, regularly occurring thread in the subreddit!

MMO veterans will know that Theorycrafting is the core of many discussions about this genre of games, and ESO is no different.

With the high level of variance in builds, skills, and stats, there's plenty of room for Theorycrafting, and we want to see what you have to share with the community on that front.

Have a build you've experimented with? A particular skill or set of skills that synergize well? A strategy for PvE or PvP that works to great effect? Share it here!

If you're new, you can also use this thread to ask questions about viable builds and skills as well!

As always, please keep in mind our rules on the sidebar, especially the one about no personal attacks, callouts, rude behavior, or other such disrespectful content.

Disagree respectfully and know that everyone has different ideas and playstyles that suit them.

No need to travel elsewhere or buy them. I've seen people in past years get tricked into buying bananas and stuff for ridiculous prices because they didn't know this. Best part is you don't even have to steal them. You can pick them up free of charge.

Hide shoulder armor

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 12:52 PM PDT

You can hide your helmet but it would be cool to hide the shoulder armor too.

I play as a nightblade and some of the light body armor looks really neat. And most of the shoulder armors destroys the look of them.

How difficult would it be to add some basic stations to Balmora or Seyda Neen?

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 02:27 PM PDT

I love these towns as a long time Morrowind fan. But once you complete their quests there 0 reason to go back. I know Vivec has crafting stations and guild stores and all that, but would it be too difficult to add a crafting area in these other towns? There is so much unused space and I would love to revisit all these places when doing my crafting routine

New to eso any ideas on what can help me deal a lot of dps as an assassin archer

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 12:41 AM PDT

Just got the game and feel kind of overwhelmed with the amount of skills and weapons and armor I can use for my assassin archer class. Created a wood elf as my character. Any ideas on what I should start my build with, and what I could use later on once I reach level 50. All feed back is much appreciated.

Question regarding Summerset

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 03:01 AM PDT

Im new to ESO and am a bit confused regarding new chapters I'd say probably due to what I'm used to from mmos.

What do I have to lose if I dont get summerset and dont raid? In WoW, which is what Im used to when it comes to mmos, a new expansion is really obligatory as it increases level cap regardless if you raid or do pvp, this doesnt seem to be the case in Elder scrolls and I dont see much point with Summerset?

Morrowind came with great feautures for everybody, if you dont get Morrowind you cant have a class nor battlegrounds (which I love). Correct me if I'm wrong but with Summerset if I dont get it and dont care for trials I miss a new zone with quests then? Sure there's the new skill line and crafting, I dont care for any of those atm I doubt they'll be useful to me. A point can be made that it probably increases possible skill points with new quests and skyshards but I havent even finished the main story yet so Im still playing catch up in that regard.

So really, without raiding and not caring about the new skills or crafting, what do I lose from not getting Summerset besides a new zone and story?

[Discussion] Compiled list of Event relevant dailies

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 12:36 PM PDT

So I thought since there's nothing like this yet, let's collect all the information in one thread, I'll start with what gave me reward boxes yet, comment additional ones that you found and I'll add them to the list below.

  • Crafting Dailies (6x)
  • Morrowind Dailies (2x Vivec[shareable] + 2x Ashlander[shareable])
  • Clockwork City Dailies (4x)
  • Wrothgar Dailies (1x Boss[shareable] + 1x Dungeon)
  • Spellscar (1x)
  • Kvatch dailies (Arena & Looming Shadows)
  • Thieves Guild dailies (Requisitions, Heists)

I am sure that there's a lot more, but those are the ones that I was able to confirm personally yet.

Magplar PvP thread, because they matter

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 12:52 AM PDT

Share your magplar pvp build.

Doesn't matter if it sucks, let's fix it together.

Mine uses Rattlecage (apparel)+ lich (jewels and backbar sword and board) + skoria + 2 willpower swords

Edit: is it better to have a destro staff instead of 2 nirnhoned swords? Since this build is for non cp pvp

I want to make a better build, but I'm not sure if there's anything other than this build that offers high amounts of sustain and a free skill bar slot.

I aim for good burst damage while heavy provides more tankiness + elusive mist nothing can go wrong. Always aim for at least 24k hp

What's your magplar build?

[PS4] Question about ESO Collection and the game in general

Posted: 05 Apr 2018 12:50 AM PDT

Hello everyone,

I will try to keep my post short(ish). So I used to play ESO from beta till like a year after release on PC, I really loved it back then but eventually stopped playing.

Now I would love to play again, on PS4 this time. I was a fool not to use the free transfer offered back then and as I know it is not possible to do so at all now. Fair enough, I would start over again, but for that I would like some more information.

I saw the ESO Collection on PS4 (https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP1003-CUSA00086_00-ESOBTLBUNPRE0000) I see it contains a lot of stuff, but I did not follow the individual updates, does it contain all updates so far? So as a returning player who already enjoyed the base game, would this be the best choice to grab? I would play it casually so I wouldn't (always) spend on monthly sub so not having to buy all content individually seems good.

Also, how is the game on PS4 (preferably EU)? I tried it at one of the free weekend periods late last year, while the playerbase seemed healthy, not much communication went on chat. Which is to be expected I guess, I have a keyboard plugged in for FFXIV so I could type but this is not the case for most I assume.

I would play the game casually, at my own pace, I already did all of the stories of every alliance back then, collected all Skyshards (besides Cyrodill) which was actually fun.

TL;DR: I loved ESO on PC around launch and would restart on PS4, is ESO Collection on PSN a good, all-in package to go with? (If I don't plan to be constantly subbed) + How is the game on PS4 (specifially EU) playerbase and "communication"-wise?

Thank you very much in advance.
