Please explain to me why meta has changed between seasons 12 and 13 despite occuring during the same game patch?

I'm pondering on this question for quite a while now, maybe I've missed a patch or two that weren't labeled?

Edit, I'll drop it here as well: There are a few build deviations:

Rat Necro switching to Scythe of the Cycle variations. Miniscule change is using Blood Siphon instead of Bone Spikes.

Demon Hunter: Marauders apparently got higher and Natalya's+Marauder appeared.

LoN builds disappeared completely?

Not sure about this, but wasn't Hammerdin the go-to in S12?

How the fuck are people hijacking D2 accounts?

Posted: 29 Apr 2018 01:30 PM PDT

It never occured to me to just ask this on the Diablo reddit, but 2 years ago I got back into Diablo 2 and one day I couldn't log into the game. It was obvious my account password was stolen. I never put an e-mail on it, to my fault I guess, but I always play my games 100% legit and never download any hacks or mods. It was a pretty complicated password too.

Got immediately discouraged, had grinded so much good stuff (Game is pretty much fucked anyway since everything is nothing but people botting)

I mean battle.net was always hacked pretty bad tbh so it wouldn't surprise me if some people know how to directly just steal shit now.

Endgame noob--please suggest directions I could take my necro build in!

Hey guys, I've played D3 a few times over the years, but playing this season is essentially the first time I'm actually taking the endgame seriously. I've got about 30 hours on this necro and am managing to do 34 grifs with about a quarter of the timer remaining. I'm pretty squishy and die very easily to certain types of elites, but it rarely gets in the way of completing a grif in time. Oddly, I'm still only using l58 pants because their ability gives me +30% defense and I haven't found any other pants, legendary or otherwise, that trump that ability. Same for my rare amulet, that +100% crit damage is difficult to beat. I've got the season set, and I've got several items from a few of the other necro sets, but I don't yet have enough of an idea of what kind of build I should be working towards to bother completely redesigning my current build, which is basically all centered around Circle of Nailuj's Evol and those golem pants.

I'd be nice if I could just augment my current build with better items or by beginning to upgrade what I already have instead of having to completely redesign, but of course I'd rather progress to higher grif levels faster than hamstring myself with an inferior build. Any ideas about a particular set I should be focusing on, items I have that stand out as needing to be replaced, or perhaps even some improvements to my skill selections? All feedback is sincerely appreciated. :)

Build advice - pest necro

Looking for some tips on my build (para 970): https://www.d3planner.com/676444006

So far I've prioritised damage and survivability as much as i can, which has come at the cost of CDR. I figured given the role of this build that in higher GRs (I cap out in groups at about 102-105 at the moment) that it was better to lay down max damage slightly less often than not be able to finish off an elite pack in one go but get a second LotD back a bit quicker. I still struggle in dense and narrow maps with survivability but i think that's just a feature of the build, especially when teammates aren't controlling / killing adds.

Was chilling running some public GRs earlier and someone was giving me grief in chat for lack of CDR (before we'd run a rift together). I was then kicked. Being kicked doesn't bother me at all, but it made me think about why someone felt so strongly about CDR, when it was nice-to-have IMO, but not something i'd sacrifice damage or survivability for.

I know 33.37% is low given the dependence of this build on LotD windows, but I've never heard people prioritise CDR specifically in this build given it's all about maximising the damage done in your window, more than necessarily maximising the number of windows to do damage. Seems to me it's much worse to not kill and elite pack in one go, than knock 20 seconds of LoTD cooldown.

Appreciate any thoughts on whether i should be trying to get a bit more CDR, and if so, at the expense of what? The game is being a PitA at the moment and just won't drop me ancient chest or boots, and i haven't had a useful ancient for most of this week. I know i could augment a few more items, but i've tried to only augment the ones which look like pretty good rolls to me, rather than waste a gem, so i know i could push higher with some augments.

Cheers!
