| Posted: 08 Apr 2018 09:32 AM PDT I may be wrong but i dont think its been mentioned in regards to crucible changes recently with everybody screaming for ttk changes. But it still really bugs me that a double melee doesnt kill an enemy. I cant be the only one that wants this changed back!? | Maybe make Meditations daily, and add bounties. Posted: 08 Apr 2018 07:42 AM PDT Just thinking of a way to make the story missions more fun/ grind worthy. Because in my opinion just adding them in with no reward won't get many people to play. Have the 3 missions reset daily. Add a couple weekly bounties. Rewards should change each season. Masterworks Zen, Get 100 precision kills with masterworks weapons Generate 35 masterworks orbs Get 25 masterworks power weapon kills Reward: 5000xp, 2 masterwork cores , with a chance to get a class item with lore based on "the hidden" Transcendental: Cast 20 supers Generate 50 super orbs Get 100 super kills Reward: 5000xp, stack of ikora rep, with a chance at an Ikora themed weapon made for "the hidden" [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Destiny 2, but with Ed, Edd n' Eddy Sounds Posted: 07 Apr 2018 04:50 PM PDT Just a silly little weekend project. I grew up with Ed, Edd n' Eddy, and I saw this style of sound editing meme spreading in the last few days and stumbled upon the sound library made from the show. Couldn't resist giving Destiny this treatment. Edit: Thank you, kind soul, for the Eddit: A 2nd kind soul gilded this post. Thank you!! I have a few more clips of mayhem, but I might try recording some strike footage next weekend and taking another crack at this. Eddyt: Three strange coins? You are too kind! Okay, I'll try to make at least one more of these next weekend. No promises though. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bungie: Just throw some hidden exotics in the next DLC please Posted: 07 Apr 2018 11:10 PM PDT Make couple hidden exotics like Black Spindle and those ones from the Taken King. Those made exploring and grinding fun and it was thrilling when someone found one or you grinded your butt off to get one. | Finally change colors that don’t change on armor? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 07:26 AM PDT I love the way the kairos set looks. Just one problem. THE SIDE OF THE ROBES IS STUCK A WIERD GREEN COLOR. Literally nothing matches it. Other sets of armor like the Vanguard's have the same problem. Along with many Hunter and Titan marks/cloaks. Will we ever see a fix for this? [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Is there something actually *wrong* with us playing a GAME differently than Bungie intended? Posted: 07 Apr 2018 09:10 PM PDT Just as the title states. I've seen it referenced in a handful of posts recently about Bungie changing something from D1 to D2 because (seemingly) they basically didn't like or want us to play the game how we were playing it (optimizing bounties, farming strikes, material farming routes, etc) because it's not what they had envisioned. But...when you really analyze it for what it's worth, if we were playing the game incessantly, albeit how WE wanted and not how THEY wanted, was it really that bad of a situation? It just really comes across as an inability to swallow pride at this point. We loved things about the game that were either niche or "not as intended", but they were (usually) harmless and THEY KEPT US PLAYING FOR LITERAL MILLIONS OF HOURS. It's a damn game. We aren't trying to jailbreak it or rewrite the code to old school cheat (DDOSers, this doesn't include you, you still suck) Get over your pride and your ego and let us play how we want. End rant. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Allow us to stay in a fire team with randoms Posted: 08 Apr 2018 12:28 PM PDT Please bungie, added back the ability to stay in a fire team during strikes and crucible. I recently played d1 and I remember how easy it is to make friends just by playing with random players. Which has never happened in d2 cuz we are booted back to orbit. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Posted: 07 Apr 2018 10:02 PM PDT Not a rant. Serious question. EDIT: Two useful suggestions so far. 1: "Don't select Orsiris Competitive" and 2: "Play midweek (probably after work) and not when Trials or Iron Banner are on". [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Please bring back Superblack with DLC 2. Posted: 07 Apr 2018 09:02 PM PDT And please make it darker than ever. At this point, the only thing that comes close is Metro Shift and that shader is much more blue than black. | At least some people are still enjoying Trials... Posted: 08 Apr 2018 03:20 AM PDT Absolutely hilarious that this still exists. Guy has 41 such wins on Destiny Tracker and was proudly wearing his emblem (9x Flawless with 0.52 KD(!)). gg, I guess. | Bungie: I don't care for cross play, I was CROSS SAVE. I'd buy a copy of the game on every platform. Posted: 07 Apr 2018 01:33 PM PDT I often hear about cross play, but given that it requires the platforms to agree it's not likely. And then you have the whole keyboard and mouse vs controller dilemma. I just want to see CROSS SAVE. Connect your PSN, XBLive, and Battlenet ID to your Bungie account and then log in from any platform as long as you've purchased the game. All of your gear is there for you to use. If my PSN clan is raiding, I can raid with them. If my co-workers want to do a Crucible night but they're on Xbox? No problem, I'll fire up my Xbox and play with them with all of my gear and abilities. Want to give PC a shot? Do it. EDIT: WANT...not was. dang mobile devices... EDIT 2: I just downloaded Fortnite on mobile just to take a look at it. I was asked to log in to my PSN account and suddenly ALL OF MY PSN PROGRESS WAS THERE ON MY MOBILE DEVICE! While I can't play with PSN friends while on my mobile, I CAN log in on my mobile and pick up where I left off. It is possible!!! | Posted: 08 Apr 2018 12:49 PM PDT Just give it the same perks as Sagira's shell, but for Io instead. I'd be stoked to have a Vexified ghost that I can pull out during flashpoints. Hell, even if it's just a tiny Harpy I'd love it. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bungie is there any update to regretting in air accuracy buffed Posted: 08 Apr 2018 05:13 AM PDT Dawnblade is not enough. As someone who uses dawnblade, landing a melee on a enemy, healing up, and using the in air accuracy buff, is not enough. Please buff in air accuracy to all classes. Don't punish people who are good at your game. Bungie, you should embrace it, opening more clutch moment gameplays. | Sharing our input with Bungie - My thoughts on Destiny 2 Posted: 08 Apr 2018 04:59 AM PDT Bungie has asked us, the community, to expres clealy what we think the issues are with the game. After watching a video of Mtashed asking the same I wrote a lengthy comment for that video in the hope that it would add anything to his views and input for the upcoming summit. I've decided to also post this text here in the hope that some of the Bungie employees will read it and hopefully get anything out of it. These are just my views and I'm, sure there are plenty of people who don't agree with it, but since we're being asked to share our opinions I thought I'd also share mine. What are the faults with D2: Terrible story direction The story has seen a shift from grim scifi shooter to a story focused too much on comedy. There is no gravitas behind the developments because everything (being it remarks from serious characters or whacko characters like Asher) always give it a "funny" spin. On top of that the plot developments lack any weight and are either very shallow and poorly executed or have no real payoff (for instance "reuniting the vanguard" was nothing more than going to 3 locations to speak with the individual characters once, not to mention CoO's complete lack of giving Osiris any character). What is worse is that the deep lore that was hidden below the surface of D1 is now completely gone and Bungie actively works to burry that, despite it being the best part of the lore. Lastly ghost has become the main character. He is the one other characters interact with not you the player. Seeing as ghost is a weak and unfunny whiner this makes me feel like I (the player character) am just a joker. Ghost represents your guardian in Destiny 2, but the character that it presents is far from the character your guardian is. You are a hero who has saved the solar system multiple times, faced monsters and even gods, you are legend. But when it comes to character interaction you are represented by a little whiny jester that makes you feel silly. The way characters interact with you and the things they say do not fit the tone and the gravitas of the situation. On top of that this sudden change in direction (both in retconning the deep lore and this heavier focus on comedy) is a complete betrayal of the narrative direction players had come to appreciate from Destiny 1. What little we had in Destiny 1 (mostly from the grimoire) was deeply treasured by the players. Entire communities were made around it, from youtube to reddit to other dark places on the internet, but with Destiny 2 all of those communities died out because there is no longer anything to discuss or research. Shallow gameplay Gunplay is great as always, but not challenging. Difficulty is artificially created by turning enemies into bullet sponges instead of making them challenging to engage or keep at bay. Enemies have lost their personality and they all seem to blur into one big mess. Fallen and Hive have no presence in the game and are just there as filler. On top of that half of the locations in the game feel unfinished and tacked on. Titan is a joke as a location, with 2 platforms being the "public world" and while Io is slightly bigger it's extremely bland and barren with almost no notable interesting locations and a graphically boring landscape. Both planets have nothing of interest to offer and are pitifully underdeveloped compared to Nessus or the EDZ. The game over rewards you with loot, but all of the loot is meaningless and adds nothing but a "power" level to my character. Perks on both gear and weapons have almost no use compared to the rich variety from the ones on gear/weapons from D1. The lack of random rolls or even exciting and gameplay changing perks on gear and weapons make all the weapons feel exactly the same. All weapon types can generally be chucked into on archetype of it's class and feel exactly the same no matter if there is a different perk on them. This has removed a huge chunk of replayability because all the weapons feel the same so why bother playing with any new weapons, but also because there is no longer an incentive to farm for a specific exciting weapon or a better roll. To make matters worse the game has oversimplified classes to the point where there is no variety anymore. There is no real customisation anymore and on top of that, with all the huge cooldowns and reduced damage, our guardians feel very weak and boring to play. In D1 a combination of gear and class spec could lead to some amazing gameplay changes or incredible moments or feats. In Destiny 2 you are forever forced into one boring and repetitive playstyle. Finally there is a lack of challenging and engaging gameplay, and a standard weekly play cycle is repeating the same thing over and over. There is nothing there to introduce variety (like the bounties did in D1. At least those forced you to play differently to complete them or adapt different playstyles and weapons). The kinetic/energy weapon system Because of the dual use of primary weapons Bungie has taken out a third of the fun. D1's gunplay was a constant dance between 3 different playstyles with all 3 weapon categories. Now it's just primary weapons all the time and a rocket launcher every now and then. On top of that, with the focus on primary weapons, enemies are more of a bullet sponge to keep you using these primary weapons on the most of the time. The new system has taken a large part of the depth of the gunplay out of the game by essentially banishing weapons you liked to use into a slot you rarely pick them for. Broken crucible Crucible has lost everything that it had going for it. There is no room for individual play anymore and the lack of diversity in gameplay makes it so that there are no "legendary moments of play". The crucible focuses too much on trying to be an arena shooter instead of offering a sandbox for space wizards to have a brawl in. The TTK makes it so that you have no control over an engagement, meaning that if you encounter more than 1 opponent you will not have a chance to fight them. Because of this the game has turned into a teamshooting mess, where people just bunch up and try to outnumber opponents instead of outskilling them. The slow pace removes the excitement and ups the frustration, because you can tell in advance that an encounter is going to end badly for you, but you still are stuck in it for a few seconds waiting for you to bite the dust. Balancing is also an issue and Bungie's insistent unwillingness to individually balance PvE and PvP has turned both gamemodes into a boring and bland mess. PvE suffers from the fact that weapons and gear have been made too uniform and bland so that they are not overpowered in Crucible. This in turn had led to the point where nothing stands out in crucible anymore which causes a giant loss of wow factor. Even if both were separately balanced, having a few weapons or gameplays styles being slightly better is not a bad thing since this will shake up the field. Lack of content Because none of the gear/weapons matter, you get showered with loot from any source and you are able to reach max power in a short time, players quickly reach the content ceiling. What is left is repeating the same strikes, public events and raid over and over. The problem with that is that none of those are challenging (with the exception of the raid) and because of this turn repetitive real fast. The fact that different weapons/gear and an increase in power level also do not influence how any of these activities play makes them stale. A blue quality gun from the same archetype as a legendary gun feels exactly the same, so changing to any new weapons does not change the gameplay and ends up being boring. Becoming more powerfull does not translate to rolling through content or giving you that feeling of being powerfull. Doing a normal strike at 335 lig- excuse me "power" feels no different from doing it at 300 power (or even lower!). Because none of this influences the gameplay (or the feeling of it), repeating the same content at endgame that you were doing during the "levelling" and "gearing up" stages makes them so overly repetitive and boring that by the time you reach endgame you are sick of them. On top of all this there is the general lack of story and destinations. As stated before, Titan and Io are a joke compared to the EDZ and Nessus. They offer nothing more than a few meters of content with not even half the depth that the EDZ and Nessus do. (Both Io and Titan feel like they were put together at the last minute as filler and that is one hell of a sad thought). And let's not even talk about Mercury, where there is almost nothing to do in it's confined space. The infinite forest had the potential to offer a variety of gameplay with the ever changing design, but in truth it's just as repetitive. The platforms change to the same shooting galleries that you quickly hop and jump through and offer no exciting gameplay or story moments. The time traveling setting and locations are under used and almost completely forgotten after you complete the campaign. Story wise and gameplay wise there were so many opportunities there, but in the end nothing gets done with it. There are also no hidden quests, of special gear that you can only obtain by doing unconventional things. Destiny 1 had the great Black Spindle event or the Sleeper Simulant/Outbreak Prime quests that united people to chase and solve these puzzles. These hidden items were exciting and special and they made the game feel more alive and caused entire communities to pop up. Destiny 2 lacks any of these hidden gems, there is not even hidden lore to explore! Just look at how dead all these communities on the internet have become since the release of Destiny 2. There is nothing for people to chase except what you see on the surface. The Grimoire (something that should have been an ingame lore book), the quests tab, the bounties and all the record books were content that kept people coming back because they gave players different ways to play the game and incentive to actually repeat otherwise repetitive content. They were part of the reason why in Destiny 1, replaying the same content could offer something fresh and new. Lack of reward for my actions Destiny 2 does not reward challenge (what little there is). In D1 you would only get the best gear and the coolest looking stuff if you did the most challenging content. Around Rise of Iron and the Age of Triumph the game had reached a point were progression from loot drops during the gearing phase had reached an excellent point. You reached max level, did entry level content to receive gear up to a certain point of light level, unlocked more challenging content that rewarded higher light level gear to bring you to the point where end game became accessible and then gave you the best stuff after completing the fun and challenging endgame content. What is more, after you had reached max light and done all the end game content to get those great rewards there was another layer. This final layer did not provide new gear or an even higher light level, but instead enhanced your guardian in a way that you felt rewarded, but did not overpower you compared to other players who had not completed these ultimate challenges. D1 gave you beautiful ships, sparrows ornaments, shaders and emblems. All of these were just visual rewards that allowed guardians to proudly display their achievements. They were a perfect final incentive and hard enough to obtain that they felt special and exclusive. All of this lead to the following: work your way up while gearing by constantly hitting a ceiling for the level of content you did, offering you a chance to increase in power by completing a challenge above your current content all the way up till the very endgame and finally rewarding those few people who went above and beyond. This progressions system was extremely satisfying and exciting. In Destiny 2, you can farm entry level content like public events, reach max light (it'll take a while, but it's doable) and you will not be any less powerful than someone who has cleared the prestige raid. Gear from endgame content is only desirable as a cosmetic instead as a step up from the "normal" - pre endgame content. This breaks the gameplay progressions loop. The step between normal and endgame content should be covered by an increase in power (both power level and quality of the upgrade). On top of that the cosmetic rewards should follow as a further reward for the highest level of challenges just like in Destiny 1. In Destiny 2 the most casual player can obtain all the great stuff (except for the cosmetic like raid gear) and this has obviously been done to appease those players. The problem is that this has removed a gigantic driving force and the essence behind obtaining loot: gear being better and indicative of the level of content you are playing on. People want and need to chase "the dream" of obtaining loot that not everyone can obtain. This is a major part of what makes loot exciting. Even players who can never complete certain activities, because of lack of time, dedication or even skill look at these items and think "God I wish I could get that". They might never get any of them, but the thought of it being there will at least motivate players to keep playing because one day they MIGHT (and when they do it'll be the ultimate reward). This has been completely removed from Destiny 2. Even worse, huge amounts of content that could have been used/placed/rewarded in other and better places has been hidden behind the lootbox system of the Eververse. Eververse is a gigantic kick in the balls where you are asked to pay money to gamble on stuff that should be rewards for activities in the game. The way Bungie treats its players Bungie has always been very secretive in dealing with the community and the players. With Destiny 1 this caused friction and struggles, but in the end the game shaped up nicely and people were happy. Destiny 2 however is an entirely different beast. Bungie did a complete 180 with how Destiny 2 turned out to be. People believed that the game would build on the foundation of Destiny 1 and continue from there. Bungie made promises that it would, but when the game came out it turned out that they went back to square one and threw out all the things people loved from the original. It looks to us (the players) like Bungie did not learn from their mistakes. Over the last few months bungie has done some surprising things that has really shaken the trust between players and developers. Destiny 2 has been nothing but blatant lying and treating the players like fools. From the start Bungie made huge claims about the game that turned out to be completely false ("players telling us there is too much story" for instance) and then continued lying about certain things that are in the game (the experience scandal for instance). On top of that there was a general air of "we know better than you what you want, so just shut up and eat what we are feeding you" and a general condescending tone from Bungie to the player base. Later after these scandals gained attention and huge amounts of players left they suddenly decided to start communicating. Now Destiny 2 is in a race to see if it can be fixed before it completely dies. Bungie is infuriatingly late to this and has not offered any reasonable response about any of it. Saying "we hear you" over and over, but not explaining anything is frustrating to say the least. Then when something finally does receive attention they take ages to patch/fix/balance/implement something. It took 6 months to balance patch weapons that have been broken since day 1. These should be minor changes that should happen within weeks or even days upon learning of a problem (other game companies who have far fewer people working for them manage to do it in days, so why can't a juggernaut like Bungie?). The excuse is generally playtesting etc, but when a patch finally lands it's ususally makes things worse and turns out to be an unbalanced mess (why need a month of extra playtesting to implement 7 boring and mostly cosmetic items as nightfall rewards?). It takes too long for patches or changes to happen especially considering the fact that the end product is not the super polished diamond Bungie seem to think they are crafting. On top of that we still are not receiving any clear communications about what future plans Bungie has to adres the issues. Bungie needs to realise that it has reached a point where they are actually at the edge of the abyss. Things need to change now and radically and they need to start speaking with the players about what they plan to do to address the issues. Bungie needs to share details and actual mechanis isntead of saying "we are working on issue X" or "we have plans to do this", the players need to start hearing deatils so that we can weigh in about wheter or not this is something we desire or instead of waiting to hear these things after months of internal testing. Let's hope that this last point is getting covered by the upcoming summit. p.s. Lastly I'd like to say this to the bungie employees and especially the community managers if any happen to read it; Despite the occasional nutjob who threatens you most of us have a huge amount of respect for what you do. I realise you are all in a terrible position and I can only imagine how low moral must be at work. I know you all work hard and that you want this game to be the best it can be and I really appreciate what you try to do. I feel especially sorry for the community managers for facing the brunt of the blowback and I can only imagine how hard it must be. I respect you guys and I salute you for your hard work. Having said that though I do feel the need to point out that you, Bungie, have let us down extremely with Destiny 2. After all the troubles with D1 no one expected to have to go through that infuriatingly frustrating period of waiting for the game to get good. The community did not have the stamina for another round and we feel betrayed by the fact that you put us through it again. Over the last months you have lied to us and deceived us on and on top of that you've toppled entire communities that you claim to hold dear, by your design choices that you should have and could have clearly foreseen. This is not just about trust, we're your paying customers and have put in huge amounts of money for your product and you did not deliver. You are going to have to do a lot more than you are doing right now to regain that trust and you are going to have to build up that trust after that by a lot more if you expect us to pay anymore than this. You are in the wrong here, not us. Time for you to make up. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Bungie, please bring back the old armor and weapon styles of Destiny 1 Posted: 07 Apr 2018 03:06 PM PDT These were gorgeous, amazing, and unique to Destiny. Now, Destiny 2 looks like a cheap WoW knockoff with good graphics armor-design-wise. Please bring back the old armor and weapon styles, specifically Year 1 armor and weapon styles.Titan: Shoulder pads are too damn huge! Hunter: Cloaks are a complete joke Warlock: looks like a priest with a dress. So, looking back on Destiny 1 armors: Titan: Badass space soldier. Practical medieval-looking armor with normal sized shoulder pads and swept back helmets. Look at Year 2 NM Spektar armor and AoT Armor (the one on D1 character selection screen) Hunter: A rogue with armor that looks like scavenged armor. Cloaks were badass, tattered or not. Look at D1 armor in general Warlock: Badass Jedi warrior with awesome looking trench coats. Look at Year 2 FWC Spektar Armor with a black shader, exactly. So Bungie, please look back at Destiny 1's character selection screen for inspiration. It's exactly what I want. Titan looks perfect; Hunter looks badass; Warlock looks like the space mage it is supposed to be. And for weapons: Auto Rifles look like actual SciFi Auto Rifles. Ditto for all the other weapons; they look Scifi weapons not like whatever we have now. As it is for armor, they are unique to Destiny. Look at the Cydonia and PSI for Autos and Pulses. Look back at D1 Year 1 in general. Thanks! Edit: Here are other cool details about Guardian armor style inspirations and other trivia (for each class): Titan:

| Posted: 08 Apr 2018 09:17 AM PDT That 20 mile FoH story was so bitter sweet. | Do not add any more reskins of legendary guns and armor. Posted: 07 Apr 2018 08:08 PM PDT Instead reskin blue armors into purples. There are so many blues that actually look really great with shaders and it's a waste that we can't infuse them like legendarys. | Posted: 08 Apr 2018 10:34 AM PDT Bungie please bring rift back. It was such a versatile mode of play ! A perfect combo of good old capture the flag and tactile shooting or hiding your way through enemies. As a rift runner I absolutely miss the thrill of a run where you make it with 1hp and wipe out the complete enemy team and hear lord shaxx go : "this is amaaaaaazing". | What is the point of Sentinel? Posted: 07 Apr 2018 08:04 PM PDT I can barely ever justify using it. Grenades: Weak. Suppressor can be useful in PvP but that's it. Magnetic sucks because right now, all sticky grenades suck. Voidwall is often straight trash because you can toss right at someone's feet and it will do nothing. Super: seems lackluster. Add clearing? Striker and Sunbreaker do it better. Single target DPS? Striker and Sunbreaker do it better. PvP? It can do ok but not really any better or worse than Striker or Sunbreaker. Just about the only nice thing about is putting on Synthoceps with Code of the Protector and getting melee kills which heal and/or provide shields. Or niche things like putting a Ward of Dawn on the zone in Countdown. Code of the Aggressor just seems like a mess. Shield Bash is meh. Superior Arsenal would be great if the grenades actually had any oomph behind them. In the Trenches seems inconsistent and not worth it. Second Shield makes it seem like it's trying to be a poor man's Hammer of Sol. Am I missing something? Even before the 1.1.4 update I loved Arcstrider even though most hated it, but I have never been able to find a consistently good way to use Sentinel. It just seems so inferior to the universally-applicable greatness of Striker and Sunbreaker. Hell, give me Code of the Fire-Forged (and possibly Mk. 44 Stand Asides) and I can take down anything. Grenades are fine, Hammer Strike is godly, Super is amazing at either DPS or add-clearing...it has no weakness. I see weaknesses everywhere when I look at Sentinel. Sentinel-lovers, enlighten me! There must be something to love here! EDIT: This doesn't mean I want Defender back; that had to go, it was far too powerful for PvE. You NEEDED the bubble for every Raid boss, which forced Titans to ignore Striker and Sunbreaker too much. I'm fine with Defender going away...I just can't figure out a good way to use Sentinel right now, so it might need some buffs to neutral game skills or something. | I miss Eris Morn hope she returns. Posted: 08 Apr 2018 11:17 AM PDT "Fingertips at the surface of my mind!" I swear her lines were one of the best. She is one of my favorite characters in Destiny next to Cayde 6. Having her in destiny 2 will bring the serious tone of destiny back. Her dialogue and presence made every encounter seem life threatening. When we first heard of Crota and how he killed her entire fireteam I was like "Oh shit". Even strike bosses like the dark blade and Malok seemed like great threats when she spoke of them. I feel like she was one of the characters bungie did right. [link] [comments] |
