Bungie, buff weapon telemetries. Why is something so rare, so useless? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 06:22 AM PDT Why is it that one gunsmith material, which can be obtained from virtually any piece of gear, gives you more gunsmith rep than a gunsmith telemetry, which is rare? I'm not saying nerf the materials; rather, buff the shit out of the telemetries. Make one of them count as 5 or 10 regular gunsmith materials. No point in putting telemetry perks on ghosts if they end up being useless. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:48 PM PDT Like really I can't be the only one that only pops in here to see "what did bungie do to piss everyone off this time?" Edit: wow fell asleep and this blew up, I should add that like most of you I desperately want this game to improve and to be able to love this game the way I loved destiny 1. But I realized that this is basically the only reason why I'm still subbed to this page on reddit. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:01 AM PDT That way (on consoles) you would never be able to kill it because aim assist keeps dragging your reticle away from him. Unbeatable I say. Drops an exotic that allows you to adjust aim assist, for a small silver donation. [link] [comments] |

Poll: Do you still play Destiny 2? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 05:19 AM PDT https://strawpoll.com/cedxgczw After seeing another thread about active players in the subreddit I thought it would be a good idea to make a poll and see how active this subreddit is with the game [link] [comments] |
Limited World Events; What happened to them? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:24 AM PDT So the new DLC will likely be dropping in just over a months time and in the run up to it, was anyone else expecting some form of world event to occur? The 'Blades of Crota', the 'Wolves are on the Prowl' and the SIVA contagion just before RoI were great additions to D1 in the run up to DLC drops. They help cement the world as a living environment, so what exactly happened to them? I guess there's still time for something to occur, but I think part of me was expecting the recent update to sneak a little something in there for us to promote DLC 2 in game. Even those Warmind music boxes appearing randomly across different patrol zones would have been something to say "there's something arriving soon" [link] [comments] |
Delay the NF timer until you get out of the public areas Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:32 AM PDT One thing that kind of pissed me off about the Inverted Spire NF this week with the new changes is that you get no score until you get out of the public area at the beginning. I assume this was to combat the people Can we delay the timer until you actually reach an area where you can score points? Edit: It looks like this has nothing to do with lost sectors. I was able to jump into a lost sector and immediately the multiplier returned. This only seems to apply to public areas. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:35 AM PDT The Bungie Bounty stream is starting at 10:0AM Pacific time. "DeeJ will be talking to Design Lead Josh Hamrick and Senior Designer Kevin Yanes on the present and future states of the Sandbox and Crucible." I haven't seen anyone discuss this recently and thought it would be a good idea to remind people. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:38 AM PDT Seems like it'd be a great way to make Supremacy thematic, and incentivize people to play the game mode. It'd also be a good fit between mechanics and gameplay. [link] [comments] |
[D2] Could cross-character armor infusion make a comeback please? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 10:21 AM PDT As a (somewhat) functioning adult with a full time job and other responsibilities, I have less and less time to pick up video games, which limits the amount of progression I am able to make with a single character in D2. Because of this, it is difficult for me to experience what each character class has to offer, resulting in missing out on part of the fun of this game. In D1, I could jump in, infuse armor from another character and have a blast playing through content with a class I was less familiar with. Now, in D2, my third character languishes on my account, being used for nothing more than storage. I don't really have the time to grind the third character up to a suitable light/power level without completely giving up on my other characters. Cross-class infusion would go a long way in making this game more diverse and fun for me and others who simply don't have the luxury of grind time for 3 characters. To be clear, yes I understand the grind is there on purpose so that we spend more time in D2. But it's gotten to the point where I've played through the campaign content twice and really don't care to do so a third time plus grind my way to 335. It's too much of a time commitment, when I could just be able to hop in and play, like in D1. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 08:36 AM PDT Playing Mayhem really struck a chord with me last night. I main Titan. I like to smash and punch things. It's what we do. You nerfed shoulder charge so it wasn't a one hit anymore. Whatever. We adapt. You took away our OP lightning grenades. We adapt. I have to punch people 3 times in the head with my huge biceps now. Whatever. We adapt. You took away our invincible bubble of justice. You monsters. We adapt by not ever using it. But wtf Bungo. I have to slam most supers TWICE to kill them? Especially now that everyone gets 9+% damage reduction in their supers. That is unacceptable. We are the ultimate "cut your shit" class. While the warlocks are floofing around trying not to nova bomb a wall and kill themselves us titans get the job done. We walk inwe smasheverything is dead>>we walk out. THAT'S THE ORDER, Bungie. We don't need three roaming supers. Hammers were fine. The shield was cute for like 5 minutes. But you had to go and mess up the only thing ya Titans could lean on: "you, over there, cut the shit." We want our one hit KO super back. Put it in one of those stupid 4-for-1 choice trees if you must. MakeTitansGreatAgain[misc] [link] [comments] |
Let's have a look at Bungie's "two simple goals" Posted: 04 Apr 2018 04:59 AM PDT
Let's have a look at the first one: Kick-ass games: Yeah, not bad, until Destiny 2 happened (Or Destiny in general) State of the art tech: Takes 6 months to release absolutely minimal "number changes." Destiny 1 is made from a modified Halo Reach engine. Destiny 2 is made from a modified modified Halo Reach engine. Still uses P2P while the whole world uses dedicated servers just cause dedicated costs too much. Yeah so much for state-of-the-art. Uncompromising art: I gotta admit for this one: art is still a strong point. Concept art, world building, graphics, yeah these are good. Captivating storytelling: Ahem: "Later haters!'' "RAAWR am a big scary monster!" "Looks like you have more scrubbing to do Guardian!" "Cayde, Ghost, kindly delete yourselves" "I don't time to explain why I don't have time to explain" Want me to keep going? I guess the horse is vaporized at this point. Deep Gameplay: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh wait you're not joking... Selling enough copies: Yeah, at this point, that became the main goal; Money milking fans. World domination? Not much, maybe in a million other things though: Lying,Money milking, using fans, Slowest Update Release of...what year is it? Can you at least adhere to the reasons you exist before extending your hand to ask for money? You can find these here: About Bungie. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 11:55 PM PDT When D2 dropped it was a watered down version of D1 with no depth, it was the bare minimum they could release as a package and call it a game. Bungie shipped the game with known issues (e.g. Luke Smith & better devils) but we're happy to compromise quality for a quick cash grab. Over the course of the first few months following the release the community gave feedback to Bungie and it fell on deaf ears. Then COO dropped and the community attitude to Bungie and their lack of not listening and acting became toxic. This swell of unrest gathered pace and started becoming viral, at which point Bungie were forced to act putting up a big song and dance about how they are listening and how they will correct their mistakes. Several months have passed and they have again given us the bare minimum viable product, the changes they have made have been two far apart and they are not acting quickly enough. Other than a couple of changes there have been zero content changes, no UI changes, no menu changes nothing that takes actual development - they have tweaked numbers in a database to speed up supers, make jumps move faster, make weapons do more damage but they have not written any meaningful code which addresses Loadout, Mods, Loot System, QoL updates... Nothing that takes effort and costs money. The crap they have served up in the NF specific loot drops is the final straw for a lot of us, they have given us a sniper that maybe good but it's no different to any other weapon, it has no unique perks on it and in no way does it look like anything to do with Vex - would it have killed Bungie to give us a Sniper that looked like a VexHobgoblin Sniper that fired red bolts that had an ADDITIONAL perk that did 10% more damage to Vex or something???? I'm not even going to mention the NF reward for this week's strike as it's clear that less effort has gone into this than the sniper. Anyway Bungie stop being cheap, actually invest some time and money into sorting out this game rather than working on D3 (or whatever) and stop serving up the minimum viable product as we are all getting tired of this. On a dollars spent vs hours played metric, has the game been worth it for you? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 10:08 AM PDT This is ignoring all current problems with the game which don't need repeated here. Base this purely off how many hours you've played vs what you paid for the game. You can check wastedondestiny.com to see what your hours are. I've sunk 135 hours into D2 thus far. Considering I paid $90 for the base game/season pass and I'm guaranteed at least a few more hours from DLC 2 I'd say I haven't been cheated. [link] [comments] |
[D1] Banshee is selling PDX-45 packages Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:19 AM PDT Grab a package on all 3 characters and wait for the PB/CB/Rifled Roll. Or, if you have packages on any of your characters, pick up one of the rolls this week and buy another package! [link] [comments] |
I sincerely wonder how fast people would come back with a P/S/H weapon system and random rolls. Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:22 AM PDT I know that me (and most of my destiny friends) don't really have any interest in playing with the current weapon system because we find it boring. If special weapons and random rolls came back with a lower primary TTK i know that we would play the game quite a bit and if it was even close to as good as D1 pvp we would probably play it almost exclusively. I am genuinely curious what percentage of the playerbase that isn't playing anymore would come back with these changes. [link] [comments] |
I Think/Hope the new Gods of Mars trailer comes out with the TWAB Posted: 04 Apr 2018 11:27 AM PDT We're about 34 days from release (May 8 is speculated release), so it's about time we get a trailer. I just hope it looks cool. [link] [comments] |
What happened to NF specific loot being themed and powerful? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 02:53 PM PDT "Each terrible villain that players face should have a very rare and powerful unique item, themed to them, that tumbles to the ground as they collapse into a pile of bones." Last time I checked a reskinned ghost with the same perks as a legendary isn't powerful or unique. The weapons are cool, why could t we have 4 more of them? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:33 AM PDT Morning Guardians, After now seeing a few weeks worth of Nightfalls using the 'Card' system, I hope the choices within the card are extended to add more Modifiers and variety in the choices of how we play I've really enjoyed the changes to the Nightfall with how you can pick and choose how you approach it, the thing I think it now needs is some more variety in how we increase the Mods / difficulty and how we approach it TL;DR I'd be happy for the Nightfall challenge cards to be extended to more activities such as Heroics / Adventures / Meditations / Campaign replays to give more player choice and also allow us to play how we would like in some instances featuring more modifiers with positive and negative trade offs, The selective Mods could be a on a weekly rotation to allow variety as long as there is a good handful of positive and negative trade offs Edit - As pointed out, Matchmade activities could cause issues with this. I'd propose that matchmaking only pairs you with other teams who have selected the same Mod (Say from a rotational option of 3 variants per week) and you get stuck in with players who have selected the same mods. Forming a Fireteam which sticks together for aslong as you want to save the world. OR, a separate playlist for Heroics just like the NF where you can go nuts and select what you want in any Fireteam size Show your Hand So far we have difficulty increase / decrease and a choice of 'Burn' for the elements Taking into account fun variables such as 'Torrent', this could be added back into the card at a cost of multiplyer which made me think that we could apply the following:
I believe this then gives a fair trade off between the two and you would have a real think about what would be best to increase your chances at either scoring or just overall clears Considering how D2 differs from D1, Modifiers could be adjusted accordingly to enhance D2s gameplay which is what I want, not looking backwards but forwards. Here's some ideas:
This for me atleast, would also help with inspiring me to keep pushing for that Nightfall specific loot because I can manipulate how I approach it not just for ease of completion but to add to the fun of running it and mixing it up besides 'x14 and Arc burn' over and over Dealer always Wins Now the reduction of Modifiers even before the changes for me, wasn't the best move. That variety kept even the lesser enjoyed Strikes fun and interesting BUT the new system is better step in the right direction and in a best case scenario, I'd like to see this applied to more activities
Ace of Spades I'll be honest here, I've not once touched Ikoras Meditations BUT adding a 'Story Challenge Card' may actually turn my head The Campaign doesn't need any scoring system for me but I believe could benefit from allowing us to pick and choose modifiers to run through it. We've completed the campaign to get this far, so why not allow us to manipulate it and make the best out of it? Next to that, allowing us to replay Story missions as is with the power to apply whatever we want to it is also more of a pull to go back and enjoy some of the better missions in the campaign. Same for CoO and Same for the upcoming DLC2 Consider this: You want to make a 3rd Character but Groan that you need to run the campaign again (I don't mean that as a bad vibe towards it, I enjoyed the campaign for what it was personally but as an 'End Game' player, story missions are just in my way effectively) BUT now I have a challenge Card after my first campaign completion, this is account bound and applies to Meditations as well as repeat run throughs I turn Torrent / Brawler / Catapult on and absolutely have a blast wrecking all these Cabal that so believe they are worthy to sit in our Tower and take away our beloved Vaults. Dominus Ghaul? How about Dominated by the Gall of my super enhanced Melee Abilities from Brawler! Card Factory Could this then apply to Adventures? Brother Vance? The Raid, perhaps? (That's probably too far but why not) The base of this is allowing players to play the game how they want. Some like a challenge, others like to watch every strike boss out there burn and why not? We're God slaying, Vault Raiding, Calus Robot smashing Legends, why not allow us the power to manipulate that? We can still have Weekly set activities, we can still have a set out route to Gear and have it scaled dependant on how we approach activities. With some of these activities, it would enhance their replay-ability, make the grind more enjoyable for some and just give us some power back in activities we want to re-run again The Last Word I like the card system as a base, I think it has a ton of potential to allow us more freedom in our play and would like to see this apply to more activities rather than a set rotation so we can pick and choose what we aim for and how we play. I think this can also open up possibilities for Community engagement of "Hey man, try this on this Strike / Adventure / Story, its fun / challenging as hell!' I'll be honest with you all here, all I'm doing in D2 right now is Nightfalls for Emblems and unique rewards and I just think the above is a great idea to open this all up for more exciting opportunity for Power, Rewards and all around fun and good times elsewhere And yes I did just use Card Factory as a header.. They do some pretty sweet Balloons [link] [comments] |
Does anyone feel like Bungie may have taken resources and team members off of Destiny? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 06:23 AM PDT Given the lack of progress after shit hit the fan, I wonder if they moved team members on to other properties they felt like had a better chance of succeeding. Any thoughts on this? [link] [comments] |
I wonder how big the live team actually are? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 12:47 AM PDT So considering the Nightfall strike loot was delayed to make it better, and considering we only actually got 3 guns (all of which were new) a ghost re-skin with super underwhelming rolls, 2 sparrows which are modified existing models and a slightly modified ship, it makes me wonder if they are simple understaffed. I imagine creating new weapons from the ground up is time consuming, and if all the core team (I will come back to them) are now working on, I presume, Destiny 3? maybe the Live team don't have as many creatives on hand. This doesn't really give that ghost shell a free pass though, I mean.. come on! That's just shoddy. Anyway, giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe their team is quite small and most of it will also likely be working on finalising DLC2, why the **** don't the powers that be get the core team to step in and help finish the game they released last September? These quality of life changes and updates that were in D1 shouldn't be handed back to the Live team to implement AGAIN, they should be working on giving us new and different content, the core team should work on giving us what should have been in at launch. TLDR - Bit of a rant, basically the core team should be the ones fixing the mess that D2 was at launch, not the live time, they should be working on new and interesting content. [link] [comments] |
