Types of Killers That You Run Into During the Match

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 04:10 AM PDT

This is a companion piece to my Types of Survivors That You Run Into During the Match

u/joshthebear93 told me to do this so he gets props for motivating me to get this done sooner :)

The It's Nothing Personal Kid Killer

  • A true seasoned professional. They have prestiged every single killer and has seen everything there is to see in Dead by Daylight. They are used to toxicity and doesn't let anything get to them. True to their name, nothing with them is personal. They are very dedicated to this game and love it, though in less of an intense honeymoon way and more like the love between a 60 year old couple, passive but intense. They only get angry during extreme circumstances such as: hackers, survivors sandbagging their teammates, or extreme BM. Always say gg in post game chat.

"Dirt off your shoulder."

The You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do Killer

  • This killer has long since mastered playing Hillbilly, Nurse, and Michael Myers, not because they wanted to, but because they knew it was there only chance at climbing to low ranks. They have accepted that they have sold their soul to BHVR to get to where they are. Legend says that if you play with these killers, you can hear an sigh from across the map from what was presumably a decisive strike or a flashlight. It is nigh impossible to rile these guys up. Talk is cheap and they expect cocky survivors to put their money where their mouth is. Is a very graceful loser and winner.

"Wow? A SWF group with matching outfits? How original never seen that before."

The Meta, who? Killer

  • This killer unironically plays Freddy, Wraith, and Hag. The killer loves to play who they want to play and they make these killers work. These people roll their eyes at "Top 10 Killer perks" YouTube videos because really, any perk can be good if you make it be. They use Territorial Imperative and Hangman's Trick because they use perks that they like, not necessarily the most meta perks. This killer is here to have fun, if they down a survivor you'll see them nodding their head before they hook you, they have a good sense of humor. Overall, these killers go at their own pace.

"You're hooked on a feelingdododo I'm high on believingggg that you are dead toooo meeeee"

The I'm Taking You Down With Me Killer

  • The opposite of the It's Nothing Personal Kid Killer. Everything is personal to them. They end up tunneling one person and with each, with each flashlight, with each loop, they start loosing sight o the objective and their new objective is to see this little shit sacrificed. They are not above face camping to get what they need. Sometimes making a point is more important than pipping. Alternatively, the this killer will tunnel a survivor who is sandbagging, selling out their teammate, or hacking. It's all about making the Pointtm. They are judge, jury, and executioner, dispensing justice where they see fit. Is the most likely irl to get goaded into a bet.

"You are one pallet stun away from a Mori. Don't think that I won't."

The Sometimes the Kills and the Sacrifices Were Instead the Friends That We Made Along the Way Killer

  • These killers play mostly like normal but with one key difference: they form inexplicable connections with survivors. Whether it be because they like the survivor's username or because of the way the survivor manages to be cheeky without being toxic, who knows why this killer likes a specific survivor? These aren't killers who farm per se, but rather killers who see a kindred spirit on the other team. Voted most likely to carry the last survivor to the hatch.

"I would sooner uninstall the game than let you die, DarkThrasher99"

The I Came Out to Have a Good Time Killer

  • These killers don't really care about balance or metas or bugs etc. They got the game to chill and be an overall apathetic participant. Have never really played survivor and thinks that the thought of doing generators and working with teams is boring and over done. The difference between this killer and the Meta, Who? killer is an overall neutral feeling toward the entirety of the game. Don't get this killer wrong they like this game, but they are very casual with their interest in the game.

When you try out non-meta perks to have fun but then you realise that you'll have to play like a total douchebag to be able to win.

When you’ve been tunneled all game and the killer finally gets you but you have a surprise.

1 gen left 2 survivors and 1 is camping the hatch wdyd?

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 10:30 PM PDT

Just had a good game where the killer (LF) was doing great and it ended up getting down to just me and 1 survivor. I'm a decent stealth player so LF couldn't find me and I kept sneaking between the remaining gens getting as much progress done on them as I can before he comes round again, and I start wondering wtf is Claudette doing? Because I hadn't seen her and it seemed like I was the only one tryin to get the gens done. So I start looking for her and wouldn't ya know it she's just chilling 10ft from the hatch just hoping I die so she can get out. Annoyed by this I proceed to fast vault over a near by window before running off and hiding. She got caught and died and I proceed to jump into the hatch and survive. I feel justified in my actions. But what do you do in situations like these?

Getting Evil Incarnate achievement while wearing a myers mask. Is that the secret?

[QoL Suggestion] When carrying a survivor, hooks are ALWAYS highlighted in red even in line of sight

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 10:50 AM PDT

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I will often not see a hook directly nearby because it isn't highlighted and blends in. I don't see how making them always in red only when carrying would be a bad change, as it would allow the killer to be more efficient.

[Perk Idea] Possession

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 04:38 AM PDT

Possession

When a survivor is sacrificed to The Entity, their spirit possesses a previously cleansed Hex totem, re-activating it to its fullest effect. This can happen 1/2/3 times per match. Possessed Hex totems are cleansed 15%/20%/25% slower. Survivors gain bonus Altruism points for cleansing possessed hex totems. When a Hex totem is re-animated, a token is consumed. Start with 1/2/3 tokens of Possession.

"It's almost as if I could hear my fallen friend's voice coming from within the totem that I had cleansed at the beginning of this trial. It is now standing again, and it burns with a passionate blue fire, yearning to be freed. I will not let you suffer this time, my friend." - Unknown

~Some ideas/notes about 'Possesion'~

When a Hex totem becomes possessed, the colour of the fire is now blue instead of orange, indicating that a survivor's spirit is trapped within.

When cleansing a possessed Hex totem, you will be able to hear the sacrificed survivor's voice grunting in agony, until it is cleansed, when it will unleash a death scream that quickly fades out into silence, alongside the usual thunder strike sound effect.

Survivors get bonus Altruism points for cleansing possessed Hex totems, as they are freeing their friend's spirit (also because it takes longer to cleanse).

There is no order to which Hex perks are re-activated if there are multiple Hex perks in play. OR Hex perks that were cleansed first are re-activated first, and then it continues in order of 'first cleansed' to 'last cleansed'.

If there are no hex perks equipped with Possession, then a random dull totem (cleansed or uncleansed) is possessed. Survivors still gain all of the normal associated bonus altruism points for cleansing these totems and freeing their friends.

Wild Idea for Possession A sacrificed survivor who possesses a totem can stay in the trial, 'playing' as the totem (they are still dead and revival is not an option). Every five seconds they can attempt to complete a skill check, that, when completed, will notify nearby survivors of the totems presence. If a possessed Hex totem is cleansed while the sacrificed survivor is still in the game playing as the totem, then they are granted some survival/altruism points for sticking around to help their alive friends. Alive survivors will get even more bonus altruism points for cleansing possessed Hex totems of players that are still in the game.

Feedback is appreciated.

What the game really needs.

I think it needs more variety, so I reckon a chainsaw wielding killer would be pretty cool and a breath of fresh air for the game.

R1-R5 killer stats (without DCs, moris and NOED)

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 08:30 AM PDT

The requests for stat generation were as follows:

  • High Rank (Ranks 1-5)
  • Excludes games that have less than 4 survivors spawn.
  • Only counts sacrifices as kills; meaning it excludes DC's and Mori's from adding to the kill list.
  • Specifically excludes games where NOED is used.

Results:

[The data scientist] went with the specifics you asked for. Quick note, NOED is used in 14.6% of the games in Ranks 1 to 5.

Killer and % Sacrificed

  • HillBilly: 60%

  • Trapper: 56%

  • Pig: 56%

  • Cannibal: 55%

  • Nurse: 54%

  • Huntress: 53%

  • Hag: 52%

  • Shape: 51%

  • Wraith: 49%

  • Nightmare: 47%

How to counter looping. (WARNING: LOUD)

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:34 AM PDT

Fuck lag switchers.

Posted: 04 Apr 2018 06:30 AM PDT

Had perfect ping in lobby, join the game, get two gens done, and then rescue someone from the hook and heal them only to have the killer freeze while I'm still running away, and then downed and reappear on a hook. Report him, and lose connection mid game. Lost a party streamer and all my fucking points. I hope he's banned. Cancerous piece of shit. If you suck at a game get better, don't cheat like an asshole. Don't be that guy.

This is why we need fucking servers, so it's at least harder to cheat. Devs, please, we've been asking for servers since the fucking beginning.
