Types of Survivors That You Run Into During the Match

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 11:58 AM PDT

The Survivalist

  • These survivors completed the 100 gen achievement in under a week. All the survivalist wants to do is escape and isn't interested in flashy plays or jukes. Getting chased by the killer is a means to an end. They are the type that run empathy to avoid their teammates.

"You get points for taking a hit for another survivor?"

The Fuck It Survivor

  • This survivor's catch phrase is "You know what? Fuck it." These survivors are ride or die, they are the type that will go back for you, even after the exit gates have opened. They are seasoned veterans who may not be the best at looping, but their extreme altruism makes up for that. Death has not been feared for a long time and there is nothing that will deter them. The most upsetting thing to them is when they are the only ones that make it out.

"Get down Mr. President!!"

The Get Gens He's on Me Survivor

  • This survivor lives for the chase. Pallets are their nutrients and flashlights are their life force. They manage to pip every round without so much as touching a generator. Altruism is a means to an end, their only true goal is to get the killer's attention. Somehow they are the ones that the killers leave alone the most. They teabag but is careful not to be overconfident. Voted to be the most likely to get face camped.

"Waste his time 2k18"

The Stealthy Survivor

  • The exact opposite of the Get Gens He's on Me Survivor. This survivor hasn't unequipped urban evasion since Nea came out. This survivor is the type that almost immediately disappears when they unhook you. Kind of a jack of all trades but is dead meat if the killer finds them. They live for the stealth and is most likely to hide in plain sight of the killer.

"BBQ and Chili is so broken dude."

The Side Mission Survivor

  • Whether it's for a daily or it's just their play style, these survivors are unconventional to say the least. They might decide they want to sabotage every hook to 99 or they might want to loot every chest they can or cleanse every totem they can find. These survivors think that generators are boring and treat the game like an expedition trip. These survivors march to the beat of their own drummers, they will do gens or help other survivors but in their own way. Whether is be saving a survivor last second by saboing hooks or giving the survivor a medkit they found, they are unique to say the least. They manage to not get lost in Gideons and Lerys.

"Oh shit, have we not gotten any gens done?"

The Dog Eats Dog World Survivor

  • This guy is an asshole, no way around it. He will absolutely sandbag you, point at your locker, lead the killer to you etc. This guy runs empathy to bring the killer to his injured teammate. Will farm you but DCs the second they get on hook. Is the type that teabags the killer despite having little to no consistent skill. Gives survivors a bad name and leaves everyone with a bad taste in their mouth.

"The only reason I died was because you had a Mori. Lol you got lucky."

Why this game needs more frequent and more significant patches

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 10:03 AM PDT

This game has essentially remained the same since I started.

No signficant changes.

Metagame is still the same.

The same killers are viable and the same killers are garbage.

Everyone still runs the same 10 survivor perks.

The same items, the same perks, the same everything is still as viable as it was before.

Many games (especially mobas) have a rapidly shifting metagame because they get consistent patches of items being buffed/nerfed, heroes being buffed/nerfed and maps getting altered.

I wish to see the same from DBD.

Change some of the maps in patches (cough Ironworks and Fractured Cowshed cough)

I believe the only way for a game to remain entertaining and still grow is by it changing at least somewhat significantly every few months.

Nerf some perks and buff other ones.

Buff some killers, nerf some.

I for one want to see evolution, and I hope others want it too.

Rank 5 games adventure

Find a lobby -> host leaves.

Find a lobby -> average ping of 300 ms, leave to find a new one

Find a lobby -> connected, 3 ppl connect at same time. Host leaves

Find a lobby -> people join, eventually leave because a 4th didn't connect in less than 10 seconds. Host leaves

Find a lobby -> -time passes.... 1 minute later lobby found- host leaves.

Find a lobby -> average ping of 200-250... decided to stay cuz what the hell. Premades join after me, host leaves.

Find a lobby -> all players ready, timer goes down to 0:08, one player leaves. All players shortly after leave, host leaves after 20 seconds too.

Find a lobby -> incredibly, no bad ping and all players ready. Game starts! As soon as game starts, someone popped already the hex skull, host instantly ragequit. We all de-pip and earn 5k blood points. Didn't get to play a single game yet!

Find a lobby -> Russians and 180ms, game starts! Game takes long to load... game finally starts. Hey, we're just 3, 1 dc. Other guy gets killed in less than 15 seconds, almost about to get hooked and ragequits. We're down to 2. The other guy purposedly stays at a hook and points at it to get hooked by the killer. Game ends as you can imagine.

...

Find a lobby? Nah, I think I'll just do something else.

TL;DR Find a lobby.

Are killers really punished for camping?

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 05:29 AM PDT

You hear the argument "camping just isn't a valid strategy, the killer gets punished for doing it if the remaining survivors do generators" but is the killer actually punished? Think about it, if the killer downs a survivor at 5 gens, chances are they'll be able to sacrifice the survivor before your team pops all 5 generators, and since they already got a kill they could probably get another, thus almost pipping (theyd have to hook another survivor to pip and not camp) but with threats like noed and bloodwarden, wouldn't a killer be able to camp constantly at any rank and still pip consistently? The survivors not only have to find generators and get to them (in some maps it's annoying) but they also have to complete it, which is even slower if the camper has ruin. I personally don't believe camping at 5 gens is fair (and I'm a killer main) but what does everyone else think? Are campers really "punished" like people say?

Edit: Who would be interested in me running a test to see if killers really do benefit from camping? Was thinking of recording things like pips (pip, no pip, depip) perks I'm using, did people try to save the survivors, bnp's, killer I'm playing as (unless maybe someone only wants me to play one killer in which case I'll play probably leatherface) what gen I caught my first survivor at, etc.

This game now lobby dodge simulator ?

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 12:03 PM PDT

No joke last seven lobbies I joined the killer dodged. I was queued solo and there was usually 1 or 2 people already in the lobby when I joined so it's not like some huge swf party joined causing them to dodge. Been noticing this a lot lately. What gives? Killers turning pussy?
