Patch after patch grinding day and night and enjoying every second of it. I haven't played since June since I got my fair share of .62 and recently I tried Exile mod on Arma 3. After installing tons of mods and playing for a bit, I didn't have the same fun I remembered having with DayZ. Now I'm craving beta and hope to god I can get that same adrenaline rush that only DayZ can provide. I'll keep checking this subreddit like I've been for nearly four years and when .63 finally drops, I hope to see you all in game! [link] [comments]  | ||

I was always a fan of dayz YouTube videos since the arma 2 days. Now after weeks of saying buy/not buy I've decided to buy it. | Posted: 08 Apr 2018 06:25 AM PDT I think that the perma-death feature of Dayz is the best thing going for it, without it the game would be an autistic version of Rust. The morality of killing people in Dayz changes you, just like if you were to kill people in real life. You try to justify your murder, "Well he would've killed me! I was just trying to survive!" | A Concern I Have for Older DayZ Players With .63 Posted: 07 Apr 2018 08:05 PM PDT DayZ even on the new Enfusion engine is going to be great (I think) but at its core, it's still the same gameplay we've all toughed through for, like many, thousands of hours. What I am trying to say is a lot of us have ready played the game for most of what the core gameplay has to offer especially on the Chernarus map. I think when older players come back they will say "wow this new engine is pretty cool" and then put another 50-100 hours and the new engine novelty will wear off and then they will realize they are still playing the same game that they have always played just this time with a nicer experience even though they've already played through the legacy components. This is why I think modding and maps for a lot of people will be the thing that saves DayZ just so it offers something new to the table. Still, though, I don't know what the developers will bring to the table content-wise to the table throughout the year. I'd be happy to hear what others have to say about my thoughts and what you think. Thanks [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 07 Apr 2018 09:27 PM PDT I think it would be fun to get as many people as we can that can be friendly and lock a town down and turn it into a town for members of the subreddit or any one who comes across us in game. The last some one did this it was loads of fun. I think getting the community together onto one server would be a great way to get a server with some popularity and allow us some of that amazing interaction. We can set up roles for each member of the town to preform whether it be gathering firewood, farming, scavenging, etc. If this gets enough traction, we could maybe find a server with active admins that would be willing to "host" us, so that we aren't plagued by cheaters. | Posted: 08 Apr 2018 08:18 AM PDT Hello so I found a truck with all 6 wheels, so I went to town and searched for a truck battery and glow plug. Found both and went back to the truck + 20L of gasoline But I werent able to put the Glow Plug in the truck? The battery went in no problem but the glow plug just goes into the truck inventory when I try to attach it. So when I go into the truck and press Engine On, nothing happens. [link] [comments]  | ||

| How to figure out what Server you're playing on (see post for instructions) Posted: 07 Apr 2018 08:55 PM PDT I didn't know how to find out, so I'm guessing others might not know either, i found this stack exchange URL with instructions but it didn't include the version #. https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/155685/how-can-i-tell-what-server-im-on-in-dayz-sa To save you a click just: Browse to My Documents -> DayZ and open "username".DayZProfile.062 (the URL doesn't have the version number included) then open with notepad (i used notepad++) and search for LastMPServerName and you'll see the name of the server directly after that, might as well save that info to a text file with a date :) Sorry if this is common knowledge, if anyone knows any other tricks, finding ping in game, etc. please post.
