Freezes and loading problems since last patch

So, i just opened up BDO, there was a small 50mb patch and since this update, the game keeps freezing for 1-2 seconds ever 10-20 seconds and it takes a lot longer to load stuff like other players and NPCs.

Anyone else having these issues?

Character Information

  • Level 61 Wizard

  • 230 AP (Remains the same throughout the data sample)

  • 2x RBF: Power and 2x Valtarra Crystals - No JINs.

  • Total of 78% bonus EXP boost across all food/elixir buffs/Crystals/etc

  • 5 Critical Rate

  • 5 Cast Speed

  • DPS only - Never pulled (to keep data consistent)

Information to take note of

  • I only partied with people from Piggy's Temple Discord group (This is considered an "Elitist" group) - Information about the group below

  • All party members are at near AP softcap, at AP softcap, or higher

  • Party does not consist of the same members throughout the testing

  • Consistent Blue Party Elixirs (Drain/Grim/Fury/Exp/Will + Ass/Penetration/Detection if not hitting spawn timers)

  • Profit calculation does not take elixirs and food costs into consideration

  • Special deals are always on (Minus the first several hours of the data)

Remarks

  • The first 75 hours (up until line 26 in the spreadsheet) yielded significantly lower trash drop per hour. This is due to un-optimized grinding as we were still trying to figure things out. Pull were not consistent, we didn't do statues for additional drops. You can disregard the first 25 lines of the data if you'd like. I just included it in the data just in case anyone wants to see it. (Removing the first 75 hours will increase the silver/h to approximately 29.3m/h)

  • Any sessions that included PVP conflicts or a loss of a member (4 manning) were discarded to retain accuracy.

  • Parties always consists of 5 members, 2 pullers - 3 DPS.

  • EXP Calculation is not accurate. I only simply took the total EXP gained divided by the time grinded. If you have a formula to include all the exp bonus factors individually, please use that instead (and let me know).

  • This data does not include the recent patch that allowed us to obtain PRI and DUO Tungrad Belts. I will continue to update the data as I go (when I have time), so we can expect an increase (maybe?) in overall silver gain per hour.

  • My calculations may be wrong, but my raw data are as accurate as possible with a delta +/- 60 seconds with anything involving time. So feel free to use the raw data and do your own calculations

  • Data only includes information gained from myself in order to keep as many variables constant as possible. Your mileage may vary.

How to Read the Data

Time: # of minutes grinded in the party

100% Buff: This is the 2 hours 100% EXP daily buff

200% Buff: This is the 1 hour 200% EXP daily buff

100% Bell:Bell buff - self explanatory. Units are in minutes

Weekend: Weekend EXP Buff - separated by 100% or 200% (grind event not too long ago)

Night: # of minutes of night grind

Combat Book: EXP Bonus from Combat Book or 1 hour EXP Scroll. Units are in minutes

Burn: 30 minutes energy burns from black spirit. Units are in minutes

EXP Gained: TOTAL EXP gained during the grind session

EXP/h: =EXP Gained/Time

Trash Drop: TOTAL trash drops gained during the grind session

Column L - Q: Items that drop from Gyfin that I obtained due to the lack of special deals. You can ignore these for the most part.

MP Silver: Silver obtained from special deals - Includes Tungrad belts and everything else

Total Silver: TOTAL Silver obtained during the grind session

Silver/h: =Total Silver/Time

Trash/h: =Trash Drop/Time

I provided a simplified average chart on the right side.

Piggy's Temple Discord Information & Requirements (Cut and pasted from their Discord directly)

Requirements for Temple Discord (2/28 edit):

Musa/Maehwa/Striker/Mystic/Warrior | Softcap or over AP Softcap

Wizard | 225+ Sheet with TET Kutum

Witch | 230+ Sheet with TET Kutum

Ranger | AP Softcapped

Dark Knight | 230+ Sheet with TET Kutum and PvE test

Sorceress/Valkyrie/Berzerker | Softcap preferred, 230+ TET Sheet Required

No Shortsword classes will be accepted

AP Softcap : 237 with TET Kutum and AP accessories

Softcap : 230+AP with 1 or 2 TRI+ RCE and TET Kutum

Elixirs are required regardless of gear. Applicants who meet gear requirements but do not have elixirs will be rejected.

Elixir List

Recommended/Standard Elixirs

  • Will, EXP, Fury, Draining, Grim

Elixirs to use if spawns are not being beaten:

  • Ass, Griffon, Detection where Ass < Griff < Det in terms of damage output

  • Each one of these elixirs will reduce rotation times by about 2.5%

Elixirs that are not necessary for normal parties:

  • Death, Penetration, Defense, Life

For the majority of parties, pullers should not be popping elixirs under any circumstances. The extra money made from killing statues by the DPS role (2m/hr extra) is more than enough to cover one hour of a T2+T3 elixir. An example of elixir assignments can be:

Puller 1: None

Puller 2: None

DPS 1: Draining + EXP

DPS 2: Grim + Will

DPS 3: Ass +Fury

Disk 100% when i open BDO

Since 8 days, i cant play BDO anymore. The last-week after the patch, the game started with crash or freeze every 3x2. Now is really unplayable.. My disk go 100% after i press "Play" from the launcher. I7, GTX 850M, 16GB Ram. I was playing pretty fine until the last week

Wizards: PvE & Accuracy – Necessary to what point? (Feeling placebo?)

So I just came back to the game after a ~1.5-2yr break. Lots has changed, but I'm just trying to get my feet grounded once again in terms of understanding gearing and grinding, since I've always been into mob grinding over all other things in the game. I main a wizard.

I've been doing some research, and the general consensus is that Wizards don't need to focus on accuracy <at all> in PVE since their skills provide such large accuracy bonuses. From what I can see, this idea is generally not contested at all on the web.

However, last night, without going into too much detail, I swapped some gear to gain 15AP and lose 24 accuracy. 15AP is a relatively hefty chunk, and given the supposed unimportance of accuracy, I thought I was just going to start grinding and see mobs falling at least a bit faster. The mobs I was grinding were dying to a single spell ~90% of the time, so I assumed this would be enough to get them to die 100% of the time. As it turns out, they didn't appear to be dying any more quickly, and if anything sometimes felt as if there were stragglers surviving with a relatively/suspiciously large amount of HP.

So my question essentially is… is there some sort of general PVE guide out there that shows which classes need how much accuracy when grinding which mobs? I understand Wizard has high accuracy bonuses on skills, but I have to imagine SOMETHING is required and accuracy can't just be ignored completely. I'm wondering if the reason I'm not 'feeling' a damage increase is because I was just on the edge of the accuracy needed to grind the mobs, and swapping the gear for 15AP put me below that point.

Or is 15AP just not enough to make the difference I was expecting? (Move from doing 90% of a mobs health to 100% with a single spell) Also, I've yet to join the class discord. Is this the kind of thing better asked there? Are the class discords basically the equivalent of class-specific subreddits?

First three main quests reset after yesterdays patch

I have done all of the main quests on my main and now I have an annoying UI element telling me to find Akan. Does anyone share my fate?

PSA: the main story doesn't make sense unless you go looking for it

If you were like me and just played the game normally, you'd have lost interest in the main questline right after you reach the delphe knights fortress being attacked by the harpies. So far you get a relatively consistent story but nothing to write a book about.

But right afterwards the story makes no sense, you follow the questline given by the black spirit but you're basically doing errands and killing stuff at random for no apparent reason. You get to visit the entirety of the calpheon territory but you never get told what is actually happening.

The thing is that a huge chunk of the story is hidden behind a questline, and ir wasn't until recently that I started hunting for knowledge and discovered the "Monarch of Darkness" adventure journal in the calpheon adv journal section of knowledge.

If you have not yet done this, spoilers below.

Well basically the entire story about how Jordine becomes Belmorn stops abruptly after you watch the cutscene in the delphe knights fortress in which he summons the harpies to attack them, but you can talk to Edan hidden somewhere in Kanda ridge to start a questline that includes multiple cutscenes, a boss fight and even a black spirit awakening artifact.

I often hear people say that the story of this game is really bad and that they stopped paying attention to it and started spamming R after a while. While this adventure journal is nothing to write home about in terms of plot or writing, it does explain a lot of things that were left on the air after a certain point in the main questling.

Pity that the developers decided to make it so hidden.

Is Sorc actually bad for PvP?

I'm a returning player and all I've got is a Sorc, it's my only character and I've got a reasonable amount of time and effort invested in its gear and life skills.

I just came back to the game and noticed pretty much everywhere I see mentioning a Sorc, they're saying how shit she is. I'm looking to catch up in gear to become Semi-competitive in PvP with a guild, am I going to have to reroll?
