Something positive for a change: a community "thank you" for the development team for Bee Dee Oh.

Posted: 26 Apr 2018 08:38 AM PDT

Just wanted to thank the team over at the powers that be for literally staying up all night to fix issues that the community demanded be fixed, battling unexpected issues after migration, and then quickly pushing this week's maintenance patch (which included PvP changes people were complaining about last week). I don't think the community is well represented on places like Reddit and the official forums, it's mostly trolled by people looking for outlets for their anger. While people happy with the game are too busy you know...being happy with the game to care to make posts.

These changes came from complaints across the entire spectrum of players From the laughable: "I bought this game on Steam for $5 one time last year I demand thousands of hours of investment into new content, class balances, MY CLASS IMPROVEMENTS STAY UP OVERNIGHT AND FIX THEM NOW and BUY ME NEW SERVERS because I PAID FOR THIS GAME DO YOU JOB YOU SUCK" all the way to the quiet mega-whale, who actually likely paid for the servers quietly as they enjoyed the game and still do. Many people have invested hundreds to thousands into this game, who are very happy that we are getting a return on our investment. You listened to us and took the time to figure out how to solve our issues, you paid the money to solve them/test them/implement them, and you are prepping yourselves for the next basket of complaints that you certainly know will come to you next week. So thanks for this.

I don't think a lot of people realize how much has gone on for the last day: Backing up data, migrating servers, testing them, troubleshooting unexpected errors and then rushing a patch which includes PvP changes again to make the game better for us, needs not just recognition. It needs a standing ovation. As an MMO veteran I can give you actual horror stories from so many other games that were actually broken to the point you couldn't even move your mouse on screen; games that actually had absent, non-communicative development teams who never changed things people unanimously demanded for years and only realized it after the game died, implementing it too late. New (faster) servers mid-life of a game within months of protests from the community? This doesn't really happen people. I've played games where it felt like the dev's literally said "Sorry, deal with it" before shelling out the money to fix servers. So it feels like a lot of the complaints here likely are from people who this is their very first MMO, so their basis of comparison is not realistic and baseless.

If the devs read these posts, please remember that the marginal subset of the community complaining about everything from your communication, to your implementation, won't at all appreciate anything you can do for them and you will never make them happy. So in representing those who strive to commit only positive things to the community for the game I love, I am giving you a huge thanks for being one of the few games who actually makes sweeping changes to satisfy the player-base in a very hasty amount of time. So thank you for listening to us, thank you for staying up all night to make the game playable, thank you for offering us compensation for downtime (which is actually pretty rare!), and thanks for making tireless attempts to balance PvP, in literally the most complicated combat system I've ever seen in a game. It's a spaghetti bowl of factors which must be a nightmare to balance.

I know in life it's the squeaky wheel that usually gets the grease, but know that those of us who are happy are usually just quiet on forums. So here's a place for us to be loud for a change. Community if you have thanks to give, please give it here!

Higher alchemy level mandatory for better alchemystone upgrades?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 05:08 AM PDT

Iam alchemy professional 7 and tried to upgrade an imperfect alchemy stone of life. I sunk like 150 million in it and it didn't upgrade higher than green sturdy yet. Am I really unlucky or is blue/golden sturdy and higher only achieveable with higher alchemy skill?

Is every class bad apart from wiz witch and mystic?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 02:09 AM PDT

Every time I look online for like people's opinions on classes, everyone says oh no it's bad play something else. Ninja, Kuno, Tamer, Ranger, Sorc, Maewha, Musa, I can never find anyone saying anything good, people just say you're better off playing another class and I'm totally confused

I'm playing a ranger currently and kinda enjoying it the playstyle is really unique and I love their form of their dash. But you go on discord/reddit to look at stuff

RANGER IS BAD, NO DEFENSIVES AND OTHER CLASSES DO WHAT WE DO BUT EASIER AND BETTER THEN US DONT BOTHER WITH THIS SHIT CLASS AJFIEIKDFNJWKDNF

it's kinda sucking the fun out tbh, I don't wanna play a bad class but all the "fun" classes are bad.

I'm looking for fast paced, combo orientated and stylish, like if someone who hasn't played the game watched you playing they'd be like damn you're doing some crazy shit kindve stylish
