Which of Link’s partners has the most story to them?

Posted: 04 Mar 2018 07:37 AM PST

Every Link has a partner to go with him. Whether it's a boat, a fairy, or a sword of himself x4. But out of all his partners, which one did we know more about? Did he have a partner that had almost no story to it? Did we learn someone's life story? I'm curious, and want y'alls opinion on this.

Legend of Zelda Progress Tracker

Posted: 04 Mar 2018 06:23 AM PST

I've seen a lot of streamers on Youtube use an item tracker to keep track of what items they got and how many Pieces of Hearts or other collectables they have found so far. I'm wondering if there is a application or something that they use for that or if it is just manually made. If it is the former, do you mind linking me? Thanks in advance.

Which Zelda should I replay?

Posted: 04 Mar 2018 09:56 AM PST

I have OOT, MM, TP, WW, ALBW, ALTP, LA, ZELDA, and BOTW.

I think I would rather play one of the 3D ones. Which one should I play?

Went to a Zelda-themed cafe/bar and they had this mural of Link and Mipha

I am 900% sure that if I was given 3 wishes that being able to play BoTW again for the first time would be one of them, at least!

Posted: 03 Mar 2018 02:56 PM PST

It sounds lame and cliche but BoTW was the first game that gave me that feeling where you're so enamored and drawn in to a game that you get almost butterflies. I would love to be able to play it again for the first time, and get to experience it all again!!

The Ghost Ship in Wind Waker

It's got to be one of the biggest missed opportunities in the series. It had SO much potential for a deep, eerie background and lore. It had such a cool look and brought great atmosphere to the area whenever it appeared. Yet, all it was used for was another submarine with two Poes, a Wizzrobe, and a bunch of faces on the floor. Such wasted potential. Would have been an excellent concept for a full dungeon, or even just with more backstory.

[Botw] Happy Birthday BOTW! Here's my BOTW story. What's yours?

Posted: 03 Mar 2018 08:36 PM PST

Although it's flaws have become more apparent and acknowledged as of recent, it is still a VERY special game, one that comes around once in a life time. From it's premise of revisiting what made the original so special, to it's tragic, mono no aware themes, to it's beautiful landscapes, to it's sheer scale of freedom, to it's loveable and memorable characters that don't get enough screen time - From the ball of sunshine known as Sidon, to everyone's favorite waifu, Paya, to the bird of the hour, Kass, and to our special villain of honor, Master Kohga - everything just oozes with love and care that reminds us all, Nintendo may have been coming out of a rut with the Wii U, but this is what happens when nintendo brings their AAA-game.

When I first got it, I got the Wii U version, 2 weeks after it came out Because that's what I had at the time, duh And it could not have come at a better time. I was a junior in college; a graphic and web design major taking 7 classes, with my Senior Project being amongst them (I was set to graduate early; earned THAT many college credits in high school). It was Hell on earth. I won't lie. Although I loved what I did, and I was with good people and a good school, it was a VERY toxic environment for me - Skill wise, I was very much behind a lot of people, yet magically expected to keep up anyway. I wasn't like, a bad student; 3.4 GPA, rarely missed a deadline, but I just operated on a different wavelength. We had our big showcase coming up, where we got to design a project as massive as we could the way we wanted to showcase to family, friends, the campus, potential employers, etc. Although it was exciting, it was stressful enough to make the sheer act of being awake fill you with utter dread. Let me restate that. The entire situation was enough to replace what SHOULD be passion and being excited to get to work with sheer dread. Although I got good reception from my project - a mockup of an online media company akin to Roosterteeth, and even a few potential employers interested, I knew the project itself, from the start, was the equivalent of going up against a guardian with 3 hearts, no shield, and no master sword. Futile. What could I POSSIBLY look forward to, when the sheer act of the sun going down had me so panicked about deadlines I had to take Melatonin supplements just to get myself to get 3-4 hours of sleep so I could function the next day?

It uh, kinda... sounds cliche, but at the same time, sometimes cliche can still be just SO satisfying. It was this very game. From that first walk out over the great plateau, to the climb up the temple of time, I slowly felt my mind getting back on track. It was still a nightmare from mid-march to may, but it was so simple! Classes in the morning, go Play in Necluda field in the evening, Focus on the two-three closest deadlines at night. Set B of classes the next day, nap then Prepare a Sociology report and finish another task in the afternoon, Trek to Rito Village Struggle to get into the village, oblivious that there was a bridge, and take down Vah Medoh (Favorite Dungeon) at night. Classes, 8 hour Rhoaming spree, Plan what you'll get done over the weekend so it's as if you're consulting a walkthrough. Even the act of Massacring bokoblins or preparing to parry a guardian became somewhat soothing over time. I slowly began to feel confident again, to the point where I finally was able to deliver on a piece of feedback haunting me for weeks. "Your work needs to be more focused!" The professor reported, but with little else. I nearly gave in to the idea of mediocrity that day, and just letting the project suck. No. As if climbing out of a hole, I climbed up and over the waterfalls in Zora's domain, and as I dove into the Akkala region, I dove into a new idea. I started to think in terms of the exhibition space. What would I want my friends and family to see, and to tantalize potential employers with?

Even though I can't find the pictures, falling under the bridge to Tarrey Town, trying to get a Korok seed gave me an idea. I used large format paper to structure the top half like a marquee, and the bottom half like a booth at a convention, with each of my skills (Branding, Illustration, image repair, web design, etc) being portrayed as an upcoming work alongside my Portfolio and resume stuff. Just seeing, discovering, and.... practically just existing in Hyrule helped me stay motivated and inspired enough to keep at it. It doesn't happen a lot, but I was just reflecting upon this the other day. The project wasn't... great, but BOTW actually helped me make it a lot better than it could have been, and I wanted to know, do you have any BOTW memories you want to tell and can reflect on one year later?
