Update on my 24hr macro minor ban last week for using steam controller - Not good news. Posted: 03 Mar 2018 06:06 AM PST TL:DR IMO the email response i received is a generic reply, it mentions checking my account management page to see when ill be able to play again, even tho my 24hr ban expired like 5 days before i received the email. They have not even looked at my account, either that or they can't tell the difference between a legitimate player & what ever causes bot watch to trigger an automated macro minor ban. Mod Tyran said he'd take a look, I never heard back from him either…………………. Summary of what happened below :- I received a reply from Mod Jane P a couple days ago in reply to my appeal (should of posted this then but i've been busy). I want to explain exactly what i was doing with my steam controller to try & stop anyone else receiving a ban... as i mentioned previously i've used the controller for years with no issues until now. The two profiles i use for my steam controller & a screenie of the email i received are linked here the 1st profile was the one i was using when i got the ban, I use it for things that require you to click in the same place over & over, hefin agility / mining seren stones etc. At the time i was super afk, Playing KSP on my PC with my laptop on the side of my computer desk, Hefin agility course set up with the camera in the position where u can complete the whole course clicking on the same spot. As you can see, on the 1st steam controller profile above, i have the mouse pad turned off. I also did not have a mouse connected to my laptop so id imagine i was clicking on the exact same pixel every time, possibly what triggered it? Also i have alt1 on with the lobby timer set to bleep after 90 Seconds of inactivity in case i forget about RS as i'm playing another game. I've done this numerous times before over the last few years with no issues until now. Jagex have said previously that botwatch does not ban instantly, so might be something completely different that triggered it? I'm from Scotland but spent some time in Norway recently, where i used a mobile hotspot on my phone, so i could connect my laptop to the internet through my mobile phones data allowance. Could this have been a trigger? Jagex… please fix this before mobile release (potentially the biggest influx of new players were ever likely to see) as if you continue to ban innocent players through a flawed automated system, then reply to their appeals with a generic email without even looking at their account, you'll lose us….. Or at least show us the evidence so we can try ourselves to stop playing the game in whatever way is causing these false positives. edit: changed 2nd to 1st, when i'm referring to controller profiles on the imgur link. [Ninja Request] Give comp cape a right click max guild tele while in inventory like max cape Posted: 03 Mar 2018 04:13 AM PST With the need to equip globetrotter backpack while doing clues, could max tele be added to right click while in inventory, since going through multiple inventory options especially in areas like mos' le harmless with aggressive mobs is kinda a pain, and switching between them constantly can be kinda annoying, particularly as you don't get backpack charge if it's in your inventory when you finish a clue. Whetstone removes dye from items Posted: 02 Mar 2018 01:45 PM PST So i bought a set of khopeshes and a pair of ice dyes, planning to keepsake them. But i wielded them first after dyeing, which degraded the items, preventing them from being keepsaked. I proceeded to use whetstones on them which converted them both back into their un-dyed variants, so i effectively lost 2 ice dyes to a glitch. Thanks for listening. [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Mar 2018 06:59 AM PST coming from a nearly 16 year veteran who occasionally hates on updates via reddit (mostly about eoc) and has been reluctant to play as of the past few years, I feel like the recent clue scroll rework says a lot about the dedication the jagex staff has to the community. I can't help but say that I feel like this is the first time in over a year that I haven't seen the rs reddit feed flooded with complaints. I feel like for the first time in a long time jagex is thinking in the right direction. I mean who among us started playing ages ago and didn't dream of the day we could play rs on a smartphone the minute they were invented? Who among us seasoned players hasn't dreamt of the day we could finally stack clue caskets throughout the week only to open them on a Saturday after work or school just because we were already hyped about the weekend and wanted to make it epic? Bottom line is I feel jagex has finally started a path that feels genuine. It feels like the voice of the people is being taken to heart. Downvote it all you want but I feel like they might just be starting to take a positive direction. Edit: sorry for the mess of broken sentences and paragraphs. I'm on mobile. [link] [comments]

Jagex's unusual obsession with dongflaps Posted: 03 Mar 2018 12:18 AM PST Over the past several years of Runescape's life we've seen probably hundreds of new outfits. One feature that is present on a large amount of them is the dongflap. Even the new Globetrotter shorts' belt forms a dongflap. I'm curious if anyone has any theories or explanations of why they have moved to have this feature be so prominent in outfits. [link] [comments]
