When GM Blessing is not enough

Usually I'd just write a python script for stuff like this, but I figured that other people could like it too!
My custom launcher works basically the same way as the official game launcher:

  1. Start the launcher.
  2. Select the path in which the original launcher file (Black Desert Online Launcher.exe) is located in. (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Black Desert Online)
  3. Enter your credentials. (no, I don't steal them)
  4. Select if you want to save your credentials (password will be saved encrypted on your local disk) or if you want to automatically start the game next time you launch the tool (without entering anything again).
  5. Press Enter/click the Start Game button.

 
Your settings will be saved in %AppData%\bdoscientist_Launcher\settings.json.

FAQ

  1. Why?
    Since last patch the official launcher takes a very long time to start and sometimes doesn't load at all (atleast for me). This custom launcher solves that.
  2. Will you steal my account when I use your tool?
    Nope, check out the source code here and build it yourself using Visual Studio 2017 (Community Edition should work).
  3. So how does it work exactly?
    The launcher sends your credentials (your email and your password) to Kakao's authentication server-endpoint (https://www.blackdesertonline.com/launcher/l/api/Login.json) and gets an authentication token in return. This authentication token is then send to their second authentication server-endpoint (https://www.blackdesertonline.com/launcher/l/api/CreatePlayToken.json) which gives us a play token. The tool then starts the game by creating a process (bin64\BlackDesert64.exe) with the play token as startup command-line argument.
  4. I get an error message/your launcher doesn't work at all!
    Make sure you have .NET Framework 4.7 installed.

Edit: To disable the automatic-login function, you can either edit the settings file (%AppData%\bdoscientist_Launcher\settings.json) or start the Launcher with the command-line argument --disable-automatic-login.

Accidentaly bought the 250LT on the wrong character, Haven't consumed the item yet. Still in Pearl Inventory. I simply asked for them to transfer the item over to the character I wanted it on. This is their response.

More areas for party grinding ?

I've been playing BDO for about 8 months now, and while i understand, and appreciate, that BDO is different from your typical WoW-like mmo, there are a few things regarding PvE that i find disappointing.

The fact that there isn't any true end game pve is one of them, but even if i don't really like it, i can accept this one : this is what makes BDO different from other MMOs

But there is another thing that bothers me when it comes to pve : this is the first time i've played a "Massively Multiplayer Online" game where i spend so much time grinding alone. The main problem i see here is that once you get the adequate gear, solo grinding is almost always better xp and money than party grinding, so there is 0 incentive to actually party up.
We do have Gyfin now, but the gear requirements makes it so that only an extremely small number of players can actually go there and be efficient...

So my question is this : how would the BDO community feel about having more areas dedicated to party grinding ?

I'm not exactly sure what could be done to encourage party grinding, i'm guessing the easiest solution would be to heavily buff the mobs' DP or HP without changing their AP so that it doesn't become more challenging, but is only worth grinding there in a group of 3 or more players. Probably put an AP cap too, so that it doesn't become more interesting to solo grind with more AP like the other spots.
Making it so the trash loots is equally divided between party members, regardless of who picked it up, could probably encourage players to party up, as the money earned would be less dependant on who has the best pets in the party.

Overall, i think the money and xp earned should be roughly the same, or even slightly better than in other same-level area for solo grinding, but all this is heavily dependent on class / playstyle / effectiveness etc, so it may be hard to do

Anyway, what do you, good people of Reddit, think about this ?

Hey, I awakened DK, Witch, Maewha and Ranger already , DK became kind of boring, Witch was really cool with all the lightnings, Maewha was fun before awakening, after that the right click is most of her mobilities (i kind of like it when my abilties are dashes as well) Ranger super fun on awakening, but its kind of annoying that my "absolute skills" are going to be with bow.

All of that and i still can't find the "perfect class".. Anyone help me with some advices? was thinking about Ninja but idk how much mobile the Ninja is

Up to date warrior awakening skill guide.

Hey guys! I was just wondering if there was an up to date skill guide for the warrior(awakening). I just hit 56 and have 630 skill points and have a skill reset. I'd like to know how to best distribute these points now and going forward. I'm poor and low lvl so I'd assume i'll just be grinding for a wile if that helps. Thanks a lot everyone!
