I know this post is gonna get mass downvoted but you really have to hand it to bluehole/pubg corp the new test server update is insane at least 15 bugs fixed and dont even get me started on the new scopes (they feel very realistic now). If anyone from bluehole is reading this right now I really just recommend keeping up with your players and telling us how the updates are going and what you're doing to fix them.

Emotes are live on the test server. They are all well done, and don't feel at all childish like Fortnite dancing or dabbing, at least to me. They are all simple motions, many of them useful for communicating with others.

They do not force you into TPP when you are in FPP, so you cannot use them to peek around corners like half of you were worried about.

This sub should really give BH more of a chance on things like this. They were like "Hey we're gonna have emotes" and everyone started ree-ing about cheating with corner-peeking and making the game feel less serious within 5 seconds of reading it. Overall it seems fine to me.

People are freaking like emotes are going to ruin the game and that Bluehole is just adding them to copy Fortnite.
 
H1Z1 had plenty of emotes (both free and paid) and guess what NO ONE FUCKING USED THEM. People used them to joke around in the pregame lobby, but you NEVER saw them in game whatsover. They aren't going to have any real impact.
 
I agree with others that they're unnecessary, but everyone is freaking out over a complete non-issue.

I mean seriously... I am playing since Closed Beta. I do agree, we need to complain here and there, to push the devs to improve, but cmon....

Look at the top post about today's update on TEST servers. Half of the complaints there for low FPS and whatnot are for the LIVE server update.

People aren't even checking what are they complaining about. Get your shit together bros, cuz when someone new checks this place, all they see is some whiny kids :(

Did you report it to bluehole? If not, then do it RIGHT NOW. theres a reason they update test servers first. They need our Feedback! Dont be the guy who cries about all the bugs then doesnt report a single one.

So it seems many of us are experiencing a bug after the new update that they can't launch the game. (me included).

The steam icon just turns green for a moment and goes back to blue.

 

I got in contact with some people and gained some interesting informations:

 

1. - Many people are able to fix this problem when they uninstall/deactivate Trend Micro Antivirus. It seems BattlEye is blocking this. If that doesn't work for you continue with 2.

 

2. - A common problem with PUBG is that the Microsoft C++ Redists are out of date. Download and install the newest 2 files from Microsoft here and here. Maybe it works for you.

 

3. - Try deactivating your Firewall and Windows Defender for a moment. For some people Windows Defender blocked some files of PUBG.

 

4. - If that all doesn't help you it seems there is a pattern with the specific hardware the people are using. Please comment with your PC hardware. Some people I spoke to are using AMD Pheonom II X6 CPUs; the same CPU I also got. It could be a problem with that hardware. (However it could also be a specific set of software that causes the problem, but since I only have developing programms installed on this PC this seems ridiculous)

 

Maybe we are able to find another working solution. If you have more ideas feel free to share them with us!

 

EDIT 1: Obvious options like checking game files via Steam, compatability mode or running as administrator also don't work. Just for noting that here.

EDIT 2: Even more people with AMD Phenom II are reporting their problems here, there is probably a connnection there.

EDIT 3: The problem is not only restricted to AMD CPUs, since Intel user also have problems.

EDIT 4: PUBG corp now knows about the problem. Well, hope they will fix it fast. twitter

Ask bluehole to remove xigncode/xenuine IMMEDIATELY. It serves no fucking purpose and cheat developers worth their salt will still bypass it. The performance hit is NOT an acceptable trade-off. Every time there have been severe issues (eg. FPS dropping to 5 when looting) it has been due to the wonderful idea of adding this to the .exe, and bluehole has backed down every single time, with good reason. Ask Bluehole to invest more in servers and validations/heuristics. Clients should NOT pay the price of their Dev team being incompetent and handling everything client-side
