In a few cases, before the match had even begun.

I love OW, but this is getting too much. I played QP earlier and had a lot more fun, but I also want that competitive teamplay and communication. It's killing my love for the game, it's just an upward battle of babysitting others and losing the will to try.

There's only so much Blizz can do, which is what's even sadder. But something has to change.

I am sure a few of you already know, but when your ally gets hooked you can use Brigitte's whip shot to knock back Roadhog so he pulls them past the well rather then over it.

I tried to find out what word is hidden behind glitces in uprising announcement. I got something.

Hawaii Theory // Uprising 2018

Theory in a nutshell.

Well. I think, that we'll see Hawaii map and a Blackwatch operation on this year uprising.

Also that event will be called "Blackwatch Archives" or "Blackwatch Waihona".

How it all started.

Official Overwatch twitter posted a video about this year uprising event.

There was two strange glitches that revealed new information.

While glitching, file number changed from 00382 to 00272.

Entering into record date changed from 7 to 8.

Security clearance changed from CONFIDENTIAL to CLASSIFIED.

Mission name changed too, but letters are distorted.

I saw them and instatly began researching.

The steps that I went through

First I tried to inspect image, changed brightness, levels and other stuff that can reveal interesting info.

Then one idea struck me as a lightning.

Overwatch font is public and was released/leaked (not sure).

I found it, downloaded it, and tried to bruteforce settings that were used by Blizzard.

So I found just the right settings. There they are (for Photoshop CS6):

Font name: BigNoodleTooOblique

Font size: 50 pt

Character tracking(spacing): 8

Then I found exact pixel locations for finding exact character height.

They are same for glitched and non-glitched frames.

Upper: [292, 267]

Lower: [480, 267]

Filtering out excessive glitching

You can use this information to try different words.

Then, I began "bruteforcing" words to match leftover pixels and word length.

On this point, I already found one word that worked perfectly.

The word is: waihona (Click here to see how it looks)

Waihona means "archive" or "library" from Hawaiian language.

Then I realized that I missed second frame (thanks, VLC!)

After extracting all frames via ffmpeg I found it.

Thanks to /u/D-Cypher and /u/maebird- for pointing that out!

First I thought that I messed up, but then this came to my mind.

Second frame is just made for animation smoothness.

It doesn't help at all. Why? Click here to view the proof

Also I tried to figure out a sequence of actions person did to create this effect. I got this.

1) Placing text.

2) Selecting almost all text (left some pixels on top)

3) Glitched out selection.

4) They understood, that second word should be more distorted.

5) So they squashed vertically and horizontally(?) selected area.

6) Then applied glow effect.

I want to say thanks to everyone who helped me find these!

Overwatch developers don't want to trust any other translators.

German version doesn't has changing text.

Only year number is changing here. Text "AUFSTAND VON KING'S ROW" remains the same!

Same thing with Spanish version.

And same again with Russian version.

No sign of changing text, only number is changing.

Ana directly speaking about Hawaii.

If you'll pick Ana and look through telescope on Lunar Colony, she'll say "It's not bad, but it's also not Hawaii".

If we'll look at "4chan uprising leak", we'll see that Ana will be somehow involved into that.

It doesn't sound like a coincidence.

Also Ana has an interaction with Soldier 76.

Soldier: 76: Admit it Ana, this is better than retirement.

Ana: You haven't been to Kauai, have you?

Kauai is an island in Hawaii.

Conclusion.

This theory might be wrong! I'd like to hear all opinions in the comments section.
