It turns out Sgt. Hammer DOES NOT say "going back for a tuna".

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 08:04 AM PST

I'm no a native English speaker, so that was probably the culprit. I have over 6k games and about 400 of those as Sgt. Hammer and I ALWAYS heard her say "I'm going back for a tuna". Turns out it is "tune up" Wich makes sense cause she is a freaking tank and not a feline.

I feel so dumb omg

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 04:46 AM PST

Some of you may be wondering who the new female caster is currently on the Western Clash! Her name is Vandie, and she's one of ANZ's best casters, and an up and coming streamer. She can be found on twitter AND twitch @Vandie_, feel free to check her out!

Slow down of new Hero Releases

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 07:26 AM PST

Hello Heroes of the Storm lovers

I don't know how you guys feel about it, but I am really sad about the new release time.

One of the few reasons (but the biggest one) that I still play Heroes of the Storm is, that I buy 90% of the new Heroes that get released. I am always hyped for teasers and speculations.

Reworks are a good thing, but I don't get hyped about them.....they are no replacement for a new Hero.

I hope Blizzard reads all the comments on twitter, reddit and their forum and give us the one hero per four weeks back.

OR maybe I am one of the few guys who is not hyped about reworks instead of new Heroes.

Have a nice day readers and GLHF ingame.

"Thrall is basically a squishier...Muradin?" -new HGC caster

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 10:49 AM PST

Unpopular opinion, it was refreshing to hear a caster talk like a normal person, lay a theory out, instead of the super formal conversation with all these filler words while they try to think of what they can say that sounds super duper smart ('they are starting to move with that 4-man, invading onto the side of TempoStorm and we are seeing that damage beginning to come out from that Tychus pick...').

It's okay to say things that aren't bulletproof and fully meta, I feel.

HOTS viewership is suffering with lack of NA lan events and viewing times

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 08:35 PM PST

I remember back in 2016 this game easily had 30k+ viewers with tons of lan events happening constantly in NA. It was very enjoyable even though the game was less polished. Having viewing times being NA friendly has always had incredible viewership.

This game can't afford only 4 western LAN events a year, 3 of which are in Europe with a horrific NA viewership time window 2am to noon PST. Having only one event all year on NA friendly time zone (blizzcon) will slowly kill this games viewership as we already see.

Please Blizzard, don't directly copy the same exact locations and time frame as last year. This great content and game deserve better exposure. It is incredible to see all the HGC gear being bought at blizzcon and seeing the 10,000+ watching the game there. The passion is there. Many will say it's only because blizzcon, but how do we know if blizzard hasn't given any opportunity since HGCs inception outside this one event?

To me, if you see one event in NA get 90k viewers and 10k+ watching live, vs events in EU having 15k and 300 watching live... wouldn't you want to go back to NA more often?

How much of Blizzcon is the factor vs actual genuine strong NA support for the scene is the question.

At the very least, both NA and EU should get 1 western clash event each.

69 out of 77 Heroes were played at least once in the 1st Phase of HGC (89%)

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 03:05 AM PST

Disclaimer: This is not a "oh look at the diversity" or something like that, just interesting numbers post and to make people know that maybe they can at least watch 1 pro game, or more, with their favorite hero.

Global-ish Meta by popularity:

[(% Participation in either ban or play / % Win Rate)]

Warrior: ETC (79%/55%)

Assasssin: Greymane (94%/48%), Genji (90%/43%), Hanzo (89%/57%)

Support: Uther (77%/50%)

Benched Heroes

Warrior: Rexxar

Assassin: Raynor / Butcher / Zul'Jin

Support: ------

Specialist: Gazlowe / Murky / Nazeebo / Probius

*Out of those 69 Heroes, 17 were played less than 5 games in total, and 3 out of those 17 only 1 game played.

Its beyond tiring to play Tyrande in QM and see Abathur in 99% of the games.

Posted: 02 Mar 2018 04:16 PM PST

Heya!

I'm a level 61 Tyrande, and I love playing her, but I just can't play her anymore lately because everytime I do there is a 90% chance there is an Abathur on the enemy team.

This is getting really boring because either my teammates don't know how to deal with him or he out soaks us or he has teammates specifically built for a comp with him like premades of Aba + Greymane + Illidan

I understand there is a 'sustain' group but why is Abathur in it? Doesn't he belong in a specialist group more since he is at his core a specialist and not a sustain hero?

Would it be considered to take Abathur out of the sustain group? If not that is totally fine, but I think it would be much more fun for both Tyrande And Abathur players to not see each other in every match.

Thank you, and have a good day!
