Posted: 06 Mar 2018 07:15 AM PST For reference I will get to talk to an engineer, graphic designer, and sound person. Doesn't have to be specifically for Civ, any Firaxis related questions. EDIT: Please try to keep questions relevant to Firaxis as a company, not its products! [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Mar 2018 08:10 AM PST Am I the only one who misses the end of game map that Civ V offered, where you could see the expansion of different empires over time? Is that ever going to come back? [link] [comments]

What grade would you give all the Rise and Fall Wonders? Posted: 06 Mar 2018 03:23 PM PST Amundsen-Scott Research Station - Modern Era - Cold War Civic - C- 5 Great Scientist Points per turn along with 20% more Science and 10% more Production in all cities; which is DOUBLED if there are 5 Snow or Snow Hill tiles within 3 owned tiles of the city? It's a Science Victory dream! .....except the fact that it must be built on a Snow or a Snow Hills tile next to Campus with a Research Lab. Unless you are Russia, have St. Basil' Cathedreal, or are just barely near it; you will never want to settle near Snow due to its poor yields. Casa de Contratación - Renaissance - Cartography Tech - B+ The 15% boost to Production/Gold/Faith to all non-home-continent cities with governors is fine as is. But the +3 Governor Promotions means you can promote a lot of Governors really quickly or make a mean super-governor. Seeing as Governor Promotions are kinda hard to come by; it's good to scrape up as many as you can. Being adjacent to the Government Plaza isint a hard requirement to meet seeing as you ought to have a Plaza down asap. Kilwa Kisiwani - Medieval - Machinery Tech - D +3 Envoys when built (+5 if in the same city as Apandana) is awesome. What is not awesome is the requirements of being the suzerain of at least 2 city-states of the same type. Which may or may not always be possible. If you can..... I have not really noticed a tangible benefit. The coastal flat-land adjacency requirement may be hard to meet depending on your map type/start location. Kotoku-in - Medieval - Divine Right Civic - F It's a very pretty wonder; yes. But not a very good wonder. 20% faith wont be that much of a boost 'till very late in the game. 4 Warrior Monks only cost 400 faith. Your 710 production is better spent elsewhere. Adjacency Bonus is easy enough to meet. MAYBE if you time this with the Terracotta Army or have really good Culture Development along with a Warrior Monk strategy then its worth it. Statue of Liberty - Industrial - Civil Engineering Civic - D- Another swing and a miss now with Mrs. Libby. +2 Settlers upon completion is very useless at this point in the game seeing as everyone likely has finished settling all the good spots and now its up to War/Loyalty to change borders. The 100% always loyal AoE is kinda moot unless a neighbor is trying to loyalty bomb you. The adjacency to a Harbor also kinda hampers how many cities you can boost with its 100% loyalty AoE unless you build into an in-land sea St. Basil's Cathedral - Renaissance - Reformed Church Civic - A- I'd argue the best overall new wonder in the Rise and Fall expansion. The 100% bonus to Relic/Religious Art Tourism in parent city along with 3 relic slots are fine and dandy. What makes it especially good however is the +1 food/production/culture to all Snow/Tundra tiles. The wonder has earned the nickname 'Snow Petra' for good reason. Previously nigh-unviable Snow-Leaning cities now gain a big boost to their viability with this wonder. This doubles for Russia/Natural Wonders located in Snow. It's adjacency bonus is also impossible to not have. Albiet the fact that you can build it in a city with no snow can make you an utter dick in the eyes of everyone else. Taj Mahal - Rennisance - Humanism Civic - C+ This wonder is....kinda boring. If you want a better shot at chaining golden-ages; go for it. River Adjacency is easy to get. Temple of Artemis - Ancient - Archery Tech - B Having to be adjacent to a Camp makes Temple of Artemis have one of the most tricky placing requirements in all of the game seeing as only 4 resources are improved by Camps. However; if you can put it down and get enough Camps, Pastures, and Plantations within 4-tiles; this wonder becomes one of the best in the game. A city with +3-7 amenities average, +4 food, and +3 housing, especially early-game, is a damn juggernaut. [link] [comments]

I was playing as Shaka, and the Khmer had the misfortune of being my closest neighbor. His second (forward settle) city was Angkor Wat, as luck would have it, and he managed to found Buddhism complete with wats right before I knocked him out. Angkor Wat is a pretty easy wonder to get, even on higher difficulties, because the AI seems not to build aqueducts. This was only on Emperor as I was just trying to knock out a few achieves (also spawned next to Galapagos, woo), but I'm confident I could have done it on Immortal or Deity. Nothing particularly earth shattering, but I thought it was a fun anecdote. [link] [comments]

The number one problem that needs to be hot-fixed. Posted: 06 Mar 2018 12:41 AM PST Stop the AI's from offering me 3 gold (not 3 GPT, 3 gold) or other similarly stupid deals for strategic or luxury resources. I'll get a dozen AIs spamming the same ridiculous deals in between every single turn. It's far and away the most obnoxious, tedious aspect of the game. It makes me wish I could just turn OFF trade and go full North Korea. It's literally spam. [link] [comments]

AI declared war and friendship in the same turn. Posted: 06 Mar 2018 06:56 AM PST Egypt and Russia declared a joint war against me. In the same turn Egypt asked to be my friend. The next turn we became allies and we're at war too somehow it's a crazy bug. [link] [comments]
What are the most passive Civs/Leaders? [Civ 6] Posted: 06 Mar 2018 03:46 PM PST Even if they have bad defenses or weak early games, I just want to know who is most focused on personal growth and least focused on domination. It doesn't seem like there are any specialized passive civs in 6, like there were in Civ 5. EX: Babylon had ridiculous defense and could just turtle and focus on science. I'd like a game where I actually have to rely on diplomacy and treaties and joint wars. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 07:16 PM PST Hello, I'm new to the series (I've played Civ Rev and WAY back in the day played some Alpha Centauri, that's all the experience I've got). I've got an old gift card that needs to be used in the app store and was thinking I'd dive in and try Civ! Should I get 5 or 6? All of the "which one should I buy" posts I've found via google are over six months old, and a lot of them come down to "give 6 a little more time to mature." So...what's the state of the game? Has 6 improved to the point that it's the go-to? Or should I get 5? [link] [comments]
